From the way I read The Zigmeister's review, I think the chrono's are fine. The problems he alluded to were in the context of the Rolex Daytona and all the extra gears that were needed on this specific model to move the running seconds from 9 o'clock postion to the 6 o'clock position. If this is not done (ie, you are getting something other than a Daytona), then the chrono's work great and are not a problem.

I think it has a more modern feel due to the shine/gloss of the leather, but I seem to not be able to capture that very well in my pics I also have a Dark Cognac Europelli Cordovan that looks a lot more "old school", but still pretty dressy. Now, when I throw on the Vintage Caramel Cordovan strap, THAT's a friggin vintage look! But that strap has pretty much taken up permanent residence on my PAM 6521/1 1940's homage watch. In case it wasn't obvious, I really like Europelli Cordovan Straps. I'll try to take some pics of the 217 on the Dark Cognac / Gold Stitch tonight....

Thanks! I did get the name wrong, it's "Rusty Tan", not Vintage Tan. Still a good look, the darker patches really allow the grain to show.

Thanks all The strap is a Vintage Tan Leather Walterstrap that I did a little extra vintage work on, mainly just lightly sandpapered the edges.

Agree, for leather straps, Europelli Cordovans are at the top of the heap.
