  1. After wearing the 194 for a few days, my davidsen 111H seems small
  2. Ti would be less flashy, no doubt. But I like the extra gleam and extra weight of the SS. It's a substantial watch, it should feel substantial, IMO. I'm a big fan of it in SS, even if it is the wrong material compared to the gen.
  3. Switched to my 113 w/Davidsen AR Saphire Crystal on TC Toscana Strap:
  4. Sure, as long as you don't try to fit it under a shirt sleeve It's big and heavy, but like all Panerais it is pretty balanced on the wrist.
  5. lionsandtigers, It's a PAM 194 from my man Eddie.
  6. Weather is turning cold, I'm going with my newest, the BEAST:
  7. kruzer00, Maybe it's the simpler dial that gives it that feel? Or that the bezel markers extend all the way to the edge of the bezel on the 194? It's a lot more shiny/blingy in person than in my pic. In fact I'd say it's probably the flashiest panerai I've owned so far. And it's sheer size commands attention
  8. Holy crap I thought the 127 and 217 were big, but this thing is a BEAST: And a shot for real life perspective:
  9. It's the price, most people just don't want to pony up $300 for the initial investment. I sold my 217 and 127 from other dealers and bought the davidsen versions and their lume, crystal, and pin fix make them absolutely worth the extra money.
  10. None of this "easing" into panerai w/a 40 or 44mm watch for you! You jump straight into the 47mm camp - that's pretty cool Wear it well. For a strap, I highly recommend the Europelli Cordovan straps, great colors and nice big bold stitching:
  11. Maybe they were waiting till the bezel issue was properly addressed before coming out with the 7753 model.
  12. Just do what I do, get both I'm getting the 194 now, and the 187 whenever it's available. But only if the 7753 187 has a genuine sapphire crystal, otherwise it's a no-go. Lack of genuine Sapphire crystal is "the" major flaw that most reps have. Mineral crystal just does not quite "look right", and sapphire crystal (in real life), goes a long way to making a rep believable. It's a pretty big part of that "aura" that gives a watch real presence on the wrist. And the 194 has real sapphire, eddie assured me when I ordered mine earlier today
  13. But the Davidsen case in real life is so much better and more "powerful" presense in real life for the Luminors compared to other reps. I am having a small problem with one of my davidsen dials (not enough superlume), but I LOVE the case, it's pretty awesome, and I've got a lot of other reps with luminor style cases to compare it with. I will say that davidsen is great to work with, and that if there are problems he will certainly take good care of you.
  14. Thanks, that's a Molina black gator. Originally it had white stitching but I stained it black, looks a lot better IMO.
  15. Those aren't floor boards It's my very old, wood dining room table. Somewhat better pic of it here:
  16. For something a little different, I picked up an all brushed bracelet for my all brushed 092. It's very different than the tan leather I usually have it on, but I like it quite a bit!
  17. So, after my last experiment with the 192 and oxyclean, I figured what the heck, why not try it out on the full 177h watch. I wanted something a little more vintage/rugged looking, and a quick 30 min bath in a hot solution of water and oxyclean seems to have done the trick. Take a look & tell me what you think! BEFORE: AFTER:
  18. Looks awesome Rolli, great pics. I don't understand why theres not more interest in the 202, it's a 47mm Chrono in a fiddy case, no worries about the bezel falling apart, and no date window, so no recessed date to worry about. Great rep, wear it well!
  19. Real Sapphire crystals, with proper AR coating is the biggest difference between a rep being believable or not, at this point in the game.
