  1. Love this watch, but the recessed date is a deal killer for me, I just hate looking at a watch with a big gaping hole in the dial. I wish the would adjust the movement so that this wouldn't happen. If that was fixed there's at least half a dozen watches I'd buy immediately, including this one.
  2. That's just a trick of the lighting, I'm looking at the watch right now and the orange stripe is most definitely on both sides of the triangle. Man I love this watch, the best quality rep I've seen.
  3. Since the community here has helped me so much with regard to educating myself about reps and pointing me in the direction of good reps on a consistent basis, I wanted to do a review of the 7th gen (Ultimate) Planet Ocean. My main concern when ordering it was that the bezel might be a bit too red in color, based on Josh's pictures, but as you can see, it's spot on orange, no red tint at all, I can only surmise that Josh's camera doesn't have accurate color balance, cause the PO I got looks perfect: Here's a closer shot, you can see the hands are perfect, the pearl is very good (although a bit low), the markers are all straight, logo looks good (except for the upturned points on the feet, which really doesn't bother me at all). The other thing that I notice is that the sweep of the seconds hand is even smoother than on the gen PO, which I've tried on several times at the local AD (42 and 45, black and orange). The bracelet is solid, and has push pins instead of screws! I'd give it top marks for accuracy and build quality. Gratiutous table shot: Lets do a few comparison shots: Last but not least, some wrist shots:

    45mm Ultimate PO from Josh:
  5. 217 w/davidsen sapphire crystal, and Officine Firenze aged tan calf (I darkened the sides w/a dark brown sharpie):
  6. I'll probably be selling my Arktos rep before too long, and I'm giving one of the 183's to a friend for Christmas, and giving the 060 to another friend for Christmas. I've got the ultimate PO 45mm Orange and the SMP Chrono on the way to ease the pain of parting with those 3
  7. Thanks, makes matching my watch to my clothes much easier in the morning, just grab one and go, no fiddling around with changing straps
  8. Yes, replaced the faulty rep dial with a non-faulty rep dial.
  9. I said this over at TRC, but I'll repeat here, if we can get $30 price I'm in for 5. If we can only get the $60 price, I'm in for 3. Remove caseback, remove movement, put your thumb on the inside of the crystal and push real hard. Or, remove the caseback and movement, put the watch case inside a thick sock, wedge it between the floor and a wall and tap out the crystal from the inside with a hammer (yes, I've done this). Don't hit it too hard, cause it can shatter (yes, I've done this too).
  10. Just finished replacing the dial on my inge from eddie, thought I'd post a wrist shot:
  11. Here's the current SOTA: Metal strap collection:
  12. Added some shots with a couple of different straps.
  13. Added a pic on the blue/white strapmasters. It's a little darker than in person, but gives a good idea of how well the 2 go together.
  14. Do you use a paintbrush or some other tool to apply it?
  15. I'm about to order some C3 and try it out on some of my watches. How do you keep inside the lines on the hands and on the non-sandwich dials?
  16. More Panerai GMT Skeleton Hand Blue Dial Love on a Molina brown Gator:
  17. Put it in a pan w/ oxyclean detergent on low heat for 30 minutes, make it look darker and aged. I also did it on a 192 I had a while back. I recommend removing the movement and crystal before immersion.
  18. I have this exact same watch. One big advantage with it is the numbers cutouts are wide enough, on most reps the numbers are too narrow and it really impacts visibility.
