  1. Oh....so it's cheap then? Well I better get my order in right away. That will look quite lovely in my living room. I'm sure my fiance will just love the 16 cylinder engine block as a small knick-knack in the corner
  2. Looking pretty good k! Are you happy with this one? Your 111 is ridiculously tight
  3. How about never run in front of a high speed train????
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8JeUIDMq6g
  5. Wow now this is really getting intriguing!
  6. Thanks Jkay! I agree - it's really transformed this watch into something that will last a long, long time. I doubt this will go out of style anytime soon
  7. Good lord! $3.6k? Wow that's an expensive piece of machinery! I'd love to know how much the 16 watch Bugatti winder is.
  8. That was very eloquently put P4! I don't think I could have said it any better, and yet every word you said rings true for me as well. With that, I add my thanks to yours. This is such a wonderful home and wonderful family. I have made many great friends here and I always look forward to checking in Cheers to you P4 for such a fantastic post
  9. That's really cool. I have the Datejust that you built for Wheaton26 with a gen rolex date disc. My only question is, I thought the date wheel turned in a different direction than the ETA movement discs - making the numbering order reversed?
  10. Thanks guys for the compliments! I couldn't be happier with the results so far. It's been a trying experience that has taken waaayyyyy longer than I originally anticipated, but in the end, its all been worth it. I am anxious now to finish this up! @ P4 - no, my skills in photography have been slowly improving over the last year and a half. Practice, practice, practice! I am truly blessed to have many friends, both here on the forum, and elsewhere, who are extreme photogs. I try to learn as much as I possibly can from them
  11. Stunning! Any idea how much that beauty sells for?
  12. Just finished with the UV treatment. It still needs to cure for another 24 hours, but I just carefully placed the case over the dial to have a quick look. What do you think??
  13. Wow. They make some pretty amazing winders! I really like the Oil Baron too!
  14. Update on my progress: New crystal arrived from Watchbitz today! I set out to install it right away with some UV glue. It's sitting under some UV Light now. I happen to have an EPROM UV Eraser which the watch case fits into perfectly While the crystal is tanning, I set out to remove the hands from the movement I installed the new hour and minute hands and they look pretty good! I also removed the old gold crown from the stem and installed the new white gold one. The old crown came right off without any effort at all so I installed the new crown with just a little bit of thread lock So as of right now, here's where I'm at: Waiting for crystal to set onto the watch case Waiting for a new seconds hand Waiting for my new HK Tan Alligator Strap It's close folks! I am going to visit my grandmother in about three weeks so I hope to have it done before then so I can show her my work Let me just say one other thing. This project would never have been possible if it wasn't for the generous help of this community and especially offshore/watchbitz! Thank you O/S so much for your patience, wisdom and assistance throughout this whole project! This watch would never be what it will be without you!
  15. Yeah that's a great tutorial! I saved it as a bookmark along with Gio's tutorial on restoring & maintaining a bracelet.
  16. P4GTR did a great tutorial on how to do it. You can find it here
  17. Wow looks good! How's the running seconds hand? Is it smooth or a little jittery?
  18. Kind of looks like this one: A Rolex 5048 (ChiMan12 just built something similar)
  19. In honor of the "just missed" Sharkhunter Searambler Ronin?
  20. Yeah, it looks like it might be the exact one you pointed out Jkay with some of ziggy's handywork applied over top of the black numerals. Whatever it is, it looks awesome! And for $88.00 how can you go wrong with this?
  21. Thanks Jkay. I checked it out, but it has black printed numbers. I really like the look of the lume on Gran's. Is that an aftermarket lume job Gran? 'Cause it looks sick
