  1. Can you ID a good source for that MM - the only ones I have seen have been for ridiculous money. Bill
  2. I like Seikos but my diving watches do not hack and they cannot be manually wound. Is there a reasonably priced Seiko that hacks and has manual wind capability? Bill
  3. Ahhhhh, there's hope for you after all! Can you name me a Bourbon that's not distilled in KY? Bill
  4. A question I am well suited to answer!!!!!!!! 1. Wild Turkey Rare Breed - 108 Proof 2. Bookers - 120 Proof 3 George T. Stagg - This stuff will knock your hat in the creek! 130-140 Proof by Buffalo Trace Distillery 4. Labrot & Graham Woodford Reserve - 90 Proof (Excellent) 5. Benchmark - Probably best Bourbon for the money (inexpensive) 6. Any of the other Wild Turkey batches (must be a dozen or so) 7. Van Winkle 15 YO 8. Bulleit (Older Stuff by Leestown before Buffalo Trace Distillery bought it) 9. Makers Mark 10. Evan Williams (Either 15 YO or 23 YO) 107 Proof Worst = Ten High. This is a common bar staple so do NOT drink well bourbon Bill
  5. Being from Kentucky originally myself, I know that those poor souls who favor Tennessee whiskey simply don't know any better, I'll try and forgive your ignorance. Kentucky is known for three things - all tied to the same thing. Kentucky is where ALL bourbon comes from. Kentucky has uniquely blue grass, and Kentucky has the finest thoroughbred race horses anywhere. The link is the limestone rock that lets water flow thru where it is filterd to be wonderfully pure and it picks up a tremendous amount of calcium. That fine, pure, water is what Kentucky bourbon is made of. Now, as we all know, water flows from north to south here in this Country, and as common sense implies, all those fine race hourses drinking all that wonderfully pure water eventually have to pee - what do you suppose those folks in Tennesse are making that nasty Tennessee swill out of? Makers Mark Jim Beam Elijah Craig [censored] Creek Wild Turkey Woodford Reserve -- a personal favorite Bookers Ancient Age There is no good reason why anyone would ever drink anything from Tennessee - espcially that Jack [censored] Bill <-- Loyal Kentuckian and Lover of Fine Bourbon
  6. Wow, I got my VC today and hadn't unwrapped it til I read your post. I got mine from Joshua - all my screws unscrewed easily. I did thm all just to check for those who are worried. It's sure a pretty thing and it is correct to the second with the atomic clock (but only set it about ten hours ago). Maybe Joshua sent me a real one by mistake? LOL Hope you get things straightened out. Bill
  7. Try King - I have bought several POs thus far from different dealers - hers are excellent. Bill
  8. I'd not even bring Ms. King into this. I have bought a lot of watches from her, and had very few problems. On those rare occasions when there was a problem, she dealt with it right away with no nonsense. I feel comfortable saying that the defects you pictured in that watch did not come from Ms. King. No way does she send out crap like that. Bill
  9. Between the sig pics posted by you and Dani, whoo needs a girlfriend? LOLLLLLL Bill
  10. I gotta flame - but not for you. I already cut lose with that flame a while back, on this exact same issue, but not this person. When a forum like this gets turned into such a circle-jerk, stroke the homeboy, fan club that people are afraid to post the truth, it isn't fair to anyone. In fact, it entirely defeats the reason for the forum's existence. I don't know Joe, or anything about Joe, but I have been reading the posts. If the Forum Admin gets to the point that they think something is awry, they are in a position to investigate it and deal with it - in whichever way is appropriate once they know what is going on. On the other hand, nobody has any reasonable expectation that anyone will do anything about an issue they keep silent about. Bill
  11. Time is Mother Nature's way of keeping everything from happening at once. Bill
  12. That Conquistador is a very, very nice watch so I think you should get it and the 177H. Bill
  13. Damn Chronus, I just wanna know how I can hire someone looks like that to be my cleaning lady. Whoever is squeezing that could not possibly be appreciative enough! Between you and Dani, you guys are murder. LOL Bill
  14. As an investor, you are entitld to a copy of the company's Annual Report - apparently, someone with an address similar to yours was supposed to get that. Sounds like a secretarial screw up. Bill
  15. I think there may be. I got a good deal on a pair of 40GB Ipods on EBay but they did not come packaged like the ones I bought at the store. They worked fine though. Personally, I would recommend buying the real thing as they ar not that expensive and they work wonderfully well. I play mine thru my sound system in my Corvette and it makes for an awesome road trip. Bill
  16. Huh? Let's just say that I have a friend who downloaded music off the net when downloding music of the net was easy to do. I . . . er, my friend accumulated pretty much every song he ever liked and every song by every artist who ever did a song he ever liked - something like, oh . . . maybe 15 GB worth of MP3s. That 15 GB is currently residing on an IPOD that plays them perfectly well. Install the software and it finds the songs (like from Music Match for instance) and it converts them into ITunes files. No problemo. In fact, those songs have been iinstalled on various IPODs belonging to various family members (of my friend's), all of which are doing just fine. Bill
  17. The more of this sort of garbage that I see, the more I enjoy watching the rep industry develop. I know that rep dealers and manufacturers violate all sorts of laws, but sometimes there are situations where some mutt needs his ass whipped. Rolex, Franck Muller, and their ilk get no sympathy from me. Bill
  18. I'm having chest pain. I am going to show that to my wife so she knows how fortunate she is that I am behaving with restraint and moderation. Bill
  19. I have an Orange PO from King and a black PO from Joshua here in front of me - both have similar sweeps much like the Rolex reps. Bill
  20. I thought I mentioned it, but I checked to see if anyone else was a likely candidate. There is no othr Vince/Vincent Barone with a driver's license, credit, or vehicle registration record related to this guy and I found nobody else at his address other than his current wife. Bill
  21. I tested the 40mm Joshua is selling and the 42.5 that Ms. King sells - 2 from Josh and 3 from Ms. King. I posted the results with all the pics previously, but the bottom line is, they all proved to be waterproof to at least 4ATM (132FT) Orange from Ms. King Black from Ms. King Black from Joshua Orange from Joshua Bill
  22. Your best bet would be toapply for copies of your credit report from all three bureaus. You can find the information on how to do that on the net. They have to give you the info free. Bill
  23. Nope. Completely unrelated. Just to illustrate my point in my prior note re leopards and spots, Scott Allen Hawkins is a 39 year old who has been twice sued by Rolex, USA. He was sued in US District Court in 2000 (Case Number 1:00cv2538) and he was sued again in 2004 (1:04cv400) There is also a collections agency after him - AAA Collectors is trying to collect a judgment entered in 2005 for $1774. There is also a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Case under his social security number filed in Little Rock Arkansas in 1996 - since the SSN is a match, he apparently was an Arkansas resident prior to relocating to Colorado. Bill
  24. Hi Joshua, As your own personal detective in residence, I gotta tell you that there is something odd about this. This guy isn't a dead beat. The guy you are referring to is Vincent M. Barone. I have his DOB, Colorado Driver's License Number and Social Security Number. He's a middle aged man with no history of litigation (other than divorcing his ex in 1994). He is remarried, and he owns a very nice home, with a significant mortgage. I considered the possibility that he might have a son by the same name, but if he did, there should be a drivers license showing a younger date of birth - there isn't. Further, nobody but him and his wife have vehicles registered to that address. In my experience, leopards do not change spots - if this guy was a petty scam artist, there should be all kinds of garbage out there like lawsuits, bankruptcy, tax liens, and that sort of thing. I think you should consider the possibility that he's telling you the truth. If so, and he does not know you as we do, he could easily be convinced that you are just another thief from the other side of the globe. Bill
