  1. My point, as I expressed earlier, is that I do not like bullies. The threats were one thing, but the, "in your face" nonsense that followed was uncalled for - and I would think that the responses you got should make that clear. As for May 19th, I don't know what you are talking about -and don't care, unless you are saying that Veni did something on May 19th that justifies your behavior. The log in isn't complicated. TJ is a kind of Jeep, I live in the 'Glades and we had a jeep club here. I don't know whether you're a genius or not, but I do know how to spell it. Now, and once again, why don't we just agree to all play nicely with one another. Bill
  2. No, I don't know anything about the events of May 19th - but I don't like bullies. I wasn't going to take sides over the threat as I don't know what precipitated it, but this latest slap in the face was way over the top. My suggestion to you is that we all play nicely with one another. Ya gotta admit, the picture was cute! TJ is a kind of Jeep. I live in the Glades and we once had a Jeep Club. Bill
  3. Dear Elliot, I replied to your thread but thought I would post this special for you as I want to make sure you don't miss it. I have read your posts, and I'm not sure where the arrogant, holier than thou nonsense comes from. Still, I guess the arrogant hypocritical schtik is up to you, but I don't see the justification for the threatening language. Veni doesn't appear to want to do business with you for some reason, but I know just the strap you need - it has a beautiful Cartier logo on it that . . . or maybe not. A fine, upstanding fella like you probably wouldn't want any part of a Lantham Act violation - especially with that Permanent Injunction that's got your name on it. http://www.fraudsandscams.com/EAL-injuntion.pdf I don't really know Veni, but I've done a little business with him and he seems a decent sort. I don't know what motivates you to be threatening, and now rude, but the problem with being a bully is that some people will not abide it. I've been a detective for about thirty years now, and Im not particularly blessed with a lot of patience. Elliot Lazarus 01/10/1947 Elliot, I am sure you're a real mean man back wherever it is you came from, and of course I know exactly where you come from, but if you are going to be slinging threats and promises around, you best prepare yourself to have someone willing to embarrass you put you back in short pants. You've had the benefit of about fifteen minutes of my time - but there's a lot more to say; if you can't play nice, stand by. Can't we all just get along? Bill
  4. Why sure Elliot, I know just the strap - it has a beautiful Cartier logo on it that . . . oh wait, you wouldn't to be caught in possession of anything with a Cartier logo on it now would you? http://www.fraudsandscams.com/EAL-injuntion.pdf I am not sure what would possess you to come to this forum and be such a threatening and intimidating figure, but you might want to rethink that before someone willing to embarrass you puts you back in short pants. Elliot Lazarus 01/10/1947 I'm sure you're a real mean man Elliot back wherever it is you came from, but you best quit while you're behind here. You don't want it. Bill
  5. Ya know Veni, ya best be careful. I done heard tell that thar's people out there what ken start with nuthin more than yer name, or a phone number, or an address . . . next thing ya know, they got yer nat'ral ass nekkid to the world. I reckon folks like that could be dangerous. Bill
  6. Not to mention that they had been sending him nasty grams for years that he apparently ignored. As a good friend of mine used to say, "If you're gonna be stupid, you gotta be tough." Some people are too stupid to survive. Bill
  7. Have you got a source the rest of us don't have? I have about twenty Rolexes, but I am still searching for that PERFECT 1680, and 1665. Bill
  8. My Omega Only ten-box is on the bedside table. Still, at fifty-something, Tanfo makes me feel conservative. Bill
  9. WTF Dude, I get the Karma concept, good man retreats crap and all that, but don't be letting some two-bit fookwit run you off. Why not just have him killed? Besides, I may need a good deal on another strap. Bill
  10. Yes, much like the GMT II currently offered but I am told that this newer version will be dramatically improved over what is currently available. Bill
  11. Since we were discussing this notorious (and in my view extortionate) piece of nasty correspondence people refer to as the "Rolex Letter," where they reportedly threaten to sue you for a million dollars unless you send them $300, I found myself wondering how many people Rolex has actually sued here in the US over the last several years. I find forty-one (41) lawsuits filed in federal court (searching all circuits) since January 1, 2003. Civil Name Search Results 41 Total Party matches for selection ROLEX after 01/01/2003 for ALL COURTS Search Complete Sun May 21 13:01:55 CDT 2006 Selections 1 through 41 (Page 1) Don't get the idea that they focused on 41 poor slobs who wanted a Sub they could not afford. I searched their most recent case, and uploaded the Complaint (the Court filing that Rolex uses to tell the Court what the lawsuit is about) so you could read it. Rolex Case If that doesn't work for you, the URL is http://www.fraudsandscams.com/Rolex/05-cv-01045-JSM-MAP.pdf As you can see, Rolex is after the big boys who are in the distribution business. If you look at that list of lawyers (on their side), none of those guys bills at less than $300 an hour. While Rolex may very well send out scary lettrs, and extort those who fear them into sending them $300, I find it impossible to believe that they are going to sue you for buying watches for yourself. Imagine the publicity nightmare. If anyone has one of those letters, I'd like to have an original. Since I am quite sure Rolex monitors this forum, maybe you guys would like to send me one? PM me for name and address. Thanks, Bill
  12. I believe you - I have heard about this letter but I have never seen one. I am curious to see what they offer as their rationalization. It is completely legal to buy all the reps you want in this country, and unless you have some kind of relationship with Rolex, I don't see the basis for any obligation. What they do have to threaten you with is "slap litigation" which is to say they have the lawyers on staff to ruin a person forced to pay a lawyer to defend them. If you don't need to hire a lwayr to draft and file responsive pleadings, I don't see that they can effectively do anything to you for buying watches. I would like to have an original of one of those letters though. Bill
  13. I would like very much to have a copy of that letter - or the original if they will part with it. Bill
  14. People can say what they like about the rep industry, but I am sure that a lot of rep owners own, and can afford gens. I have sure learned a lot screwing around with the reps. For example, I first thought Rolex bracelets felt cheap with their hollow links, especially when compared to watches like the 9937 Invicta with it's incredible bracelet. After slowly migrating to nice shark or stingray straps on Sub Style watches, I find that the only bracelets I like are the hollow ones. Also, I didn't think I'd like the SD with its no mag date, but after wearing Subs and SDs, I find that the unmag date is actually more legible because you don't have angle distortion. I would have never believed that I would like a 44mm watch and there is no way I would have ever bought one - but sine reps are relatively inexpensive, I tried some Pams and found that I really like them - especially my PVD 028. I always thought Chronos looked very cool, until I started wearing them and found that the busy dials were too confusing to read at a glance. I like my Breitling collection for the occasional wear, but I am sure glad I have no real money invested. Similarly, I would never have believed that I would wear any watch by Chanel - and porcelain seems like a crazy thing to make a watch out of. I got Ms. King's best J-12, and I find that it is one of my favorite watches. That bracelet has a feel that you would recognize instantly with your eyes closed. The most valuable thing other than the experience, has been the exposure to people who cheerfully serve as a wellspring of information like Ziggy and Joshua. Bill
  15. I am interested in GMTs with real GMT movements - unlike the Rx Subs and Om SMPs that I am aware of. Other than the Pams, which I have several of, are there any good GMTs out there with real GMT movements in them? I keep hearing that a real GMT Sub is coming, so I am looking forward to that. Bill
  16. Ohhhhhhh man! Now that's going to be my forever reply . . . that's hysterical! Bill
  17. That depends on circumstances. Generally, I say it's a fake - I'm not much for [censored]. If I don't want to answer, I say, "It was a gift so who knows - it's the thought that count anyway, right." Bill
  18. Welcome Ms. King, Glad to see you here - it has always been a pleasure to do business with you. Bill
  19. They were very competitively priced but I bought them as part of a large order so I don't know what an individual sale price would be. You can e-mail him at admin@perfect-clones.com If you look his site over, you'll see that he has a brand new case for his subs with better CGs. Bill
  20. I have been expanding my Rollie collection lately (If anyone has a perfect WM or MBW I'd be interested) and I bought some watches from Joshua that he has done some mods to. Joshua is offering subs that have a package deal on service, waterproofing and mods to CGs, Case and Bracelet. This is what I got when he did his thing to his best SS Sub. I will be testing them in my waterproof machine, and seeing if they keep time as well as he says, but thus far, I am pretty impressed with the work. I'd like to know what some of our mods people think. Bill
  21. Funny - we evidently have very similar tastes in dealers - I buy my watches from Joshua, Ms. King, and Eddie Lee, although I have also dealt with some others I know who are not on the board. I have bought a lot - although some here have it worse than me. I have more. When I first started (with others before I came here), I tracked packages, and learned I was being cheated . . . several times. I also agonized over Customs. I think that is a new buyer syndrome. One things you can know for sure - none of the above referenced folks will scam you. If they sold it, they send it. My very best advice is to thank dealers for the tracking numbers, and forget about it. It's amazing how many times packages appear at your door before they are trackable, and I never yet lost a watch to Customs. Don't sweat it - it's only a watch and if it gets seized, let the dealer who sold it to you know. Bill
  22. You may have been confused by the facts as I laid them out, but honest is not stupid. Bill
  23. BTW, the pic sux - it looks like the plating on the bezel is worn off but that's just because I don't have TTK's talent with a camera. That may not be much better - the watch itself looks great. Bill
  24. I have a beautiful Omega Double Eagle (looks like an overgrown vrsion of my TT Constellation) with the two tone gold a wrap instead of plate. The little pin thingy in the clasp fell out so Joshua sent me a new piece. I took it to a "30 YR Watchmaker" who is an AD of several high line watches to fix it as the stud needs to be removed and press fit into my watch clasp. He looked it over thru one of those headset loop things and then he asked about the watch. Thinking he was going to tell me it was a rep, I told him that my brother the doctor sent it to me as a gift, but knowing him, it's probably a fake. "Oh no," says he - "Don't you have any idea what this is?" I guess Joshua just screwed up and sent me the gen that the copies are made from. I wonder if my TT Constellation could be a gen too? LOLLLLLLLLLLL In a way though, it isn't funny. Reps as reps are one thing, but if they can be passed off as real, some bastard will do that and people will be defrauded. Bill
  25. The first ones didn't have it, but the more recent ones did. That particular short coming meant nothing to me though - the first bracelets w/o Planet Ocean were replaced with Shark bands. I switch most bracelets to Shark, Stingray or Gator because I don't like the weight. Bill
