  1. Guys, is it possible to remove the cyclops off these crystals? I've seen it done on various aftermarket rolex ones but not sure about these PAM crystals.
  2. This thread is throwing a spanner in the works... I have the cash to buy a nice vintage gen DJ but now I'm thinking I should get one of each rep 40mm PAM! :) :)
  3. Oh goody! I just sold my gen 48 last week... so I've been hoping to find some rep 40mm PAMs. I got a silix 49 delivered yesterday and it's a bit rough. Most noticeable issue is the lug holes are drilled crooked! The holes sit right on the edge of the upper part of the lug!
  4. Yeh that was my take too. Hey, I'm wearing the most copied watch ever... thats fine I get that. But this guy runs a shop, he sells heaps of watches and he's a watch maker... just appalling customer service! Wouldnt matter if I gave him a quartz sub to adjust, he should have smiled nicely, performed the task asked and politely given me back MY watch. Oh well... I'll tell everyone I know to not go there.....
  5. I took my gen 14060 into a local watchmaker to quickly have the clasp adjusted as the watch was a bit loose on my wrist (only picked it up that morning - I was too lazy to fiddle with the clasp myself and the dealer I got from was a 20min walk.. hey I'm lazy). Said watchmaker takes it out the back, adjusts the clasp and then returns it to me, throws it on the counter VERY roughly and quite aggressive... I then hear 'how much you pay for that fake rubbish' WTF??? I just spent 4k AUD on it.. fake my butt! I have to say having a so called professional behave like this nearly made my blood boil! Other than that, my colleagues know about my watch issues... so they do notice new watches but other than that, I rarely get asked if I'm wearing a rep or gen. As someone said on page 2 of this thread, I'm also new to wearing reps so I'm feeling a bit on edge about it and still deciding if it's for me. I've come from the other forums where its bad and I'm supporting illegal activity etc etc etc it takes a bit to get over that for some of us.. says she typing away with her new rep PAM049 on her wrist
  6. Lani - I LOVE that Tudor, it's sooooooooooooo nice
  7. As an Aussie, I can say it's nerve wrecking doing all this watch trading stuff. I'm impatient to recieve my parcels for sure BUT I'm more nervous shipping OS. I've just returned from the post office now after shipping the 204 and a OEM Panerai strap. I've insured both parcels and spent more money shipping than I intended, but thats for my piece of mind. The tracking numbers that I've been given at times are pretty much useless from Aus Post.. if you phone customer service they can give more direct answers than what you ever get online. Makes the buyer nervous. I've had genuine Panerais and Rolexs sent to me OS and boy oh boy, they resulted in sleepless nights. I'm not prepared to do that anymore.
  8. Make sure you buy one he's got ready made tho.. or you'll be waiting months and months and months for a custom order.
  9. AS a woman that wears mens watches, I quite often get asked 'Is this mens or womans this watch' and when I reply that I'm wearing a mens watch, I find sometimes the 'asker' will look down his nose at me like it's a sacrilege that I'm wearing 'his' watch. A guy at work asked me this very question recently when noticing my Submariner and he seemed somewhat upset that I had on a mens Rolex! So I spose this goes both ways. In general, I think people spend far too much time worrying/conmenting on the decisions of others! Wear whatever makes you happy I say!
  10. This is just an amazing piece, congratulations!! May you wear your Sub in the best of health Question for Ubi ( I did some basic searches, nothing came up yet) what case did you start off with with this project? I am upgrading my car, which means my gen 14060 will go, to help fund the car. So I'm thinking about what rep will replace it.. just love the look of these Tudors, so think I'll head in this direction. Be nice if I could buy a rep to wear whilst I collect the bits I'll need to mod it.
  11. Hi guys.... For ever now. I've really wanted a 40mm luminor sandwich dial base style luminor. So since finding this site, I've been wondering if it would be possible to build one. I could buy a rep 40mm Luminor, source a the movement and I'm guessing the dial would be the hardest part to tackle. A Rep 48 would have most of the bits I need ie the hands etc Does anyone make custom dials? Has anyone ever seen such a project be completed? Oh 44mm are uncomfortable for me. I've had Gens in the past and ended up hating them. The 40mm Luminor is perfect for me Am I dreamin???
  12. Great topic! Today I was looking at possibly buying a new Mini Cooper. I'm in the showroom wearing my Gen PAM048. First thing I notice on the sales guy is that he's wearing a Rep Panerai! I was actually kinda chuffed by it. We were talking about a deal (bloody good deal too, but my partner said no ) and I just said to him 'dude is that a fake Panerai???' he goes 'yeh sure is, isn't it cool' I said 'sure is, here put it next to my real one' he did that and we compared them for a min or two. It was fun. I think the way he handled it was really good, just up front and proud. Who cares they are just 'things' at the end of the day. People get too hung up on 'things'. Love your Tudor, its a great looking watch. In Aus, you'd be lucky to ever get pulled up on that one.. nobody would know. I must say, since finding this site.. I'm very tempted to sell my PAM048 and put the money towards buying a MINI hmmmmmmm I now know that I can have lots of fun buying and building reps.
  13. One thing that is very scary about this site is how good reps actually are. And goes to show just how careful one has to be when laying down huge chunks of cash for a genuine item. It might take me a while to get used to this site. Coming from many other sites, where even a homage is frowned upon... it is sorta strange seeing so many replicas. Id say theres a lot that can be learned on this site. I look forward to learning and participating. Cheers
  14. The 14060 is an icon, also predicted to be the next boom Sub (if we ever get out of this economic slump) as far as T dials go. LOVE mine :D I actually traded a 14270 for this one. The little Explorer just didnt do it for me, so I picked up this one instead. Wearing the PAM048 has made me a size queen... anything smaller than 40mm feels insignificant on the wrist I'm afraid!
  15. I think it fits you perfectly. Wristshots usually make watches appear bigger on the wrist than how they look in person. So I'd say this one fits you great. Spectacular piece that XXL Railmaster!
  16. I have seen some posts that may be deemed offensive. I'd prefer it if these types of photos didnt appear in any threads I start. Also, any threads that contain nudity should have a warning so people can choose IF/WHEN they open these posts. I'm interested in watches, nothing else Thanks for the welcome guys.
  17. Thanks Ken - I've been 'into' watches for years and years now! So I know my way around Thanks for the other comments too. I'll have to say ick to Chanel tho, not my cuppa tea at all. I'm more into the same watches all you guys like! The TT desire is new and unusual for me, I'm not really a gold wearing person.... but you know what it's like when we WIS get an idea in our heads
  18. Hi there Great forum here I'm another female watch fanatic! I currently own a Gen PAM 048 and a Gen Sub No Date 14060... and now I can't stop thinking about a TT watch of some sort.. being somewhat fickle previously, I thought I'd try a Rep TT DJ before buying the real thing.. or not! just in case I dont like it. My fickleness has caused me to lose quite a bit of cash over the years, and I'm not wanting to do that anymore. Only thing now is that I also want a TT DJ and a 42mm Radiomir which I hear is quite hard to find... So wish me luck
