  5. I live in Osaka, Japan and they do have a few dodgy reps that sell in Osaka City centre (Umeda and Namba) but they are ll asian and will set you back $200. Stick to the beautiful food and sightseeing in Japan and to our good dealers here for the watches. As the previous post says 'nothing to see' sorry to disappoint

  8. Hi All I really want the PAM 29/63 ETA 2893-2 GMT watch but unfortunately its now discontinued BUT they do have the same watch with ETA 2836 modified. Do you think its possible to get the ETA 2836 model and swap the movement for a ETA 2893-2 GMT?? As i understand the ETA 2893-2 is slightly thinner movement, smaller height but only by 1 mm. Anyway does anyone think its possible. Thanks Joe
  9. Hi DONT touch anthing that you have talked about!!! Move the other 'Thing' See my pic Also here is some useful, info about changing the rate of the watch: To slow the timing, move the two dot lever closer to the big lever. To speed up the timing, move the two dot lever farther away from the big lever. Hope this helps Joe
  10. Hi Ive been reading The Zigmeisters post on the ETA 2836 modified to be a GMT movement. The Zigmeisters review is of a 2836 modified to be a GMT for a rolex watch. It has the hand stack like rolex ie the hour hand is closest to the dial and then the GMT hand. The Zigmeister states that this causes the Hour hand to be independantly adjustable NOT the GMT hand My question is for the other GMT watches with modified 2836 like the PAM 29/63, Omega seamaster etc.... These watches have the GMT hand on the bottom of the stack and closest to the dial so these watches funciotn correctly?? ie the GMT hand is adjustable?? Does anyone have these watches or a GMT watch with the GMT hand closet to the Dial and can comment. Any clarification would be great Thanks Joe
  11. Hi Im trying to find out what are the hand sizes for the ETA 2892 movement. Is it different from the ETA 2836?? 90/150/25?? Does anyone know? Thanks
  12. OK The plate on the chinese PTS movement looks exactly the same as the plate on the ETA 2892 with power reserve. Check it out on ofrei http://www.ofrei.com/page_183.html Its the ETA 2892-A2 Nickel Plated Special Model. Ive ordered the PAM 27 from Silix at $80 so ill take the plate off and check it out. Ill post pics of it when ive done it. Itll be interesting to see how the power reserve is incorporated into the movement. By the way Ofrei sells some of these chinese movements, check them out here http://www.ofrei.com/page1119.html at really cheap prices around $20. But idont know about the quality
  13. I knew id seen this movement before Check it out here: http://www.ptsresources.com/ Click on automatics and its number 10) DG-3886 Automatic Mechanical Watch Movement spec is not so good +/-60secs per day!!!
  14. Great pics SSS but the pics only show us the top of the movement, Can you take the top plate off the movement so we can see how the power reserve is attached or if it is built into the movement??. @freeman, or whatever your name is - I already have the swiss version of this watch, which i love to pieces. This is a rep forum where people come to have fun and talk about watches and any mods. So take it easy before you blast off!!!!!
  15. I dont want to sound rude but i dont think you know much about this model. The PAM 27 has had different types of power reserve arrow. please check it out here direct from the PANERISTI website http://www.paneristi.com/reference/vendome...meframeset.html click on PAM27 on the left hand side and then look closely at the second picture. You see the Power reserve arrow..... Yes the CG isnt great but you criticise the movement. Its maybe a Seagull movement which are great. Please check it out Thanks Joe
  16. what?? you think its Ugly?? Its a PAM 27!!!!!!!!
  17. Hi I need to get a nice watch fo the Mrs and was wondering whats the most accurate Womens Watch on the market? Any ideas? preferably NOT Rolex (too common) and NO Diamonds (too blingy) Thanks Joe
  18. Hi does anyone know this seller on ioffer?? Username 'TOS' and watch store 'MAXXWATCH' http://www.ioffer.com/i/11080804 Id like to get in contact with him so if anyone has bought from him please send the email address. Thanks Joe
  19. Hi Kruzer I think your talking about a different watch. Im not talking about the Asian PAMs with Power reserve at 4 oclock position - these movements are different, I know IM talking about the PAM 27 with power reserve at 6 oclock. Like this: http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1486 the date is adjusted in the normal way by pulling out the crown I think it might have a similar movement to the ETA 2892 but i may be wrong. I know its a long shot but at least its a shot Also im not trying to undermine the great wealth of knowledge here but actually no one actually knows what kind of movement is in the Asian version of the PAM 27. it would be very interesting to find out.....
  20. Hi Actually i think the ETA 2892 and the Seagull copy of the this movement are basically identical. the plates are the same. check it out here: http://www.chronometrie.com/eta2892/eta289202.html the seagull here: http://www.tjseagull.com/chanpzs_jxzsst18.html The plates look exactly the same to me??? Yes? Actually i have a seagull ST-18 in my hand and i can tell you that the plates are the same. Ill try and take pics asap.
  21. Hi Some clarification would be nice. From what ive read the Asian Power reserves are made by a company called Seagull. the Power reserves at 4 oclock position are a different style of movement as far as i know. but the power reserve at 6 oclock may be a different movement. Seagull make a movement just like the ETA 2892 so maybe it uses this. Do you have any other news on this Thanks Joe
  22. Hi Thanks for the advice. For now im going to buy the asian power reserve and see how the power reserve is attached. Ill post pics when i get it. ill let everyone know how it works out. If possible then it will be a great way to save money... for $80 its worth a shot and if the power reserve is built in then i can just re assemble the watch again. All will not be lost.. hopefully Thanks Joe
  23. Maybe i should clarify I have a PAM 27 with ETA 2892 Sopras power reserve moule that i paid a lot of money for and had to justify it to the Mrs for a long time. I love this watch and have to say that its my favourite watch. However ive seen that Silix has this watch with asian movement and power reserve for $80!!! only $80 sooooo cheap!! You can get a new ETA 2892 for Ebay for $150 So total for the Asian PAM 27 and ETA movement is $230. If the Asian power reserve module will fit on the ETA 2892 then you have a very cheap PAM 27 with GEN ETA movement and Power reserve just like the GEN. Josh and other sell this watch for around $600. If you can do it my way then youll save a whopping $370!!!!!! Does that clear this up?? If this works then ill do it and sell the ETA 2892 that i have
