  1. Just in case somebody stumbles upon this thread...Both Pure Time and Perfect Clones can get the crystals for around $60. -D
  2. I recently purchased an IWC 3717 from Joshua (it's a V3 I believe). I managed to get a small scratch in the Crystal, I was able to polish it so that it is mostly invisible...but, I would still like to replace it. Does anybody know where I could source a replacement? I'd probably send the new one to Chief first to get his AR treatment prior to replacement... Thanks! D
  3. Thanks Zig! I'll listen to your and Ubi's advice and leave it alone. For identification purposes does the movement appear to be a Asian 7750-2? And if so what is your opinion on them? Should I have I serviced soon like the other 7750s? Thanks for the help...
  4. I've been to that guide, but my 7750 doesn't look like the 7750 in the guide. Mine has a Fine Scale Regulation arm...I could PM you the pictures if that'd help... D
  5. OK, so I knew it would be hard to answer my question without pictures of my movement, so...I opened it back up and here are the pictures... Hope these help... D
  6. I have a new rep IWC 3717 with the 28.8K movement that is running about 15 seconds fast per day. I know that is within spec, but I would like to slow it down a bit. I've read the threads on adjusting movements, and have regulated my Swiss ETA 2836-2 movement to within about 2 seconds per day. I have borrowed some pictures since I didn't take pictures while I had to watch open... I was expecting to see something like this: A movement with no regulator. I was expecting to have to adjust the actual arm to slow the movement. But instead I found a movement like this, which has a regulator (less the H logo, of course). My question is...will adjusting the regulator, as opposed to the arm adjust the hairspring, or is the regulator a "non-functioning" one? Sorry for the lack of my own pictures, but I didn't think to take pictures while I had it open, and I understand if you can't answer my question without seeing my movement... Thanks, D
  7. Mmmm...Shave Ice from Matsumoto's after a day at Lanikai beach...but no beans! Now that's a vacation
  8. IWC, no question! But I might be slightly biased !
  9. I just got this in the mail today! I think it'll be on the wrist for a while! Let me know what you think...it may need a visit to Chief Tang for new AR! (this is my first time posting pictures, so let me know how they look!)
  10. Thanks for the help everybody! I've spoken to the dealer where I bought it and he has agreed to help me out, either by exchanging for the black dialed model which appears to be a better rep, or by finding me a white faced, black hand unit. And I am definitely falling into the "get only the best reps" mentality
  11. I found my camera - here is a better picture....
  12. I don't think it's a Miyota 8215 because it does have the hacking feature (second hand stops when you pull out the crown). Does that make finding the hands any easier?
  13. Thanks Paralizer! I found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/WATCH-HAND-FOR-GMT-MER...%3A1%7C294%3A30 Which appears to be Black GMT Style hands for a ETA 2893-2. How can I tell if those hands will fit my movement? Are the hands universally sized or??? Thanks!
  14. Hello RWG! This is my first post, so forgive me if I am doing this wrong. I purchased a cheap rep White Faced Explorer II. It turned out to be a pretty nice rep, except for one glaring problem. It has the black faced, silver edged hands, instead of the correct black edged hands. I think that makes it look kinda cheesy. Anyways, I want to get the correct black hands for the watch (aftermarket hands are fine), but I don't know where to find them and which ones will fit with this movement. The place I bought it from claim that it is a Japanese movement, but from I have gathered from RWG, it probably doesn't mean anything. So, my questions are: 1. Can I get the black hands somewhere? (I already have a case opener and hand puller, so I can put the hands on) 2. Which hands do I get to match this movement, and how do I determine which movement it is? Thanks for any and all help! - Determined Noob (Sorry for the poor picture quality, I don't have my camera with me)
