  1. Hi RWG - I have an Omega 2220.80 with an ETA movement (It's from Eurotimez and he at least claims that it is a ETA) and I have a problem. It arrived yesterday, and I set the date and time. I set the time first (2:00 pm) and then the date just to be sure I would have any trouble with setting the date to close to midnight (I verified 12:00 am by rolling through a 24 hour period and watched the date change). Everything seemed ok, I woke up this morning to notice that the date hadn't changed. So I began to roll through the 24 hours just to make sure I wasn't off on the time change, and it rolled all the way through with no date change. So I manually changed the date ahead a couple of days, and rolled through the time again, and this time the mechanism got tight at around 7:00, so I backed up the time and rolled forward again, it got tight again, and then the hour hand jumped backward to six. Now the hour hand is frozen at 6:00 and the minute hand adjusts freely. The movement is still ticking...I sent an email to Eurotimez to see what he wants to do, but I thought I'd check here to see if it's just a simple fix or not... Thanks DB2
  2. I like this one on the bass! Was this with an SLR? What lens to blur both foreground and background? Or was it done processing?
  3. Got a new one in yesterday...Omega Seamaster 2220.80. I think it looks, pearl is centered - too big, but centered, HE valve is ever so slightly offset at 10...but the bracelet is amazing! Screws instead of pins, but the clasp is waaay nicer than on my 42mm Planet Ocean! The feet on the Omega point up a little bit but not terribly ..Anyways - wearing it at least thru tomorrow!
  4. hmmm....I had the camera zoomed all the way out...I could have sworn I was that close....I'll go home and re-enact just to check
  5. Hey Toadtorrent - I thnk they are the way to go! The prices are fairly reasonable, at least I think. I picked mine up with 2 lenses for $600. Just as a note, these pictures were taken indoors, with the lights off and just the light spilling in through the window shutters, no flash. Big lenses make a big difference!
  6. Well I bit the bullet and bought a DSLR, Nikon D60, with two lenses 18-55mm VR, and 55-200mm VR, and it is probably the coolest thing I've ever bought...well expect for maybe my reps Here are a couple of quick photos that I shot with the 18-55mm lens from about 2-5" away...very cool, no tripod or lightbox....Although I probably should have dusted the watch a little first, I never had to do that with my Point-and-Shoot...it didn't make clear enough pictures to notice!
  7. Thanks! Work was a little slow today but I thought I'd contribute!
  8. All right...here's my entry...I've never tried anything like this before, but, I figured, heck! Why Not?
  9. I won't be there, but I have been the last 2 years in San Diego and they are awesome!
  10. Bump...Anybody??? If not, I'll buy the big box and if anybody wants any pins, let me know, as I will have plenty!
  11. 4th Gen 42mm PO found

  12. Hey arniezac - How did you remove the insert? D
  13. Friday, Saturday, Sunday...it's new, what can I say...
  14. Hi RWG - I just recently purchased a 42mm 4th Gen Planet Ocean and it's great except for one thing...the bracelet is a pain in the butt to adjust. It uses a combination of pin's and tubes to attach the adjustable links together. I have all the right tools to do the job myself (two different styles of pin pressing tools) and they work to get the pin mostly out, at which point you are supposed to use a pair of pliers to pull the pin out the rest of the way. However, this is nearly impossible to do. Maybe it's just my particular piece, but , jeesh! So...on with my question. In the process of pulling 2 Links and 1 Half-Link I managed to break most of the pins. I had enough to reassemble the bracelet, but one of the pins broke at a point long enough to work, but just barely. It's just making me kind of nervous that the pin may slip and send the watch crashing to the floor. (the pin reaches 2mm into each side of the link, compared to the 4mm that it should reach) I went to Ofrei to buy a new pin, but they only seem to sell it in a kit of 70 or so pieces of varying size for $35. I am hoping that I can buy just the one from somebody on the board. Here are the specs on what I need: Tube outer diameter = 1.20mm Pin length = 18mm Hopefully somebody has one out there and can help a brother out...or if somebody knows where I could acquire just the one or two that I need vs buying enough for everybody on RWG, RWI, and Repgeek Thanks -D
  15. After reading Ubiquitous' Building the Ultimate 4th Gen 42mm PO: Completion I decided I needed to do something similar. So I hunted down a NOS 4th Gen 42MM Planet Ocean and it arrived today! Now I need to start bringing in the Genuine Parts...one at a time! If anybody has a gen bezel and insert, gen hands, or a gen dial laying around that they want want to sell let me know...Here are some pics, not all that great, but I am getting a little better
  16. I think I found one, similar in color from a shop in Austria...should be here in a couple of weeks...
  17. Ubi - do you know what color that G10 strap is called? Brown? Olive Brown? Searching the bay...
  18. I actually think that color looks pretty cool! I may have to hunt one down....
  19. Talk about expensive...did anybody catch this one...Platinum Braclet? I know it's platinum, but jeesh!
  20. Problem solved, thanks to another awesome member, concepta! The quality of the membership here is amazing!!!
  21. Hey Guys - I've had this 3717 for a little while now and one thing has always bugged me. The corner of the bottom (6:00 side) end link came "chipped". The corner of it was just missing. If anybody out there have a spare laying around, I am willing to buy it, of course? It's for a V3 if that makes any difference... Thanks in advanced! David
