  1. Hey Guys - I posted there as well - but I think I found a NOS from one of the dealers. He is guaranteeing that it is a 4th Gen...we'll see what happens!
  2. Howdy Folks - I am looking for a 4th Gen 42.5/42mm Planet Ocean. If anybody has one, let me know! Thanks, DB2
  3. On my V3 rep, when you remove the Caseback, there is another movement "cover" that just sits over the movement. I would consider that to be the antimagnetic lid. -D
  4. It is a rep, and here is the picture. I had to adjust the picture to make the Seamaster readable - so ignore the overly washed out areas. I believe it would be accurate of it were the quartz version...
  5. Hey RWG - Got a quick question...I am in the process of buying an Omega Seamaster Pro (The Bond one - without the Bond Logos 2220.80.00) and I received some pictures of it. The problem is the Red "Seamaster" lettering is down at the 6:00 position (where the White Seamaster logo is) instead of at the 12:00 position, like pictured on Omega's website and several dealers websites. This is totally wrong I believe...am I correct? Thanks! -Ds
  6. That is pretty funny! But, Apple has started doing "on-site" repairs for areas that have the have local authorized repair centers. I had the Logic Board and LCD replaced on my iMac last month. I have Apple Care and am 2 years into the warranty period. They sent out a tech and had both parts replaced in less than an hour! I was pretty impress! I don't think Dell or HP do that
  7. So...is this the Correct Hand Stack version? :-) Congrats on the purchase!
  8. +1...crucial.com is a great source!
  9. I'm Jealous! I only have a 24" iMac 2.8ghz & 4gb of RAM! I guess it's time to upgrade! Ha! I re-wrote our full database at work from Access to MySql and PHP to live in the Mac environment full time! I am becoming too much of a Mac Evangelist!
  10. Hi Rob - The computer does come with a pretty good suite of software. The only real thing you'd need to buy for "home" use might be Apple's version of office, called iWork. It has 3 programs, a Word Processor called Pages, Spreadsheet Program called Numbers (Excel), and Presentation Program called Keynote (PowerPoint). And unlike Micro$oft you can buy it for about $100. As for the Airport, that is my understanding. I haven't used an airport for that purpose, but from what I've read - you are correct - remote access to the storage drive is possible. -David
  11. Just in case you needed another Mac vote, here it is. I had been a Windows only Mac basher forever! Mac's crashed for no reason, not a lot of 3rd party software...yada..yada...yada...but, I ended up needing one for work for video production so I bought one. It had some problems with reliability (crashing issues) when running the older 10.4 software, however, since the release of there newest operating system 10.5 Leopard, and the switch to Intel machines, I have nothing but praise for them. I have switched all of my servers, desktops, and laptops to Apple units and I couldn't be happier! Unbelievably solid and easy to use. It may take a little time getting used to the different OS, but it's worth the learning curve!
  12. Hey Guys - Need some help here... I received a Exp II from an outside dealer (I know, I know, but I ordered it before I met you guys ) and it came with a little problem...The bezel was misaligned (Duh, they all come that way), and two, the bezel was slightly lifted from the case. No prob, I can fix that...so I pop off the bezel and crystal. I don't know if this is standard for the Explorer IIs, but the Crystal and Bezel are held to the case by compressing on to a raised ring on the front of the case. Then I found the problem. When the bezel had been installed by the factory they had folded the "compression ring", which is the reason why bezel wasn't sitting flush...here is the 1st picture showing the problem: and picture 2: I guess what I need to do is buy a replacement ring and press everything back together. But I don't know where to get the ring (ofrei.com?) or what the ring is even called. Hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction...Here are my measurements of bezel, ring and crystal: Bezel: ID 31.25mm, OD 39.15, width 4mm Crystal: OD 30.5mm x 1.55mm thick Ring: Height 2.45mm 1.4mm thick Thanks for any help you guys can offer! -D
  13. @Ubi Did you have all that work done on a V3 3717? Did you have a Swiss ETA installed, did Zig source it?
  14. Are there any guides to reducing/broaching the hands of the V3 (high beat movement) hands to fit the 7750 or 79320?
  15. Tues: 3717 V3...and I should be getting a new toy in the mail today
  16. Marketing at a small business, I design mailers, magazine ads, and also do the CRM Database development for the company...not quite as cool as making commercials, but it does pay the bills
  17. Thurs: Rolex GMT IIc I like the wristies with the Porche's and other sports cars, so I thought I would add my own, 1973 Dodge Mini-Winnie Motorhome
  18. Fixed it! I found a stainless steel pin that was 2.2mm. Then, using my dremel and micrometer, I measured the original pin, and went to work grinding/filing down the 2.2mm pin to 1.9mm at the head, and 2mm down from the head to 1.6mm to the end...and now I have a newly replaced pin in the bracelet!!!
  19. Hi RWG - I was admiring my IWC 3717 (V3) last night, and I noticed that I was missing one of the pins that attach the bracelet to the clasp/latch. There are two 1/2 length pins, one per side. They are are solid ss pins, not screws, or split pins. I drove the pin out of the opposite side to take to a few jewelers, hoping that they would just have one in stock. However, nope, nobody (and I went to four watch-smiths) has one, or has seen a pin of this style. I also found out why the other pin is lost, the one pin I had fits tight in it's original hole, but is loose in the missing pins hole. I found, and ordered the following from Ofrei. Part number MM-M124 http://www.ofrei.com/page409.html Maybe somebody here knows if this is the best solution, or if there is a better one... Thanks! -D
  20. Not a fan...but to each his own...
  21. Now that's funny! Sending out mass emails now Sorry, I forgot I wasn't supposed to post here...my bad
  22. Most people don't ask...the only people who have asked are close friends. I am honest with them but then I go on to point out how good the rep is and what few flaws it has... I've never had a stranger ask anything about my watches...
  23. Right: being or located on or directed toward the side of the body to the east when facing north... Direction: The spatial relation between something and the course along which it points or move... This should "Explain" the "Right Direction"
  24. I got it from Perfect Clones. Smooth transaction, arrived 4 days after ordering (I'm on the west coast). I believe it is a V3 because it has the double AR, other than that I am not exactly sure what makes it a V3... -Dds
