Well I decided to go one more step...Gen Crown and Tube. I found the Crown and Tube from CousinsUK and they arrived yesterday! Got the watch disassembled...got out the old, press-in tube using Pugwash's rat-tail file method (http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/101638-ultimate-planet-ocean-upgrades/), which is great by-the-way, and then followed arniezac's post on how measure the stem length (http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/104054-upo-how-to-install-a-tube-and-crown/), but...they were both using 45mm versions of the UPO which use a different Rep crown then the one on my 42mm 4th Gen Version. My 42mm version has a longer stem-to-crown attaching point than the Genuine, which made the original stem too short when attached to the Genuine crown, so...I had to order a couple of new stems from Ofrei. They should be here tomorrow and I will update, with pictures of the process, then... So, as a note, if you are planning on adding a Gen Crown and Tube to your 42mm Planet Ocean, order a new stem with the Crown and Tube... Pics coming tomorrow!

I had a similar experience in my younger days, and I mean younger, like 10 years ago, I had scratch up a crystal on a Kenneth Cole watch. I then ordered a replacement, hoping that it would just "pop" into place...it didn't so I decided to use my old buddy, Mr. SuperGlue. So, I filled the relief where the crystal goes into on the case and stuck in the crystal. Within 10 minutes the whole inside of the crystal filled with SuperGlue "Fog" and that was the end of that watch....it was very CSIish by the way

I found 21.0 mm Stainless Ultra Thin 1.2 mm, Short Pivots Single Shoulder at ofrei, but not a 1.17, and not a 1mm...hmmmmm

I am getting ready to fit the gen tube and crown and have a glue question...I was going to use 5 minute two part clear epoxy...would that work or is it a bad idea? Just thought I'd run it past the experts.... DB2

You are everywhere lately , but I completely agree. Being the local tech nerd, I got sick of having the fix windows problems several times a day, so I've been talking everybody into getting macs, that may put my tech business out of business though

Very cool project and kind of leads into something I need some help with...I am getting ready to remove the AR from a crystal...if I read your post correctly, you can get it off with steel wool and over cleaner without scratching the crystal?
