  1. Looks like the engravings on the movement might be wrong: Rep: Gen (I think):
  2. Hi guys, Does anyone have an opinion on the Longines Master Collection Moonphase? I'm trying to compare photos on King's site, ie ... With photos of gens, ie ... And I cant see any obvious flaws. Can anyone point any out? I'm not planning on buying a rep, I'm looking at buying the real thing used and trying to make sure I end up with a gen ... Any help is appreciated!
  3. Oh and I saw Tarantino in London a couple of years back and he was wearing an IWC Big Pilot. So probably has some interest in swiss watches ...
  4. 'Ticking' is such an obvious give away thast in my expereince even non watch types are aware of it. So its not an 'in joke' (waaay too much credit) or a cheap props department, its that her character wears a fake Rolex ...
  5. Thanks for the comments, ABP Paris are indeed awesome. But really the most important thing here is that is GEN! Not looking for custom strap makers ...
  6. Hi folks, Doesnt anyone have an recommendations for where to get a new gen tag heuer strap? I'm looking for a replacement one for my Monaco, so its 22mm blue leather croc print for deployment. In EU is preffered but anywhere is fine. In the UK theres an ebay seller who lists 1 per week starting at 99p but they always go for a little more than I want to pay. Any advice is definately appreciated!
  7. I guess he takes pleasure in the very (VERY) small variations. And probably knowing the history of each one.
  8. Acutally Mike Wood owns 18. Thats 18 of the estimated 200 left in the world ...
  9. I love this photo. Full story: http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=133412

  11. Posting photos of cake and cats falling over is showing emotion and opinion?
  12. Thanks. Thats acutally the sad state of my bedroom foor at the moment. ;( The wife isnt a fan ...
  13. Sorry, just realised I didnt write anything about "vs RWG". Not really needed I guess, pretty obvious
  14. I know a lot of members here are regulars on TZ and TZ-UK, so many may already be aware of this and/or seen the thread below. A guy on TZ-UK tries to sell a new ceramic sub at a 14% profit. Many would say fair enough when there is a 12 month + waiting list. But not on TZ-UK! They go nuts and flame the guy. I
  15. Make sure you check it out while its still in cinemas, definately a big screen movie.
  16. A couple of lovely macro shots of a Carrera Calibre 5's second hand when time is slowing down, and it looked to me like Leo was wearing a Day Date in all the 1st unit stuff.
  17. Hmmm. Guess there are no rules ... Maybe I caught her on a good day
  18. King would have repaired this and apologised for it failing ... I know this because it happened to a Carrera Day/Date I had for over 12 months. Personally I think people put up with alot of crap and extra expense from non-china dealers for very little benifit. It would cost very, very little to send this back to the factory to have repaired. I guess it might depend on how much business youre giving the dealer though ...
  19. Why are you even entertaining this guy? Let him leave and the issue be done. Where the funds go and hosting costs have been covered many times over. Its not even worth talking about. Stick with RG red9k and everyone involved will be happy!
  20. Oh and re: gaming machines. Video cards dont matter a hoot. Unless you do video editing or motion graphics. Even then they dont matter much. If shes using illustrator, indesign and photoshop, then money is better spent on ram.
  21. Well just to confuse matters more, im a freelance graphic designer and video editor and i do 75% of my work on my laptop, I've just gone from an ASUS gaming machine to a Dell 16" XPS laptop and freaking love it. I will never by an ASUS again. Seemingly great value for money re: specs, but soo unreliable and fragile. hackR. I studied graphic design at university in the US and Australia. Go with the mac. Its the industry standard for graphic design (as it is for video production and photograph - though not web design) and if she gets a windows laptop her professors will tell her she has the wrong platform. This is because 5 years ago mac was a bucket load more stable than pc, these days though there is basically no difference (which is why i use the slightly more cost effective PC). That being said though design professors (i studied in NY) are generally stuck in their ways (i had to do typography classes by cutting and pasteing by hand individual letters to make up entire paragraphs!) and like to loudly tell students their opinions as if they are solid facts. So what you really dont want is to convice her to go with a PC, drop $4k inc software, and then have her professor tell her to buy a mac!
  22. Yeah, give us some linkage
