  1. The size of the A7750 movement means the rep is twice as thick as the gen. So its a very bad rep. Wont sit as well as the gen on your wrist as the size proportions are all wrong. Stick with the non-chrono versions if you want a feel thats gen-like.
  2. Yeah the first one says 2836-2 and the big question is if its eta or asian ...
  3. Oh hugely knowledgable and incredibly wise RWG members! Help a struggling watch geek ID a couple of movements! ... please. I can post really high res photos if needed. Thanks heaps for any help, I really appreciate it. -mj This one is gold in colour, its not just the photos. And this one:
  4. Can you? Who's selling? I cant see this watch with any of the trusted dealers ... Freaken nice watch.
  5. Untill this thread comes back to life with working links, heres what you're after: http://rolexblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/list-of-all-watches-worn-in-james-bond.html
  6. King has the full range of new vintage subs. Tons of variations on there inc the brown one ... http://www.kingshowbox.com/category.php?id=78
  7. Ari Gold in Entourge wears a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore. Entourage is a hell fun show for watch spotting. Extremely distracting
  8. The brown one I posted an image of has kind of cracked a peeled a little, it happened fairly fast over the first month and has since settled down. I quite like it because it makes the jacket look vintage. This happened because the leather had a very unsealed finish to it, whereas the black one I posted is more sealed/treated and hasnt changed at all, which is great because I bought it for more formal situations (going out to dinner and such).
  9. Ah that sucks. Mabye I've been lucky with my jackets. Couple of notes though: - The designers they copy make their jackets asymmetrical, its meant to be like that. In this photo the zip is clearly not symmetrical. - Again, with the designers they copy they make jackets that are to be worn very fitted. I think i wear mine as fitted as they are seen on the models in the photos. Thats the whole point of super soft leather, isnt it? I havnt tried either of the styles you got, but both mine sit right on my belt when im wearing jeans. If you pay an extra 50 quid they will make things to your measurements, so that could help. But then if you've already tried two you probably wouldnt want to risk another 200 pounds ...
  10. Scam site. Dont worry about brand names when buying a suit. In my work I meet so many people that like to causally mention their wearing armani or d&g and the thing doesnt fit them and is made from material that just isnt worth the price. Only about 2% of people can walk into a suit and have it fit perfect, almost everyone needs atlerations done and the suit has to be a great fit to begin with (you need to try atleast 5 and have a sales rep who knows what hes talking about). And people buy them online?! Those are the people you see in a horribly fitted suit (material bunched up at back of neck, sleves snagging, shoulder pads sticking way out and drooping off at the sides) and they think they got a bargin because they saved 30%! For the price of an armani you can get a made-to-measure suit in many stores. Or if you have lots of time but not much money, i recommend you try http://www.indochino.com. Dont beleive their silly video, but what they do do is make cheap made-to-measure suits in okay farbic (same as a middle range off the peg suit) in china and ship them fast. In my expereince it will take 3 remakes to get a suit that fits you properly, but they do infinate remakes for free untill you are happy and give you upto $75 refund for cost of alterations at a local tailor. If you've never had a properly fitted suit i recommend you go into a good store that ONLY sells suits and is in a high price range. Even if you would never buy from there, pretend youre considering it and a salesman who knows what hes talking about will talk you through the fit of the different jackets you try on. Ask lots of questions. Then you'll know what to look for when your made-to-measure china jacket turns up. For the record my expereince in this area started with off-the-peg, then went to cheap south east asian tailors, very expensive south east asian tailors, cheap local tailors (UK), expensive made to measure (UK), cheap online china made to measure (indochino), and now im into proper bespoke tailors (makes a gen tag heuer look cheap).
  11. I had a UPS to Royal Mail (in UK) shipment that required a signature delivered to someone else in my building, who then left it lying on my doorstep (in the hall), and then it got stolen. After several weeks managed to get the insurance paid out. I was lucky. Makes you wonder what is the freaken point of requiring a signature. To top if off now whenever i have an expensive shipment coming in I always put a note on the door saying "Please dont deliver packages to other apartments or leave them in the hall", these notes inevitably disapear within a day or 2. That is a tough call. You dont want all your local drivers to be piS$ed off at you. Might make future shipments hard. But then it would be nice to think him getting fired would be an good example to the rubbish drivers out there. Could could be frank with him "your laziness cost me €350, i can get €100 from the company, and Id really like there to be less bad drivers out there ...". It does suck that he'll lose his job, but it means someone else will get it and odds are they wont be as rubbish ...
  12. With the intro of the new fugly ceramic 116610, it seems to me to be a safe bet that the value of used 16610s will rise quite a bit in the next year or so. 1 - The new model retails at £4610 while the 16610 is £3840. So the price of the most similar 'new' model has just gone up (and quite a bit), the prices you'd expect people to pay who are looking to save money buying used vs new will be higher. 2 - The new model has a ridiculous chunky shape and maxi dial. Which is good for 16610 owners because their watch now looks even more classic and desirable. 3 - Now the 16610 is discontinued it'll have slightly more appeal to collectors for that reason. What are people's thoughts? I've only had an interest in watches for about 2 years now, so I'm no expert. I'm only really thinking about this is I recently picked up a used gen 16610, and although I didn’t get it as an investment piece its still nice to know I could sell it in 5 years for a nice profit.
  13. I acutally think my hood is a little too shallow ... but then im quite tall so i sort of stoop forward.
  14. I tried one on in an AD in Glasgow a couple of months ago. Freaken loved it. Im a BR fan and this is definately one of my favorites. Wish there was a rep. By the way thats a scam site you linked to.
  15. The watch or the baby? If youre talking about the baby you should probably cut this talk out:
  16. Yeah theres a whole bunch of BRs out there with lumed dials and not hands. Its baffling. Was someone sitting around in a factory thinking that was acutally a good idea? Lume on dial only is as useful as zero lume.
  17. None of the dealers service movements. Even if you buy it as an extra option (if your lucky theyll do a 'swish and dip'). There are zero problems buying from dealers who are not UK based, and you will get you watch much faster than the more expensive UK options. For the exact same product. The 'QC' by UK dealers is just a quick visual check, they wont regulate the movement or grease the seals or anything.
  18. The lapels kind of flow right round wide into the hood, they dont go into the collar, so it will be interesting to see how this works if they can do your request.
  19. Very cool. Arent polarised glasses more popular than red/greem these days? Check this out: http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/sModelDetail?displayTab=O&storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=399013&catGroupId=14616&surfModel=AJ-HDX900 There would be such a massive market for cheap 3d cameras that I'm sure in 5 years kids will be running around with them.
  20. Just after I received that one with the hood, I was getting dressed to go out and said to one of my housemates "hey, like my new jacket?" she paused for literally about 10 seconds while staring at me, then said "you look fcking awesome". I said "thanks, thats what i was going for". Only downside is that those cuffs make it hard to show off a watch.
