1. juz don't forget applicable service charge.. only smokes and drinks are accepted forms of payment
2. btw, i did see gun metal color paint in the shop i was at today.. but that's actually still not as close as i would've liked.. t he closest i found was this pewter color, but unfortunately it was out of stock.. so perhaps i'll wait a couple of weeks till new stocks are in and try out the pewter..
3. yes sir, those hobby shops will be my next stop.. i know what you mean about the copper redness, especially under direct sunlight.. i might try again later this afternoon, up the silver content with minimal copper just to achieve a slight tinge... wish me luck
4.

no problem.. i can bring the paint down to A's next time we meet up and do it on the spot.. so you can see and decide what paint mixture concentration you like most before applying the paint.. just throw in some free smokes and kopi
5. spurred on by my first attempt in repainting the Top Gun's side logo, i went on the hunt this morning for a closer match to the side logo's color on the gen which has somewhat of a slight gold-ish tinge instead of being pure metallic silver. still, i couldn't find any readily available color code that is a close enough match to the gen, so i ended buying a metallic copper paint to mix with the silver paint i used in my first attempt. after some trial&error experimenting with different concentrations of paint mixtures, this is what i came up with. fairly happy, think it's probably 85-90% there.. what do you guys reckon? gen pics for comparison: V1, Gen & V2 comparison pic (courtesy of ToroBravo and Takashi): my 1st attempt with just silver paint: my 2nd attempt with mixture of silver paint and copper paint:
6. really? i thought my FGD dials (especially my 002/009) had a shiny sheen to them, so i had to matte a couple of them..
7. the color is still a little off compared to the gen (see pic below), but it's supposed to have a glossy finish.. i just painted over the entire logo using a fine brush, then used a wet piece of cloth to wipe off the paint off the top surface while leaving the paint in the engraved ridges intact.. here's the gen for comparison, it has a somewhat gold tinge to it instead of being just pure metallic silver.. still not close enough yet, so maybe i still need to hunt for a closer colour to match it...
8. happened to drop by an art-n-crafts shop today, so decided to shop for some paint to mod the casing side logo of my Top Gun V1.. had looked at a few gen TGs recently, so i knew the side logo needed to be painted with a darker shade of silver, kinda like a gunmetal color.. took all of 5mins to repaint the logo and let it dry.. what do you guys think? before (standard rep factory color): after modding with new paint: in case anyone likes this paint job and wants to take a stab at it, i got plenty of spare paint left.. maybe i can squeeze out a few big blobs into an airtight ziploc and send it to anyone who's interested
9. believe i saw a franken BP 5002 done by sander a while back.. fitted with gen dial, but not the movement.. the gen movement definitely wouldn't come cheap..
10. i want those laureus dials mate.. reply to my PM!!
11. i believe it should be more of a satin finish for the 202A
12. it's a long shot, but PM sent on the Laureus dials!
13. yeah, for certain dates, the date sits probably just a wee-bit to the right, by about 0.5mm. but got richemont to fix it, as it's a known issue with some of the 51011 calibre batches. so it's good to go now
14. hey bro, am also looking to change the paint color of the top gun engraving on the side of the case. care to PM me some tips on how you manage to remove the existing paint and repaint?
15. bought it from a local store specialising in pre-owned watches.. this is a gen btw, in case you're wondering..

20. can't wait for DW to release it.. already have a donor prepared for this project
21. might have something to do with the climate you're in too. where i am, it's pretty tropical.. sunny and humid most of the year, so that probably helps the patina to develop faster
22. perhaps this might help
23. got the watchbox from donerix.. not sure if he still makes them for sale...
24. come on, u know u want one
