  1. thanks PreV! i didn't know about the lack of pinholes on the 380 ELs (learn something new everyday!). currently i have 358 ELs on mine and like u said, the fit is not too shabby and quite flush to the case. the DW 7032 dial actually has recessed subdials, and the recessed ring on the outer edge of the subdials are quite obvious under certain lighting angle. although i believe the gen 7032 dial has a sloping bevel on the 3 o'clock minute counter subdial, similar to my Heritage Chrono (see pic below). so unfortunately the DW dial still does not have this sloping bevel, although i must add that the DW dial is very well done as a whole and the texture of the dial surface is very gen-like. see sloping bevel in the 3'clock subdial on my heritage chrono:
  2. pictorial posted.. check my other thread
  3. after waiting several months for DW to refine and finalise his Tudor 7032, not to mention months sourcing for some rare gen parts, i finally got the 7032 build completed. big thanks to Spinmaster for his outstanding work, considering that a fair bit of modding work is required to fit some of the gen parts. anyway, here's the lowdown of what went in: - DW 7032 caseset, dial & hands - dial and hands lightly aged by Spin - Valjoux 7734 movement with correct 45-minute chrono counter and black datewheel color font for all dates - gen T128 cyclope tropic crystal - gen 24-703 crown and tube (somewhat correct as RSC typically replaces the original 24-700 crown with the 703 if servicing/repair is required; but i currently have a gen 24-700 crown and marsupilami tube en route) - gen 7836 folded link bracelet (still looking for 380 endlinks for it) so i think it's about 95% done. only left to fit in the original 24-700 twinlock crown, 380 endlinks and a set of gen springbars. then it'll be complete not to blatantly advertise Spin's services, but if you want to build this bad boy, Spin's your man! don't wanna steal the thunder from this beauty, so i'll leave my Tudor Heritage Chrono out of this pictorial till a later time. so enjoy!!
  4. Quick teaser. Complete build done by Spinmaster, with some gen parts fitted. More details and pics to follow soon
  5. pretty sure this is a gen.. movement, dial, CG, lugs, crown all look good to me..
  6. holy smokes.. i just sent a PM to marsupilami!
  7. give credit to the photographer where it's due mate... LOL, juz kidding!! glad you got the laureus, enjoy and wear it in good health!
  8. i'd like to see a great rep of this too, though i think it's going to be near impossible, given the display back and in-house movement. which is why i decided to just get the gen instead. see pics of mine below, and you'll prob agree that a good rep might take quite a while. besides, considering the new A7753 movement is out, i bet the factories are concentrating their production resources to churning out revised models of 7753-based watches that were previously sporting A7750 movts..
  9. there u go! here's a little encourage for you
  10. yeah, the orientation of the crystal cyclops is wrong.. the crystal on this watch looks like a normal T127-type crystal where the cyclops is meant to be at 3 o'clock. the correct crystal for the monte carlo should be a T128. E, if you wanna build a good 7032, start scouting around for a V7734 movement and a gen T128 plexi
  11. thanks! the watch comes with both a bracelet and a nylon nato strap. haven't had time to change out the bracelet and try on the strap. prob this weekend
  12. sorry for the teaser pics last night.. and now for the fully monty!
  13. byebye panda
  14. thanks guys.. can't wait to do a build of the original too
  15. i was in love with this tudor ever since i saw pics of it early this year. since then, i've been religiously pestering my AD for a firm release date and trying to bump my way up the waiting list. but up till now, the AD still hasn't come through. thankfully a good friend of mine has the right connections and hooked me up with one it's a bad time of the day to take some quality pics, so best i can do now is a short teaser shouldn't take a sec for the seasoned veterans to know what this bad boy is, but what the heck
  16. is that a simona bruno strap?? looks awesome
  17. yes i have indeed been on a spree.. i blame it on not having any new projects to distract me.. plus i have very bad friends who egg me on to do my part to boost consumer spending about to go pick up another toy in a bit, maybe i'll have some teaser pics up by the end of the night.. seriously, make time to join us in our GTG.. i live in the bkt timah area but still make that commute to sengkang religiously
  18. love the vintage build mate.. what engine do you have planned for this puppy? SF240??
  19. i guess you can say that U-Boat has entered the league of the big boys now. the brand even made it to the main hall at Baselworld 2010 watch fair, rubbing shoulders with patek, panerai etc high end brands.
  20. not sure how many are aware of this new U-Boat U-42 limited edition, but i sure as hell didn't know about it until a few of my forum buddies here were talking about it over our usual Sunday GTG.. 1 phone call and an unplanned trip down to the local U-Boat AD later, i flashed the plastic and now am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my pre-ordered U-42 dare i say, i think this U-Boat is nicer than the Egiziano, and sure as hell a lot more attainable too! did i mention this is 53mm?? check out the video at http://vimeo.com/10430498 some pics taken off other websites:
  21. thanks mate.. there's a tonne of 312s for sale in the local forums, so pretty easy to pick one up at a decent price if you're interested.. the 305 i got from a private seller.. there is a 305 going at a good price at watchlink/sam's in case you're keen, though i'm not sure if it's still there..
  22. what datewheel are you using? is this 27a from DSN? the date window itself seems to be misaligned with the cyclops position, plus the datewheel positioning itself is also a fair bit off (this could be due to the date change mechanism issue you mentioned). but i'd be more concerned with the position of the date window, which currently seems to be offcenter towards the left of the cyclops mag. here's how my DSN 27a looks, after installing a Leo datewheel:
  23. prob from a panerai boutique or AD
  24. thanks guys.. still can't decide on the right strap to go with the 305.. i know i want a nice calf hide, preferably not too distressed but still with some texture.. saw some on risti.com but still undecided as yet.. the other pam is a 312
  25. after considering the whole bunch of PAM subs from 24 -> 87 -> 243 -> 187, i finally made up my mind and pulled the trigger on the 305! it's got everything i'm looking for.. 47mm 1950 case in titanium, and a very clean dial that pays homage to the 2533.. and it wears very well and comfortable on the wrist despite its size still hunting for a nice strap to go with it though, maybe a gunny.. hmm... ok, no more talk... here we go!
