  7. Agree with Theo. The rose gold Marcus AP sounds like the perfect watch for your brother and his profession. I have the rose gold Rubberclad which I love and find it to be rather versatile, but I still the Marcus works better for your bro.. --- - Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Not tough to mod, just requires some patience and trial&error. All you need is some paint thinner/remover and bottle of acrylic paint of a matching color. I've done this numerous times for my TG before, plus for a few other mates' TGs as well. Documented in a post I made sometime back: Gun logo -- 3rd and final attempt! --- - Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  10. Looks like he shaved off a bit of the pearl around the border, thus making it look smaller and slightly sunken as per gen. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  12. Just got this in the mail Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. gen AR has a purplish tint.. i tried to capture it as best as i could here:
  14. A7753 hands will not fit ETA.. when i was doing an eta conversion for my A7753 daylight, i had to buy a separate set of ETA7753 hands because the rep A7753 hands would not fit the ETA movement..
  15. The concentric circles you guys are talking about is extremely faint on the gen. Not visible to the naked eye, and barely visible under a macro lens. Here's a macro I took of my 187 before.. You can barely make out the lines only when you zoom into the pic.. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. I don't think anyone is demanding for perfection here. But considering the prices that some of these reps are being touted for these days, it's only fair to explore the possibility of fixing the more obvious flaws especially when you know they are well capable of doing it. The bars will always keep getting raised over time, and people will come to expect more over time. It's human nature. No different from cellphone technology advances. 5 years ago, we all thought that color LCD screen on a phone was the bomb. Now, we [censored] about why a high resolution touchscreen can hardly be read under direct sunlight. It's never enough. If it were enough, we'd lose the notion of progress. Same goes for rep makers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Andrew, I must that this is a very solid effort and one heck of a rep. Even so, I do have a suggestion. The rep CG is still an instant tell. I'm sure the factory can do a better CG given the quality we have seen on the other recent PAM reps. The other flaws (bezel numerals, date window position, thick dial market outlines, short hands at 3 n 9 subdials) are minor in comparison, but consider fixing that CG if there is a chance of a v2. 18. I hope you already have a gen dial or an old school eta 7753 rep dial ready on the side, because the new A7753-based 187 dial and hands will not fit the eta 7753 movt. Just in case you weren't already aware of the above before you put money into an eta 7753 movt. Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk
  19. Very well done! Definitely keen on one. Do let us know the pricing details when ready Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Doesn't look any much different from V2 to be honest. Prob just a marketing gimmick calling it a V3 with some minor improvements. Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk
  21. I think it's going to be a great rep even at this price, especially when you think of $500+ AP reps that have a notoriously unreliable movement. It's no super rep, but definitely still the best out there if you always had the hots for a 187. I'm sure the factory will sell out the initial production batch, though I'm not sure if this is a model that they will see sustained demand as compared to the more popular PAM reps like 005, 111 etc. Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk
  22. perhaps I can help to put to rest any speculation about how bright the lume on the gen should be. in short, i'd say "what lume?" i do not discount the possibility that a gen 187 which is a safe queen and hasn't seen the light of day since 2004 might still have a strong tritium glow, akin to those torch-like superlume. the tritium deteriorates at a different rate depending on the climate; i happen to live in a tropical humid climate, which may perhaps have accelerated the patina on my watch. plus it's not a safe queen, so it's been around the block quite a lot, much more than most girls might have. so if you plan to achieve a nice patina look for your 187, then you might want to take a look at my pics below before you decide whether to relume the dial or "de-lume" Of course, it's a matter of personal preference at the end of the day, some prefer torch-like glow regardless, some prefer to focus on achieving accuracy. a patina i'm proud of for a watch that's 7 years old: lume shot taken almost immediately after a short tan in the sun: lume shot taken 1 min after first lume shot above: lume shot taken 2 mins after first lume shot: so i say again.. what lume??
  23. More AP love... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Great shots! Damn I should have worn the RG today instead of the CP! Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk
