1. you are absolutely spot on there mate.. Absolutely spot on.. @Sixx, as far as names go, I think it best to leave it to the victim i.e. Buyer 1 to decide if he wants to out the member in question. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
2. oh it's real alright.. except that neither siesta181 nor i are the protagonists of the story, but it hit pretty close to home for us to feel strongly enough about it..
3. i feel strongly enough about it to put it in my sig. enough said.
4. it's a beauty mate.. and i'm digging that strap!!
5.

U can order them from http://www.kainheritage.com Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
6. i think you're referring to the PAM183 radiomir black seal, not the 187?
7. dude, definitely looks polished to me
8. been telling myself that i shall limit my gen purchase in 2011 to the upcoming PAM 372, but i've been itching for a good rough-and-tumble watch for sometime now and ended up with 2 after a short afternoon trip to the mall! definitely not lacking any wrist presence compared to couple of other monster gens in my box:
9. strap is made by Orloff, check out his gallery here (http://s831.photobucket.com/albums/zz234/orloff1812/ORLOFF%20STRAPS/?start=all) best way to contact him is email (orloff.straps@gmail.com)
10. the new 005K has been thoroughly reviewed by various members already, so no need for me to go into the details. all i'll just say is at its price point, it's quite possibly one of the best reps out of the box and i'm pleasantly surprised how well the factory has repped the sausage dial. not perfect, but hey it's a rep, 98-99% is as close to perfection as one gets in the rep world. anyway, some pics i snapped of my 005, paired with an Orloff nubuck strap:
11. not a bad attempt, but too many flaws.. here's my gen (999pcs, without gold [censored] and seconds subdial):
12. damn it.. now i'm tempted again.. such a beautiful rep.. must resist... put funds aside for the new SIHH PAMs
13. in case any PAMheads are looking for a little company for their watch collection, here's a re-issue of the awesome Desktop Incursore figurine.. only $85 shipped worldwide and limited stock available.. got 2 for myself already http://www.thewatchboys.com/desktop-incursore-p-399.html ps: i'm in no way affiliated with TWB.. just thought i'd share a good find with you peeps..
14. Boy am I glad RWG is back in biz! Sportin 305 today..
15. sweet!! if it really is 45mm, i'm in!
16. i frankly don't understand why people are trying to beat down a $4k watch because of how cheap or unreliable the DD chrono module is rumoured to be. if that truly is the case, then isn't there more cause for concern for folks plonking down $20 grand for an AP ROO which also happens to use the same DD module in their non-inhouse caliber ROOs??
17. i made the remark about the font color from comparisons with gen pics i found online, which may not necessarily be the best way to do so. if you've compared with the gen in person and find it to be a close match, then i'll take your word for it and using a brushed buckle with Ti looks fine to me, which is what i'm currently using on the strap matched to my 177. if i were you, i wouldn't worry too much about trying to find a Ti buckle to perfectly match the watch. a brushed SS buckle works just as well. dial texture is spot on, and AR is pretty darn good.. only a very slight tint of purple under certain lighting angles, but i dare say it's near colorless.. trust me, you'll love it! the strap on my 177 is a Mario Paci XVI nubuck kodiak (in tan color).. it's a lovely strap, have had quite a few members ask me about it, pity MP says the strap is currently out of stock until next summer
18. the 177 wears very comfortably on the wrist due to its lighter weight.. substantial, yet not overly bulky.. almost as if you have no watch on.. lol, now i'm exaggerating..
19. feeling bored at home, so decided to take a few comparison photos of the 177L rep's Ti case finish vs gen PAM Ti. unfortunately i don't have a gen 177 to do a direct apple-to-apple comparison, so i could only use another gen Ti PAM in my stable i.e. 305 to do the comparison. i'll let the pics do the talking. but i should just add that the rep 177L's case finish truly is remarkable for a $200 rep
20. matter of personal preference. they each have their pros and cons. the main flaw of the 177L is in the movement, but in all seriousness, any of us who are experienced enough in this hobby will know that none of the rep movements will stand up to the test (in terms of accuracy to gen), with the exception of Little Hero movement. the 111J does have a better crown-case gap when CG lever is closed, although the 111J has a noticeably bigger gap between the end of the CG lever (where the CG pin is) and the CG. This is where the 177 is noticeably better. on the crystal, the 177L does have a better crystal (in terms of clarity and AR coating color), as compared to the 111J. the lume job is also better and more evenly done on the 177L, whereas on the 111J you will see that the lume on the hands is noticeably weaker than the indices. why I chose the 177 is mainly due to the superb finish and fitment quality of the Ti caseset. I don't think I've seen a rep Ti PAM caseset that is as well-finished, and comparable to my gen titanium 305. Even DSN's Ti case finish doesn't match the level of this 177, which has a Ti color shade that is extremely close to gen Ti PAM. so as you can see, both have their pros and cons. where 111J scores, the 177L makes up for it in other aspects.
21. thanks mate.. just did a check on mine
22. the 02c is definitely gen.. i'm a little on the fence about the 111e, but i'm gonna throw my lot in and say that's prob a gen too. the rest are reps, albeit some very impressive frankens in there, like the 176, 61c.. all in all, very nice collection and obviously a lot of sweat and tears (and $$$) have gone into building up the collection.. props to you mate!
