2 links and the half link for me. Oh and if you do it yourself, or even if the the mall guy does it. I've found the best method is to size them WITHOUT removing the bracelet from the lugs. Un-pin the clasp and remove links while still attached. On my PO chrono, the bracelet comes on and off nicely, once curved endlinks were fitted. On my UPO, the bracelet never went on again after coming off, and i've had two different watchsmiths try, and spent at least 6 hours myself trying hehe.

New pics and small review of my new Sub
mastrmindalliance replied to Prsist's topic in The Rolex Area
I know from experience with DSSDs that you can lower the insert very easily by just removing it. Then removing the thick glue or tape of whatever it is, then gluing it back in with something like Tarzan's grip. -
I'm never convinced it's cartel (in this case - deserving of the 'V6") until Josh has it.
-
Sounds like a reasonable deduction! Of course, my response up ^^there is a typo. Should have read "changed from stepped design". The only thing I really want for my ziggied Cartel Ult is the insert triangle from the V3 (while retaining the correct 10 of the current) oh, and a better thumb divet on the clasp

After learning the difference between street fakes and the quality of the ones our dealers have here... Everytime i travel i try to seek out the same quality from vendors. This usually isn't too much trouble at all. Just asking vendors for better quality than what's on display (asking for "swiss machine" works in Asia), will get you to the back rooms. The problem I've found is that, sure they always have the same quality as found here, sure they'll let you inspect it and even open the caseback and put it on a timing machine - but you'll only save a couple bucks and shipping. Saving a couple bucks and shipping is great of course, but there's no recourse like with our dealers. If it dies within moments it's your tough luck. My advice is always to have fun buying street quality junk for little money and use the great services of our dealers here for serious purchases. After much experience with this in the last couple years, for me, it's the only way to do it. Have fun though! It always is!

Lol, with the bracelet (glidelock/dive extension) and the case back (changed to stepped design titanium) and crystal (there's a post/thread here somewhere) from the v3. And add to your dial, bezel and caseset... I'd suggest it's an entirely different watch. The only thing left is the movement. 0_o Edit to clarify: I'm referring to v3 to cartel ult here (recently termed v5).

What do people think of Replica-watch.Info site?
mastrmindalliance replied to cougar1's topic in General Discussion
I'd love to to put my two cents in on this as recently I've been visiting RWI and WC while RWG remains my home forum. They do all have their strengths but I think listing my opinion here may be taken as criticism. I guess though, it's safe to say that RWG is number one for many reasons ... This is probably one for the platinum section. -
The only difference to the V5 i can see is that the crown guards look bad. The profile looks too low in these pics. I can't find any difference in the clasp. 0_o The cartel has had a titanium caseback back since the v3 as i understand it. It's the ETZ ones that lose their paint/scratch. That Josh didn't post it is probably telling.

The Future Tag Heuer Monaco, Which One Do You Like Best?
mastrmindalliance replied to Watcheden's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
I really like some elements of 1 and 2, 3 isn't really doing for me. Like the clasp on #2 and the dial (sans the silly lid) of #1. But in entirety... i don't like any of them. -
Hilarious! I'm still recommending the [censored] badass Seiko Monster for snorkelling/diving (but not for looking cool).
-
I'd say in the right skilled hands just about any rep (except for Hublots) would be doable. In less skilled, but still skilled, hands any non-chronos without a HEV and with a screw down crown would be the best candidate. My Ploprof is good for 12ATM's. However, I can't go past recommending a Seiko as well. An orange or black monster should be at lest half the price of any super rep + 12ATM (snorkelling quality) waterproofing service by a professional.

Looks great! Is the strap gen?
-
Cockrings - what a joke. Haven't they ever heard of Cricket (or baseball i suppose)?
-
The problem with the superparts one is that it's brushed and the mesh end instead of bar end (like the edn-link i suppose. It's more for a ploprof than a SOH. I'm actually using one that has a tang buckle, not perfect either, but it looks the part from top down and is very comfortable. I went through (and still have) about 8 different mesh straps from various sources trying to find a good one. Should have just bought the ridiculously overpriced gen, heh.

If yr wrist is 8" plus i have the rep one unused. Must have a big wrist for this one as it only has micro-adjustment.

How do you say Merry Christmas?

They're burning! They're burning... they're raw. -
Reps certainly do have a short life span...
mastrmindalliance replied to kramerica2's topic in General Discussion
This isn't my experience at all. Ok so we're talking only a little over a year. But in that time 40ish autos and handwounds of just about ll movements available to us are all still working fine. (BTW, all except the Noobmariner which had to be fixed on arrival - were sourced from Josh). The only problem I've had so far, touch wood, was the Polprof v1 xtal. -
Merry Christmas Everyone! I've sent out many Christmas greetings this year in a few languages: Maligayang Pasko (Tagalog), yē dàn jié (Mandarin), Selamat Hari Natal (Malay), Frohe Weihnachten (German) and Feliz Natal (Brazilian Portugese). This got me wondering how the seasonal greetings are uttered around the world. I figured there's no better place to ask than here... So, how do you say it? Also, feel free to correct any of mine above and if you celebrate it - Have a great day!
-
Actually, if they do used lead base paint on case backs there would be cause for concern. Anyone capable of testing a couple?

Nakor sporting a swiss 7753 Daylight on gen leather and me with the V2 Ploprof on gen mesh. Much less gayer than it looks

Also make sure to get him some knee high, thick white socks and short shorts to go with

Pam 177L Side by Side ...Rep vs Gen
mastrmindalliance replied to Jos Nana's topic in The Panerai Area
This rep is making me question... why all the nitpicking? Looks pretty good to me. Did people forget these are reps? It seems we live in a golden age with the quality lately. Well done Jos and others involved. -
I am too! I mean I loved this as a kid! Watched the orig recently and it was really crappy hehe, as you'd expect. Only Kraftwerk in their prime could make a more befitting soundtrack. A perfect marriage IMO.

This looks great! As maxman mentioned its just the subdial at 6 hand that needs resetting to 12. If i was you i wouldn't send it back for that. The "mall guy" can fix this for like a tenner. Congrats! i want one of these... Is this the latest one than comes on steel from Josh?
