  1. my mate has a gen no date sub I think they are not as nice as the dated versions he bought it because he didnt like the cyclops - if that was my concern, I would personally choose a seadweller with date, no cyclops...
  2. I have resisted replying... The one I want is fantasy. I think the version with day date (instead of month date) looks great and is the one I'm going for!
  3. can you post a pic of the watch on the website of the dealer and the corresponding QC pic if they are the same dealer is right if they are different, you are right
  4. THIS is why I need a modder!
  5. thanks OS the answer is "dunno" I asked the helen rou site people and their GMT hand is green also I guess the best thing is just to bore out the existing GMT hand to a bigger diameter - I need to speak to some modders after I collect the bits I need
  6. Offshore has the watch (I think) - Ill point him to this thread thanks!
  7. i had a look - but i think these hands are not for the pepsi? ie yours is green and mine is red
  8. "Hand sizes are 90/150/25/216" - from that site - does this mean the GMT hand needs to go from 20 to 216?
  9. ok - thank you!!! I should buy the swiss modified one http://www.helenarou.com/swiss-eta-28362-movement-with-gmt-function-da28362300.html the only hand that wont work is the GMT which is currently asian 20 but needs to be 25 - is this correct? - pack the watch, and new mvt and send to a modder to mod the GMT hand and put it all back together did I miss anything? cheers!
  10. I settled on a quartz AP secs@12 no movement worries, and seriously, no one even knows AP in the wild and wont notice the small tick on a subdial
  11. WTF
  12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-Swiss-ETA-2836-2-Movement-DAY-GMT-function-/220867904343 will this work? this is the watch: http://www.1-pc8838.com/rlgs01031-anni-ssb...and-p-9570.html I assume the hands on the watch wont fit the ETA movement - am I right? and where could I buy new hand set please? thanks!
  13. its is obvious that they deliberately put a few tells in models there are exceptions, though. the market for super duper uber reps made for the purpose of selling as gens (bad, mmm'kay) for a closed back model, I cant see the point in cloning mvts - I just want the damned things to work reliably for open backs. well - much discussion, this could have :yoda:
  14. I think Im left with the watch - Im after the best way for me to get this watch fixed. the hand stack being correct does not worry me. any ideas? Id be happy to send this to a modder if this helps
  15. Should I buy ETA?
  16. For a long time, I had wanted a fantasy GMT II in pepsi ceramic everyone told me I would be waiting for a long time... so I was quite surprised and happy when they came out. I bought one from Replicamake. There is a bit of a story to this, which I wont bore you all with right now... Anyway, the movement it came supplied with (Offshore might be able to chime in here and tell you what it might be) was broken on arrival. Lay sent out a replacement mvt, but alas it was not a straight swap over - ie the wrong movement. I have a very hard working man on the job trying to get this movement, but for many months now and no success The advice I am after is this: should I buy a new mvt with new hands to fit? if so, what should I buy? from where? and how much (just ballpark) would I be up for? any help appreciated!!! thank you
  17. from all reports, he is a PITA
