  1. Probably depends largely on the media you use.
  2. Hai guise! Check out this new watch I just won on eBay! Sylvester Stallone used to own this watch and he even wore it in his movies!!
  3. Unfortunately, Yuki doesn't list prices on their site. However, if you send an email inquiry, they're always quick to respond. Yuki's prices are pretty good, in my opinion. The only issue with these aftermarket 7031/2 cases is the pusher spacing...
  4. I just had a look on VRF- Do a search for 'Cyclope 127 GTG'... Seems others are of the same mindset that the bevel/angle came first.
  5. Agree; Zig is one of the few that I would trust this to...
  6. Next up for auction: Pre-V jockstrap worn by SylvesterStallone.
  7. Bamp (C'mon folks... I know we gotta have more 3714's on the forum than this?!)
  8. Luminova/SuperLuminova doesn't change color or age like tritium, nor does it degrade over time. So if you're looking for something that will maintain the same color/tone over it's lifetime, that would be the way to go. Zig does a fantastic vintage tone that he mixes with SL to achieve a vintage look, but one that never ages and glows like a torch...
  9. Personally, I do like the flat top better for aesthetic reasons...
  10. Most collectors would prefer original/untampered. Plus, tritium will tend to develop a nice patina with age and condition; this is preferred as well as it's viewed as character and vintage charm. My vote goes to keeping the watch as-is.
  11. A gen Lumi dial shouldn't be too much- Couple hundred depending. Or, just keep the watch as-is and enjoy it in it's all original state...
  12. L serial places this watch between 1988 and 1990; that would most certainly be a tritium dial (you should see SWISS - T < 25 at 6:00).
  13. Do you have a set of digital calipers? Can you mic the I.D. and O.D.? Would be interesting to see the measurements...
  14. For a tritium dial, I'd keep it original (i.e. no relume); that is, if you want the watch to retain it's actual value. If you want lume on your dial, I'd suggest that you purchase a genuine current model/service replacement lumi dial off of eBay; swap it out and save the original dial in a safe place. That way, if you ever sold the watch, you have the original parts to go with it (thus holding it's resale value). An RSC would likely also swap out the dial for a service replacement anyways, but you would not receive your original dial in return from Rolex Service...
  15. Thanks, buddy Still learning as I go; the biggest thing I'm fighting with is glare and proper diffusion while still getting enough light...
  16. I was also of that understanding for a long time, M. Then I got to talking with a couple of vintage guys and learned that the angled tops were first and original on a lot of the old Reds. That explains why a number of those 1680s still fitted with their original 127s had come to look almost like domed crystals with a cyclops; 3 - 4 decades worth of polishing and general wear and tear had worn them down to be domed in shape. That kind of profile would be easier achieved with the angled top. Plus, I had seen some 1680s in near-never polished, near mint all original state with the same 127 fitted which further supported this line of thought for me.
  17. The crystal that you received is actually better if you're going for period correct accuracy (e.g. a Red 1680); the slightly angled top is true old stock as it was used in earlier production; the straight, top hat style is the version that was used in later production, and as service replacements.
  18. Well, I think I paid $3200 for a pre-owned 16610 at that age. It was either the watch, or a set of HRE wheels for the car. I felt that the watch would hold it's value better, so I went that route instead
  19. Min hand should be a direct fit, I think; hour hand might need a slight bit of modification...
  20. I had one at 26 Prior to getting into reps...
  21. You need the Flightmaster hands for caliber 911... http://www.ofrei.com/page944.html Genuine Omega Caliber 910 & 911 Flightmaster Hr/Mn Hands Black Duco Edge W/White Luminuous, miunte hand 12.0 mm HAN-2418 $29.00
  22. AR, Lello wheel and serviced ETA 2824; you're definitely off to a great start! Looking forward to hearing your impressions when you receive it!
  23. No doubt, the 7924 is a beauty Yuki has an 8mm crown for $286.00; not much less...
