  1. Definitely needs a shorter profile crown. That looks to be the same crown as the noob; too tall. Genuine crown is shorter in height, like this:
  2. The 7750 (Asian or Swiss) likely wouldn't be a direct swap to the 21j case anyways. I don't believe they have the same back/forward spacing with the stem, so it's likely that the stem wouldn't align center in the tube. My advice is to go with the standard A7750 3717 and mod accordingly...
  3. Mic the case thread diameter of your gen tube and compare against one of your aftermarket tubes. To my knowledge, there are no aftermarket tubes in the larger size, so this should be a quick indication as to what you have.
  4. The crystal/dial/bezel diameters are all too large. That's the first thing that stands out to me. Subdial positions 2nd, considering the silver subdial rings, pushers following next.
  5. The El Primero 3019PHC is the same as the El Primero 400. Though there are some 17j versions of the 3019...
  6. Genuine Omega hands for the PO will fit; the Omega 2500 (and Omega 1120) are based on the ETA 2892, which shares the same size hour/minute/seconds pinions with the 2824 and 2836 movements (90/150/25). Speaking on first hand (ahem) experience
  7. Most pre-owned 3714's I've seen offered are around the $5k USD range for SS that I've seen.
  8. Lumi hands... Usually gen service replacements are a bit less than their BIN, but not bad. Not great pics but the second pic tells me more than the first (too much glare).
  9. In general, I would pass. There are just a few too many 'flaws' with that dial all around. It doesn't even really correlate with any of the gen DRSD dials (so called MKI - MKVII) in terms of details (i.e. font, coronet, markers and so on).
  10. Okay, in looking at this pic: Hour hand: A gen minute hand is going to have a longer 'neck' (portion between the center and the 'mercedes' tip). The portion of lume in this 'neck' will be longer, and the edges of that frame will also be crisper/sharper at the corners. The 'mercedes' tip is also a bit different in terms of the shape of the frame, and the actual triangle tip is usually a little more open with more lume. Some hands are curved and some are flat, BTW. Minute hand: Again, the frame is a bit off; the lume strip should extend closer to the center towards the pinions (hopefully this makes sense). The hand is also a slight bit short, as it should overlap the minute chapter slightly. Seconds hand: The biggest issues I see here are the tail of the seconds hand (portion that extends opposite of the pointer tip) as it's a bit short. The shape of the hand is a bit off as well, as the pointer tip should be slightly tapered towards the point after the lume dot. Gen pics to illustrate the above: Outlined: In my honest opinion, a gen set of hands would be a nice upgrade over your current hands.
  11. What timing, modelizer! Have fun!!
  12. Hmmmm... 3.0mm x .35 should be the correct size for the 6mm and 7mm tubes. Just to clarify, are you using the wrench to install the tube? Or are you turning by fingertips?
  13. If you've got a gen 1570 powering the watch already, then the above becomes a non-issue (that's what I get for making assumptions) Got a pic of the watch? Specifically the hands?
  14. For some people, it's more about the fun in building a project than the money...
  15. WM9 SELs (as well as genuine) are three piece construction as well, but held together with tension pins (not solder).
  16. I'm not sure if you have one or not, but you need the tube wrench to do this properly.
  17. The diffeence is going to be largely with the shape of the hand frames (i.e. the size and shape of the openings for the lume, etc). To retrofit gen hands to ETA size pinions (90/150/25) requires a significant amount of work, as the gen 1570 hands are quite different in size (I forget what their actual measurements are). Not to mention, genuine hands are not exactly cheap; at least when considering that you'd be modifying them to make them unusable for gen specs thereafter (though you can probably modify the ETA pinions to fit one or more of those hands). In my opinion, you'd be better off getting a gen 1570 to replace the ETA in your case; this will allow the hands to at least remain in unmodified condition (hence retaining their intrinsic value). Just my thoughts...
  18. Not a biggie; I was hoping U.S. as I could just drop them in the mail, but UK is no prob either. Send me your shipping details.
  19. If it's just the movement clamps/tabs and screws, I have some you can have (hopefully you're in the U.S.). Hit me up with your shipping info...
  20. SWISS - T<25 = trit less than 25 millicuries...
  21. Looks fine to me. Same sub dial spacing- Gen dial and El Primero in mine: Compare to:
  22. No... I understand that one, Nanuq. I wouldn't take that one into the water either. Actually, if that one were mine, I'd probably have it stashed in a safe... BTW, glad to see the old avatar back! With the changes to the avatars, I'd always have to doubletake the user name, cause I usually associate people to their avatar pics
