  1. Widely spaced subdials... Sounds like a Speedy Reduced...
  2. Not the same seller/dealer as the other 'Ideal Watches' selling the 75 jewel Swiss Made solid gold cased reps for $950.
  3. Which Moonwatch? The Speedy reduced? Or the new one with the 3313 co-axial? Do you have a ref number?
  4. Indeed! Very versatile! Looking good, Heywood!
  5. My vote is a 202/A with an FGD dial on it (if you can find one)! Go with FGD's recipe list, and the final product will be KILLER!
  6. Interesting... And, I agree with DemonSlayer 100%. The cost to take a dip in the pool with a rep is a lot less expensive than to do the same with a gen to see if the honeymoon lasts. So, in that aspect, reps are smart money for testing the waters, so to speak. I imagine many an individual has likely purchased a gen (or decided against) based on their experience with a specific rep. That said (and to comment on the topic of Skylands) I have to say that I'm actually quite interested in the V2 Blacksteel. I've not been very enthusiastic about Breitling in general, but this one, for whatever reason, has my interest piqued.
  7. Exactly While some people might raise an eyebrow as to me giving these to my kids, I view this as an entirely personal objective; I wanted my son and baby girl (if she so chooses to want it) to have something that their dear old Dad made specifically for them. That was my intent and goal from the very begining of these projects (old timers will likely remember when I first posted about the first one). I wanted to give them something that had more sentimental value and meaning than dollar value. I have some gens for them as well, but I am hopeful that these Daytonas will mean a little more to them when the time comes.
  8. Actually, I can always part these back out if I wanted to, and get current market value for parts, which would recover cost at current prices out there. No interest in that for me, however. I do have to disagree, however- These watches are real; I can hold them, feel them, wear them. So, yes, I have two. Two that I enjoy wearing and two that I have had the immense pleasure and satisfatcion in building. If I were insterested in the value of these watches, I'd have bought one gen (and quite honestly boring) 116520. But, I'd rather have variety, as well as something I put my time and effort into. I'd rather have that over something that just anyone can walk into a store to buy. I could care less about the fact that these weren't put together in a factory in Switzerland, or that they weren't sold through an AD when new. The value of these two pieces (to me) is something that I can't place a dollar value on. Much is the same story for all of my watches; it's the aspect of the hobby that makes it fun for me. I used to buy gens, but now I'd rather build. Some people build ships in a bottle... Some build model railways or build and modify cars (which I used to do). Me... I build watches. Not for everyone, I understand but we're all in this hobby for different reasons.
  9. Don't believe the AD will sell you (or any other walk in customer) those parts... Straps, maybe. But dial, hands and bezel? Don't think that is going to be possible...
  10. D- As much as I like the Big Pilot, I like the little pilot more, I think Great pair, BTW!
  11. For a gen 16520, you're looking at a minimum of $11 - $12k. For less than the price of one, I have TWO.
  12. There is also the EE 6263/5 variant as well... 7750 based, so the caseback is thicker, but all the correct dimensions; 37mm case, 19mm lugs, asymmetric pushers, etc.
  13. If you want to retrofit a gen 295C to a rep 16610, you have to go with one of the newer style cases that supports gen parts (i.e. the Euromariner, WM9, PT, etc). All the best... R
  14. Actually it's a Venus, but the common misconeption is 'Lemania'. I use the term so as not to confuse the situation, but Lemania is incorrect nomenclature for this movement.
  15. For a better 6263/6265, go for a DW. Correct dimensions, and compatible with gen parts. Or, depending on how much of a budget you have for a watch project, you can build a V72 6263 as well. Bit more expensive, but the results are quite nice.
  16. All said and done, I have +/- $4500 spent PER WATCH on mine... Gen parts do not come cheap, unfortunately.
  17. Just as piratedzeus has said- That 6:00 subdial counts running hours and it runs continuously on this model, regardless if the stopwatch is running or not (the genuine 6263 with V72 does not run unless the stopwatch function is engaged). As for other flaws; a few that I can see from a quick look- -Dial isn't great on this one. Poor print quality and font; coronet is positioned well, but is aesthetically incorrect. -Hands are far too short. -Case- Pushers are not asymmetrical, lugs look to be 20mm and based on the distance of the subdials to rehaut and considering this is a Lemania movement, it would appear that the case is 40mm as well, instead of the correct 37mm. -Pushers incorrect. -Crown incorrect. -Bezel is not the correct acrylic insert (but rather looks to be applied printing). Hope this helps.
  18. Heh... These days, I'm a little less prone to listen to the likes of Megadeth and Skinny Puppy on a regular basis... But I still try to keep an open mind about things in general.
  19. Back in my highschool days, we listened to everything... Rap, metal, techno, alternative... Even some country
  20. The closest may be an Air King with white dial... But it's smaller than the 14270/114270...
  21. Master of Puppets I'm pulling your strings...
