To explain it as simply as I can (and because my brain isn't really working at the moment)- Gen pearl is essentially a small, thin WG ring (it's actually a small cup that sits in the insert, for lack of better term) that is filled with lume and has a glass dome over it. A pic would explain this better than I can (I need some coffee, methinks):
I typically go through one of 3 people here in the U.S. for parts; however, I managed to source a good majority of this stuff from the usual famous auction site for less than what my usual guys wanted. That's the great thing about the Bay; great deals can be had as sometimes these auctions fly under the radar. However, you have to know what you're looking for with regards to validating genuine parts.
I no longer have my DW 6265 to contribute... However, I think Mr. Newman won one of these in his 2005 win at the 24 Hours of Daytona race (and then donated it to charity, I believe)...
Sure. Here's my recipe list of parts that I've fitted...
-Genuine crystal ring
-Genuine bezel washer
-Genuine bezel click
-Genuine bezel ring
-Genuine insert
-Genuine Cyclope 295C
-Genuine crown
-Old TW Best end links
-WM9 outer first link (without the ref no. stamped)
-Hollow midlink bracelet links from a noobmariner
-WM9 clasp
Easy to mod; one of the easiest watches I've ever worked, actually.

EL... A legend in his own time. He used to be my sole dealer that I'd go through... He had some of the best stuff back in the day.
BTW, I hear most rep watches are water resistant to 50m... 50m dash in the rain that is.
trios,
The EE that I posted prior (post #9 in this thread) is 7750 based, accepts a gen crystal (a gen T-21 is installed on this very watch) and has the correct 37mm case diameter, asymmetrical pushers, 19mm lugs etc.
So, they do exist...
As for DW- DW sells both completed watches and case kits, dials hands, etc.
Hope this helps clarify...
Cheers,
Randy
Just as Logan mentioned- These are to service older vintage models that have seen some tube replacements in their lifetime and/or stripped, damaged threads without having to replace the case.
I always have my watches tested by a local guy who does pressure testing for me. Typically, since I mod my pieces, I've never tested out of the box; since I usually crack the cases open and replace crystals, crowns and tubes and the sort, I always wait until after I've completed my work to pressure test. So far, so good.
For the long term keepers, I usually get those tested once a year. It's cheap to do, and is good peace of mind since I tend to do everything with a watch on these days.
Pre-A T-SWISS-T with A prefix; 6502 case and 1400 difference between BB serial and milesimation:
Linky
According to Dirk Grandry, this would technically be a Pre-A...
I'm looking at my Sub and comparing to my wedding band and my wife's wedding ring (which are both platinum); platinum looks a tad bit whiter in color compared to SS, but the real difference of course is with the weight and density of the metal
That said, your DD does look quite nice! Looks like a solid chunk of metal, that's for certain...
Good start.
Depending on how deep one's wallet is, you can take it a few steps further with gen crown and as an added option the tube (not necessary to work with the gen crown), gen bezel assembly, gen dial, etc. etc. However, with the point of diminshing return, one would be encroaching on the price point of simply buying a gen
...However, it's much more fun to build (in my opinion).
