  1. Vly- I recently experienced something similar; I cased up my 6497 and noticed it was losing a few minutes for every 6 hours. I uncased the movement to give everything a visual once over, recased again and everything is now running fine. I have a feeling that one of the plates or bridges may have had some pressure applied to the gear train or was somehow pinched, hence causing inaccurate time keeping. Not sure if this would apply to yours, but figured it would be worth at least a mention...
  2. DL- Will do, buddy TMG- Thank you, sir! TJ- Glad to hear your 004 will be on the mend! And with a project Radiomir to go as a result. Very nice!
  3. I agree; the snowflake appeals to me a little more as it's so completely different than the typical Rolex Sub. The hands and markers are quite unique! Unfortunately, gen parts don't come cheap From time to time these things do surface on the Bay. There's a dial and hands set on now (380070501264); the combo has seen some better days however. As for fitting these parts into a 1665- The dial diameter is a bit too small, unfortunately. The rehaut opening on the case is too large, and hence the dial simply falls through to the crystal. However... You can use an MBW 1680 case. That's what I used for mine...
  4. ROFL No mention of Triple AAA grade or 31j movement though? I'm slightly disappointed...
  5. Heh heh... Thanks, TJ! Omega Fan- Dial, yes; hands... Nothing in inventory at the moment, but I do see them come up from time to time. Here is a near mint 9411 dial that I picked up earlier this year along with the dial that currently resides in my completed snowflake It's an all original LePrelet in time capsule like condition.
  6. Tues- A temporary transition for the dial and movement...
  7. I had the blue dialed one (kruz is the proud owner of that one now) and I now have the black dial with dotted chapter... Blue/burnt: Black/dotted: When inquiring with Eurotimez, you might want to specify which Nautilus you are interested in. He has many variations; the best way to ensure that you get the one you want is to be specific and reference the exact piece you are after. Good luck, R
  8. Thanks, bwhitesox! I'm just glad that I'm able to wear it!
  9. I've temporarily fitted my FGD dial and 6497 into an old PVD case as well, to create a makeshift 009 for the time being However! Once the Jimmy case is sorted, I'll be converting back to 002A status...
  10. My bezel assembly fit without any problems... I think it may vary from piece to piece however...
  11. Yeah, very much so like Rain Man. Except, instead of counting toothpicks, it's counting the number of teeth on a crown, or determining the depth of a rehaut from across a room
  12. It's like we're living some sort of strange parallel life! Or maybe we just have excellent taste!
  13. Are gens worth it? Purely subjective, and depends on the person asking/answering the question Based on the sales of Rolex watches though authorized channels (new) and secondary vintage and preowned, there are many people out there who believe they are. And, they'd be right. However, there is something to be said about reps. While they may not carry the monetary value intrinsically, they are still loads of fun. I have more fun building my own watches than simply buying...
  14. K- As one of the foremost Panerai subject matter experts, your input and expertise not only belongs here, but it is welcomed and appreciated!
  15. Logo was a Rose on the oldies... And changed to a shield on the later models...
  16. No doubt; for a la carte parts, DSN is a good resource...
  17. Lookin' good as always, D!!
  18. Congrats to Diz and TT! Keep them good posts a comin'!
  19. Indeed. She's the brains of the family She knows me well, and knows how I work. She's also endured many hours of me driving her crazy with my obsession in this hobby and knows how much time I spent hunting these parts down. So, I think her actions were partly for her own sanity as well
