  1. Maybe I should send you this one I have here? For some reason the date changes at 11:59 in the morning and not at 11:59 at night?
  2. Looking good! This is a great classic... Hmmmm... I sometimes like it when the bars are poking through the lugs a bit. Think it gives the watch a nice tool look to it... Like it's lived a life with purpose...
  3. Exactly! Which is why I come to you guys with these difficult questions Seriously... Being an Oyster bracelet kind of guy, this strap stuff is quite a lot to take in. The last time I dealt with choosing a strap, there were just a few that I really recall- OEM Dirk DON Banda APB Sirtoli Enzowatches Woj MF Jonathan Ku (strapworks, I think?) Gabo The selection available these days just has my head spinning.
  4. Lug holes... So nummy. Loose end links. Mmmmmm... Well done, Chris!
  5. With regard to the model number issue- 11610 vs. 16610- I'm assuming you are seeing this on the sticker? If so... It's a non-issue in my opinion. Since the sticker is likely to deteriorate over time anyways, just peel it off. It serves no purpose and isn't anything close to how a gen hologram looks anyways. The engraving between the lugs should reflect the correct 16610 ref.
  6. I can't speak to PT's Sub, or ET's Sub, or whatever as I don't own them. Nor would I speak to the characteristics or quality of those watches (even if purported to be the same) unless I had personal experience with each. I have owned my fair share of 16610 reps however, and have personally hand modified the good majority that have come and gone in my collection. I can honestly say that while there are similarities, this is certainly NOT the same old Sub that we've had for years. As for WM9's marketing- I never said that what they're claiming on their website is correct or right for that matter (nor would I defend that aspect of their website). What I can attest to is the quality of service I have received, the value of product that was delivered along with my collective experience as a whole. Am I endorsing them? I'm not telling anyone that they have to rush out to buy one. I am however stating that my purchases with them have been good, some with fault but quickly rectified and that for my money I am pleased.
  7. F333, The goal (at least for me) was to reproduce the sharp endged center link of the SEL- Most reps come with the center raised too high (the hump that you mentioned) and the outside edges are a bit too rounded. I basically took a flat file to mine, once disassembled and went across the surface horizontally, up and down the length of the link and then sanded using gradually finer sandpaper, wet sanded, polished and satined the midlink to finish. Reassembled with a mix/match of parts to build a franken bracelet and the result... Nice, crisp edges, reshaped profile, etc. etc.
  8. I've got a friend with a fully built up Z32 300ZXTT; the thing is a monster. Last dyno'd at 580 rear wheel HP; nicely done with very tasteful body and interior modifications. A car that was very much ahead of it's time I'll see if I can dig up a pic.
  9. Ahhhh... The Ted Su's are nice, but I can't say that I'm a big fan of having that stamping on the middle of the strap I'm assuming you can request one without that stamping? The GSD... Wow. Now that's a nice strap~!
  10. Frank- I'm only stating my own personal experiences that I've had with George. Have you bought anything direct from WM9? Have you owned their actual watch in hand? Not the PT or the Euro, but received something that WM9 has delivered directly to you?
  11. You can adjust the clasp tension easily- Simply add a bit more of a curved bend to the clasp blade that connects to the clasp hull for a tighter fit; flatten the blade out for a looser fit. No need for WD40 and takes just a few seconds...
  12. You have to gently lift the release lever from under the dial, as there's no good way to access the release button from the movement side... I've done it a few times with mine. Not difficult, but you need to be familiar with some of the keyless works...
  13. It's been a long time since I've seen it (I viewed this film once, when I was 15 at 12:00am on PBS) but if I do recall correct, 'A Thousand Pieces of Gold' is a good film. I'd love to see it again... Link to imdb listing...
  14. TT is always a pleasure to have a visit with Hopefully he makes his way towards the Rocky Mountains at some point soon... I think a Denver GTG is overdue...
  15. DL- For case types, think 44mm Historics... The goal is 1x PVD and 2x SS of a neo-vintage 'theme' if you will Hence, my desire to go with as many Pre-V Logo'd SIBs as possible...
  16. >ahem< I was hoping to make this a posting opportunity for you guys to show off your wares I'm a visual kind of guy, you know...
  17. Ahhhh... The MF.... I had forgotten about those! Had one on my old Radiomir hommage. Great strap
  18. Well... Maybe a little. Need to break up the routine a bit. Maybe I'll go with a black kodiak Dirk Logo or something next Seriously... I'm not much of a strap guy... I don't foresee having a huge strap collection... But I do need to add some diversity. So, throw a Rolex-to-PAM convert a bone here, folks What do most of the RWG PAM Alumni consider to be 'quintessential must haves' for these things? If possible, staying in the 24/24, sewn in Logo buckle realm? Or is that too monotonous?
  19. But who knows for how long?
  20. For the bracelet, you're already 90% of the way there. Just use the WM9 SELs in place of the TW Best that I used, and you should have all the parts between the stock bracelet and your noob. Nothing wrong with the WM9 SELs at all... They look and fit great. I used the TW Best as I had already modified them and they fit just a tiny bit more snug...
  21. As an RWGI and II oldtimer, and with personal experience purchasing from WM9 direct, I have had zero problems or issues dealing with them. They've always delivered promptly, with excellent communication and after sales support and they've done a great job in their most recent offerings as far as quality is concerned. Price... Yes, they're a little pricey. I'm not here to tell you how to spend your money. For my money, however, I'm satisified with what they provide.
  22. I've performed the crown swap and it's a straight forward change out. I'm still using the tube that originally came fitted to my case from WM9. Bracelet... I built my own, mixing and matching parts. See the below post for details... WM9 project
  23. Great looking straps! I especially like that distressed gator.
