Funny you should say that... I built one of these El Primero Daytonas for my son. Someday, when he's old enough, he'll take over
...Until then, I get to wear it (mwahahahahaha)!
V- I love your franken PAMs! The white tritium dial... That Lefty... The genuine parts in both of those is enough to make any PAM fan drool!
Pugs- Of course that GST qualifies! Gen dial... Quite possibly the most exact GST rep I've ever seen! And I always love looking at that one.... Gen dial and Ziggy'd- Can't beat that!
Robi- Glad to hear that old 7928 is loved I always like to make sure that my departed works land in good homes; this one is in great hands!
(p.s. Unfortunately, the white dial Daytona is not for sale... But thanks for the interest )
Ruo- I LOVE those Omegas! Those may as well be gens for the parts content!
Timm- That looks like an old TW Best! Hang onto that one... A legend in it's own time and already a collector's piece!
Manuel- You KNOW how I feel about the franken-DJ's!
BT- How on EARTH could you part with those beauties??
az- What can I say... That is an unreal collection of modified goodies! A nice, diverse mix! I especially love the patina'd T-dial PAMs that you did!
BTW- Looking forward to seeing those MBW's reworked!
Great stuff guys... Every single piece is fantastic!
Keep 'em coming!
PVD is not a difficult job to do... Most gun and firearms specialists can probably do the job.
IWW used to provide this work, outsourced to a third party, but they have sworn off doing reps. Now, that might only apply towards the PAM reps, but I'd have to imagine that their stance would be across the board with regards to this policy...
I bought one of these for my brother-in-law a few years back. For the money, you get a LOT of watch! One of the best values for the price, no doubt.
Great watch, Pugs!
I believe MBW has a 5513 that one could start with as a basis...

EDIT: Oops... I see you're already aware of this one as I see you have posted in that thread
Alright, gang... I know many of you have them, so let's see those franken/modded watches!
I know you've all seen mine ad nausea, but to kick things off, here are a few from my watch box... Most of them are personal works, but a few are collected arts from other skilled hands
The ones that have come and gone...
Building a good 5513 is easy. start with an MBW 1680 case, procure a nice 5513 matte dial, remove the datewheel, swap the crystal with a T-19, add a gen insert, crown, tube and bracelet, drill the lugs and you're set.
See? Easy
Ahhhh Dowling's Destro... I remember reading about the time he wore it to Basel, and was hoping to get some sort of reaction from the Rolex execs at the show...
Speaking of value... It's interesting. I would never recommend a watch as an investment. However, these days, my exception would be vintage Rolex sports for mid-term gain. Better return on your money than stocks, IF you have the right pieces, in the right condition with the right accessories.
In my opinion, the PVD'd pieces by B&S/TB are interesting, but more of a novelty.
No boxes, and no papers here. Only reason why is because 1) they take up too much space, and 2) I'd rather spend my money on other watches or parts
I will admit that having a box set is nice, but not necessary to enjoy your watch.
