If you're going the distance to buy an MBW, I would say that it most certainly deserves some mods...
Here is how they arrive stock:
Add a genuine insert and genuine Tropic 127:
And you get this:
Want to know the best way to improve the look of your watch to make it appear as close to genuine as possible? Add genuine parts! Follow up with a gen crown and tube set up, mill the CG's, drill the lugs and you're set!

The only sub dial layout of a 7750 is the 12-9-6 configuration. If the subdials are in a tri-compax layout, then it's technically a 7753 copy (despite what the dealers call it).

Steve,
Let me check my parts box tonight when I get home. I might have a pair of tubes for you. If I do, I'll drop them in the mail.
-
Arthur,
Have you tried River or EL? I would think that either should be able to help source one...

Congrats Kostas!! Best wishes to the bride and groom!

Are movement sizes the same?
Yes.

I did have a laugh at the self righteous [censored] who posted that. There is seldom something more entertaining than someone who wears their ignorance on their sleeve.
Indeed! What an [censored]! Even one of the other posters on that thread comented on that....

Congrats, Chris! Well deserved, buddy!!

Nice one, Spags!
Der echte Artikel?

As quoted from above ^^
Looks to be a frankenstein using a gen movement from another Omega; possibly a fake or refinished dial and caseback engravings done after the fact. -

These most likely come up on eBay, sold and advertised as genuine...

Hmmmm... That looks like an Avitt Special, circa 2006?

If the manufacturers do decide to make a better 16600, I hope they also tackle the crystal and bezel diameter too. That's the even bigger flaw, in my opinion, as the genuine 16600 has a crystal that is almost 1mm smaller than the genuine 16610, and a bezel that is around .7mm smaller. The reps all seem to use a Sub caseband as the basis for their versions.
Now... How much of a difference does 1mm make? Quite a large difference, especially if you've ever handled a gen 16610 and 16600 in your hands at the same time to compare...

V72 DW 6263 may be my next project... Followed by a 116520 Franken just to round things out...

Your Daytona is giving me nightmares. That is the nicest Franken I have ever seen. I swear I can't sleep at night thinking about that watch.
Heehee... It sometimes causes me to lie awake too. The rapid ticking that this 36.600bph movement makes causes me to lie awake restless. So, I usually end up putting the watch in a different room
Wildlife will be hunted sooner or later. No, that´s joke , don´t sell them!
No worries! Even if I wanted to, my wife won't let me sell. I was joking around with her after I finished the Dayto and said 'Now that it's complete, it's time to sell it off...' to which she replied that after watching me fuss over this thing for a year, she's not going to let me do anything of the sort.
Naah, no other mineral like granites... :-DGreat shots ubiq.
Thank you, my friend
Nice shot, ubiq; did you use a polarizing filter for any of those shots?Thank you! Unfortunately, no filters or photoshop. I have been wanting to buy a filter, but never get around to it. I'd like to upgrade to a DSLR sometime too, as the Canon that I have now has seen some better days

Wow Micah! VERY nice!!

There are some exceptions, at least for me to justify paying higher prices for certain watches in the trading section- e.g. high quality models that have been long since out of production like the Royal Oak Nick Faldo, or in some cases, modded watches with heavy genuine parts content (if done correctly and to high standards). These are all factors I would take into account when considering a purchase.
