I quite like the gold FM actually, can any body add any comments on the accuracy of this piece? Is the blue hands an instand giveaway?
Archibald would be the best one to comment on this piece...

If I recall correct, they were sold out. Same with Ofrei...

Hmmmm... €75 is a little on the higher end methinks. Is it new? Or surpluss stock?
If you have a look around, you can find them for less- I think Dave just recently found one in a donor watch for $20 or so... If you're patient and don't mind waiting and watching, you can find a great deal!
I'll call around to a few places tomorrow to see if I can source any on my end...
Cheers,
Randy

GM-wuuut? Hand stack-huh?
:cloud9:

Eddy hit it dead on. This thing weighs as much as a brick. If the opportunity ever presents itself to examine and hold a genuine 172 in person, I encourage to do so, if only to marvel at it's unbelievable weight!
Also, the bluish color of the Tanatalum's casing is something that you have to see in person...

What was the post subject again?

IMHO spending upwards of $800 for a MBW vintage that has the crap modified out of it is a waste. I for one would rather get a $500 Ultimate from Josh that can go in the pool, passes CG and cyclops muster and had a minor pearl issue but looks brand new than have an OEM compatable vintage that looks like it's been through the mill for the last 40 years. I'm just not a vintage guy I suppose. What's the point of having something that is indistinguishable from the original in a replica if no one knows what an original looks like.
Quite possibly the funniest thing I've read all day... definitely good for a laugh!

+/- US $1k?!

It's noon here; I've been through a few of these, and my head still feels foggy...

Because a quartz watch is a toy. God intended clocks to tick. End of story.

I'm not a huge FM fan, but I think Eddie's solid gold 2892 Casablanca is a beauty!

Man, that 7mm Brevet is just SICK!! I love it!!

Man... Now that is a beauty!! For sure, you've got one hell of a collection!
Michael Young, isn´t him the hong kong watchmaster?I think he was running a site called restoration.it.go
nice and rare watch.
That is indeed the same Michael Young! restoration.itgo.com was his biz doing bracelet refinishing and the sort (prior to their merger with Multibytes).

Funny how a pair of skimpy thong underoos can provoke such urges
Glad to know you are enjoying that Tudor! I miss it... But I am glad it is getting wrist time, and is in the ownership of someone who will appreciate it!

That is one CRASY ass thong!

The engraving is easy to fix. Just add the necessary lines to complete the words (e.g. POLEX to ROLEX). Since the case is stamped as a 5513, it's almost even better, since there have been some documented cases that started as a 5513, and were converted by the MOD to 5517 spec...

The vintage ones are nice and thick. Correct in case height, bezel height, He Valve, case back... Personally, I believe that the vintage SD is the only RLX SD worth getting.
