  1. Looking at the ETA data sheet (off Cousins site) it shares quite a few characteristics with the 2824.
  2. One of these days y'all are gonna let me before I get too old to ENJOY being fully retired!
  3. You betcha! Looks nice, I kinda miss mine... 😕
  4. If y'all look at the profile shot above you'll see why I have to "relocate" the lug holes on the newer modified case. If I were to re-machine the lugs and drop the thru-holes in the same spot as the original dimples they would break out into the top of the lugs big time. I have had a couple folks wonder why I did this and it's always said that "a picture is worth a thousand words" so this looked like a good opportunity to 'splain it.
  5. Fantastic! It's great the crown is a fit on the stock rep tube. I so wanna see this thing finished!
  6. Thanks. I use a custom diamond drag point stylus in a modified CNC engraving machine.
  7. Here's one I did a few months ago. I can't remember if the owner sent it to me before or after some CG mods...
  8. I've got some of this and have used it on glass but never thought of trying it for gluing dials... https://www.amazon.com/3M-18051-Glass-Adhesive-06-Ounce/dp/B007XUOA6A
  9. I have engraved quite a few of these and they seem very reasonable.

  11. I put a couple dots of epoxy between the spacer and movement also.
  12. Personally I clip the feet, file smooth, and then epoxy the dial to the ETA dial spacer/platform after verifying proper positioning of date window and centered.
  13. I am so looking forward to seeing this finished!
  14. Cool article and pics.
  15. Not sure what kind of dial he is going to put in it. That's the fun part of this - making a part of a project and then seeing the finished product later down the road...
  16. Seems like you can build all sorts of things with an Explorer case. I was recently commissioned by a Bro. on a different forum to do some tweaks for a 6350 build he was starting. This is one of the more interesting case sets I've built. It starts with the basic mid case that you guys refer to as a "V2" with a T21 crystal for a more domed look. The case-back is then reshaped to simulate a bubble-back with the inside engraved in the "old" style. A vastly different bezel tops it off and the result was pretty cool. I really hated the bezel in pictures but once finished it started growing on me. Here's some pics...
  17. That is correct but you can use a plexi on the case and either trim down the sapphire bezel or get a different one.
  18. You should be able to use a rep Prince Date case. That's what I used to built Rangers with.
  19. Hangin' in there, D! After this week we are about to get done messing with the cabin for a while so I'll have a bit of spare time. Here are pics of the package. Are these supposed to be heat sealed all around? If so this one had definitely been glued on two sides as I was able to open it up by sliding a thumbnail between the "layers." I thought it was suspect but wanted to make sure before I told the buyer to "have words" with the seller...
  20. I guess I'll take a lack of response to mean this is "normal" on the old 600 crowns.
  21. Crystals and stuff are one of the reasons I hate messing with newer stuff. Just vintage and plexi for me!
