  1. No biggie. I don't plan on getting it or the watch wet. I just like the look of the strap.
  2. Wheaton, Sounds like a deal...I'll PM you for details. Thanks, -- M
  3. Yeah, Silix has it listed for $20US but the shipping for me would be $16 - $18. It might be worth it, but it's just hard for me to pay almost as much in shipping as the item cost. I have found a few listings on ebay for it too. The seller is out of GB. So, maybe that would work for you Chronos.
  4. Does anyone know where/if I can purchase a rep Panerai Velcro strap inside the US? I would prefer one that is all black, but yellow or blue stitching will work too. I've done a lot of looking around on the web and have found various places that sale the strap, but none in the US. I just find it hard pay ~20 shipping for an item that cost about the same. Thanks, -- M
  5. Thanks for the kind words everyone. Pugwash's tutorials makes taking decent pics pretty easy. Pug, I'll try changing the ISO setting next time. I have a few more watches that I'd like to get nice pictues of. BTW, your right the camera is a Canon S2 IS. I got it a few months ago after going to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming and being really disapointed in almost every picture my crappy 2 MP camera produced. Thanks for photoshopping my pic. I'll have to install photoshop and try my hand at that too.
  6. Thanks. I used the dial and movement out of the PAM that I bought from you last week in the PVD. I'm going to use your old case for a 005 Logo project. I'll post pics of that when I'm done.
  7. Here are some pics of my PAMs...please bear in mind that this is my first attempt after reading Pugwash's tutorials...I have lots of learning to do. Thanks Pugwash! My PAM 111H. It started off life as my first rep purchased from Ioffer. It arrived with the wrong dial. The font on the numbers was all wrong. I replaced the dial and hands with Davidsen's... Next is my PVD PAM from Davidsen also. I purchased it from a RWG member. It orginally had a blank dial, but I changed the dial recently. I have a new version of the crown guard on order from Davidsen. Damn...there is a lot of freaking dust in my house...sheesh. It all comes out in these close up pics. The PVD PAM really doesn't have all that dust inside the crystal. Here is it in B&W...still don't know if I like this or not... Anyway...there you have it. Thanks to RWG this n00b has learned how to change movements, hands, crown guards, crowns, and even is staring to learning how to take half way decent pictures. Thanks everyone for your contributions.
  8. Thanks for the tip. Pardon my ignorance, but what did you use to remove the pivot pin? -- M
  9. Nice pics and one bad a$$ RS4!
  10. Wow...I like that a lot. My wallet is laughing at me with that kind of price tag.
  11. Thanks for the info! I'm giving that a try right now.
  12. Looks nice. What was the method of distressing the strap? Got a link?
  13. Thanks Ken. I'll probably get the tool soon. Right now I'm looking for a quality Base PVD. That should keep busy for a while.
  14. I might get the nerve up to try that. I was actually thinking about getting this tool to do it though: Bergeon Scratch Removal Pen It's suposed to create a brushed look on a shiny metal surface. But you guys probably already know that. You are correct. I didn't know about RWG when I bought off of ioffer. No more need for that anymore!
  15. Thanks! Sure, I paid $225 plus $16 for 2 day shipping.
  16. Thanks for the welcome. I think that the dial on my watch is not exactly correct. The 1 in the 12 is not the same as the picture in your post. Maybe I'm mistaken on the model numbers. Dunno? Anyway, I have a lot to learn. I would like to upgrade the CG (that seems easy enough), but fixing the recesed pin is way out of my league right now.
  17. Hello, from sunny Florida... I bought this watch off of ioffer a few weeks ago (before I knew about the RWG forums): Supposed to be a PAM111H. Now I see that it has a dial close to the PAM127 instead of the PAM111H, the minutes hand is slightly tilted up, the pinion is recessed, and the crown guard is not brushed. Oh well, you live and you learn. I did have it serviced and it is running nicely. Just got a nice black strap for it too, just wish it had the right dial. That's all for now from the new guy. -- M
