  1. I personally inspected two of them about a week ago when I was in Bangkok. The MBW / MBK shop had two versions on hand. One version had a smooth, unpainted steel bezel like no other Milgauss that I've ever seen. The other version had the "normal" bezel that I was familiar with. Both were very impressive in weight and feel, but not my cup of tea...I've found that I just can't wear anything smaller than 40mm these days. Aside from that, I would recommend you getting MBW / MBK Milgauss if you been searching for one of these.
  2. Hey stilty...Please keep us posted! I would need at least two of these once you get them perfected.
  3. What do you need done? Are you coming to the DC/MD/VA Get-together on 12/16/07?
  4. Has it arrived? If so, please post some photos...Thanks!
  5. Both have about equal amounts of AR. Both are double-sided with a blueish tint which makes the dial really stand out...No complaints about the AR...Me likes!
  6. Are leather straps available for this watch? Just curious...
  7. Perhaps I'm having a senior moment, but I don't see "inverted hands" on the rep...just a different time set.
  8. I believe you are correct...For an all brushed finish, the Blackbird serves that purpose in their lineup of chronographs.
  9. Not correct...The acrylic crystal should like this...
  10. I thought this side-by-side comparison of a brushed and polished Breitling Chronomat Evolution would be helpful for those considering this mod. I did not perform the mod to my watch. It was purchased from a fellow member who had it done. I've always liked the subdued look of the brushed case and bracelet of the Breitling Blackbird, but I think I like it better on the larger EVO case. Please note that the brushed version has Swiss guts and the polished has the Asian counterpart. The only difference that I can discern is that the hands and stem are "more stable" when adjusting the time with the Swiss movement. The amount of noise from the rotor is about the same and both keep very accurate time. One more thing I noticed is that the Asian version's date changes over at exactly midnight. The Swiss version fully changes over around 5 minutes after. Not a major issue since this can be fixed when I change out the date wheel for a Lello date wheel. Enjoy the pictures... Now I need to ask myself...Do I need both? Hmmmm....
  11. Great tutorial...However, I need some clarification on a small detail... Did you use 1mm thickness solder and NOT a 1mm pin tip from the iron itself? Did you polish both sides of the lever pin or just the larger diameter side? Perhaps I'm the only one confused by this. Please clarify...Thanks in advance!
  12. Here's my 16570 (ca.2000) that was my daily beater for about 4 years...You can tell from the "battle wounds"...It's headed for a complete overhaul and service in the new year...
  13. You will need to have the hands reinstalled so that the date change over occurs when the hour and minute hands hit the 12-position. Just about any watchsmith can perform this task, or you can tackle it yourself with the proper tools.
  14. Looks pretty darn good...I'm sure that the experts will pick out the flaws, but as long as you enjoy it, who cares! Wear it well!
  15. Check it... http://replica-watch.info/phpBB3/viewtopic...=292689#p292689
  16. I'm leaning towards the 195 AND possibly a 127. I'll be visiting the MBK shop the week after my stay in HKG, so I need to keep that in mind. For the price of the 127, I can possible buy two MBK gems. I like the 009, but I don't think DSN has them...Correct me if I am wrong.
  17. A 036...Just tinkering around...
  18. Does the crystal on a 44mm case just pop out by pushing from the inside? Or do I need to remove the bezel first? I tried searching for this, but was not able to find any previous threads discussing this. Please advise...Thanks in advance!
  19. DSN has agreed to have a courier deliver my order to my hotel when I'm in Hong Kong next month! Woo Hoo! Instant gratification! Now I need to decide which one to get...Hmmmm... From the responses to the post, it seems that I should be leaning towards the following: The 195... The 082... The 127... Time to make a decision...
  20. I totally agree...I'm on my 3rd 111h and will probably acquire another one in month...And the quest goes on!
  21. That's right...I think he also has them in a Rolex style...
  22. Great looking dial! I really like the brushed look!
