  1. Don't bother and sell me this beauty! Haha, nein, viel Spa
  2. Yes. I asked at the local Omega Boutique when I inquired about a certificate of authenticity for a gen Aqua Terra I bought without box and papers. They told me that in order to get one the watch had to be send to Biel/Bienne and that this process would be 80€. The new boxset was 50 or 60€ I'm not sure anymore. The boxset was the cheaper option however. I ended up buying neither, because I wasn't sure if I actually wanted to keep the AT (ended up selling it). Ebay and other sources for things like that are normally totally overpriced. Usually it doesn't hurt to check with an AD first, they don't bite and can be very helpful.
  3. An AD can order one for you. Also Omega Boutiques (Omega flagship stores) do carry them. They are 50-60
  4. Hi! Sorry if this has been asked but I wasn't able to find an answer via the search function. I installed a gen T21 on my DW 6263 today and ran into some issues. The first being the crystal, it's little loose but I think I'll fix this with some crystal cement once it arrives. The other issue however is more critical. After installing the gen crystal the bezel won't fit anymore. It's only about 0.0001mm but I can't push it down anymore. Am I doing something wrong here or has this happened to anyone else before? Perhaps I'm not pressing hard enough but I'm really afraid of damaging the crystal, I don't want to have to buy a new one... Should I just press harder or grind away a little bit of the bezel? Is there a trick I am not aware of?
  5. Thanks Freddy, I was hoping you would answer. It really does seem there have only been sigma dials without the Daytona lettering for the 6263s so my approach wouldn't be very accurate anyway. I was looking at some 6240 as well but all their dials have ROLEX COSMOGRAPH DAYTONA written underneath the coronet so that's a dead end also. I gave it a shot anyway and tried some things on a 6263 dial which had arrived already dirty and badly printed. I didn't mind destroying it further and this is the result: It's not too bad from a distance, especially the part at the end where I applied little to no pressure with a needle. I'll try some more things in order to fix it up a little, but I don't think I will do this to my actual dial. Will have to wait for a sigma dial or an accurate 6240 I guess. Or do you know a good source for these?
  6. Hi! I was wondering if anybody has tried and actually succeeded in removing the red "Daytona" writing on a DW Dial (black) or if anybody has any idea how to do this? I would love to have a black 6263 non-Daytona dial similar to this gen (?): Actually I'm not quite sure if there's a gen equivalent, as I only seem to find white dial versions without the Daytona writing like here (the one pictured below as additional dial) or so called sigma dials(O T SWISS T O) like here or here. I'm guessing if these non-Daytona T SWISS T dials are genuine they probably are replacement dials. What do you guys think? Nonetheless I would be willing to accept the missing "sigma O's" in order to get rid of the red Daytona any tipps how I should proceed? Paint it over? Scraping it off seems no option...
  7. I don't care much subjective articles like that, far less when there are factual mistakes involved. No watch company "submitted" its watch for NASA testing, they were unmodified stock versions bought in jewelery stores. That's actually a thing particularly interesting about Omega's Speedmaster, because it passed all the severe beatings nevertheless. I'm not sure about the Hillary story either, supposedly he wrote this letter to Rolex or Rolex aswell, who knows (or cares)? For what it's worth he could have carried a 0,50$ gift watch underneath his suit and it still would have worked fine up there. Rolex watches are pure design classics. They don't need to be flashy or innovative in any way and yes they are overpriced but so is every high-end watch. The movements are fine you won't notice any difference to a standard ETA in a 1000$ watch or another company's in-House movement under normal conditions. Since I started collecting watches I noticed one thing - nobody cares for your watch. No matter what brand you are wearing, nobody notices - except for other watch enthusiasts. In the end it comes down to subjective taste, to each his own.
