  1. Sure, if you're used to wearing watches like this
  2. Try searching for Narikaa's "Porikaa" on here, you'll find plenty of information concerning its flaws. The main fault is the HE-Valve being off, it is noticeable when you compare it with a gen, as are some faults on the dial etc. It's good value for money however and you won't find a better 42mm right now.
  3. Gen "old" Aqua Terras (without new 8500 movement) can be found for <1000€ easily, but these are quite dressy. If you buy from ebay, pay via paypal and let an AD have a look once your watch arrives. If it isn't genuine you can have PayPal refund your money. Speedmasters can also be found quite cheap, POs are the most sought after Omegas both in the rep and gen world, I think 1,5-2k is your best chance on one of these. A good idea are always gen forums, when you buy from a respectable member there you should also be good. Prices are top notch normally.
  4. Nobody has both? Does it wear significantly larger than 40.9mm?
  5. My MM Daytona is at Domi's right now to have a V726 installed and some other mods. The case can apparently be modified to accept a V72 (I didn't want to buy another case from DW since he screwed me over big time with my MM), will post pictures once it returns, shouldn't be too long.
  6. Hi! I'm leaning towards a 3714 with black dial. Since I'm not too much into monster sized watches (pretty small wrists) I'm really interested how large a portuguese chrono wears compared to a Speedy Pro? I know that size-wise they are about the same but I'm really concerned about the larger dial due to the missing bezel on the IWC. Could anyone who has both please take a quick comparison shot (on and off wrist would be amazing), I couldn't find any on the net Thanks
  7. Where the **** is this thing? I don't get it, seriously, the PO is the best selling Omega by far, I can't believe they are willing to miss out on this one, there's no way Asians are sporting 45mm...
  8. I agree with Toad, small things like that are only noticeable in macro shots, I wouldn't bother. The rehaut looks pretty spot on, nice catch!
  9. Great work, very nice watch! Love this dial!
  10. Thanks, seems like it's worth a try then...
  11. Looks very nice! So PT's 1680 dial diameter is 26.5mm, not 26mm? I was thinking of converting one to a 5513 beater, but if an aftermarket dial is to small I'll have to go for MBW. Wonder how these 0.5mm would affect the looks...
  12. Looks amazing! I would definitely go with the black bezel, though, I personally don't like the ss one on any Speedmaster. I'd also vote for a SS bracelet.
  13. nice one! 5513 missing though
  14. If I were you I would really consider getting a gen. These can be bought for ~1000€ in pretty good condition (even on bracelet) and there are literally tons in the market so if you hunt around (and save up) a little you can easily get a bargain. Even if you don't like it (very doubtful) you can easily sell it without much loss. My 35th anniversary model says hello
  15. I think getting the movement checked prior to buying the other parts seems like a good idea. This sounds like an amazing project, be sure to post your progress. Do you have a reliable source for service dials?
  16. This is done regularly, usually these dials go for 1-1,5k. I don't think it's too difficult to find someone willing to swap a dial for that amount. In the end ADs are in this game to make some money, when you pay them they are usually pretty accommodating.
  17. For me, Rolex is for showing off, plain and simple. They have made exceptional watches but technology wise they are nothing special. Just look at a 6263 Daytona, it's a fine watch but no (technical) feature justifies its premium compared to a Speedmaster, JLC, Heuer etc. Rolex is one of the most recognizable brands in the world, everyone knows its expensive, everyone know it's an accomplishment to own one. Primarily it's not only about its durability (which is impressive), its craftsmanship (marvelous) but also about prestige. Everyone will know you spend a lot of money (whatever that is) on what you're wearing on your wrist once you're sporting a coronet. Try showing off a Patek, no one will care, no one will notice. Rolex does make great watches, but rarely anyone owns one for that fact.
  18. What about an ATG-Vintage Racing Strap? I'm sure they would make a great team!
  19. Beautiful WG Daytona, I was thinking about one lately and this doesn't make my decision easier! Viel Erfolg mit dem Werk!
  20. Mine's on ebay right now (search for it and tick "worldwide" on ebay.com). They seem to be pretty hard to source, I got mine from a friend of mine who is a watchmaker and won't disclose any details.
