  1. Hey Dizzy, I will have a set of NOS gen 571 endlinks tonight since I will get another NOS 78350 (with endlinks) today and won't need those as I already have a set . Drop me a line if you are interested.
  2. Finally got my Sigma dial installed by a local watchmaker. Unfortunately there were some problems with the set of gen hands, hopefully Domenico can sort this out once my 6265 bezel from DW arrives. After that I think I'm done with this one unless I come across a gen bezel at reasonable cost.
  3. Endlink engraving looks fine, not sure about the bracelet reference, bit blurry to really tell, but it doesn't look too shabby at a first glance. Maybe an older one since the clasp seems to be missing the engraved bracelet number, a better picture of the other side would help (bottom part when closed). Gen ones in that condition aren't very expensive, 557s are from Air Kings and there are quite a few around. I would not pay more than 150€ for one in that condition.
  4. Like torresp suggested I would only get the midcase from Phong if you go the J&W route, maybe pushers if you like the design better than cousin's 24-p302s. I don't believe you will get anything genuine from him, after all he does sell aftermarket parts for a living.
  5. Good luck, I'm sure this will be an exceptional piece once finished! I'm really looking forward to your pictures once you have finished this beauty. I love these EL Primero frankens for the fact that they actually use the amazing Zenith movement rather than Rolex modified version. For me an El Primero is as legendary as for example a Cal. 321 Omega and shouldn't be missing in any serious chronograph collection!
  6. When you decide to part with your MBW case, let me know, I'll take it.
  7. Thanks for the pictures, I'll definitely get one.
  8. I think, the CGs look pretty good! You're right about the crown though. I'll order one of these and mod it a little, really fell in love with MF 1680s lately!
  9. Looks amazing, great job! Could you please share some more pictures of this 1680 meters first? Where did you get it? PT? Are the CGs modified?
  10. That's a really good price and you won't have to worry about authenticity. I really hate hunting for Rolex spare parts. My previous source isn't able to order parts anymore (and obviously was selling with a huge mark-up anyway) so I asked a local AD for bracelet prices and was quoted 900€ (WTF?) for a 78350 with 571. In about two weeks I'll check out a vintage watch fair, perhaps these guys aren't totally insane.
  11. I don't think that they are the same. To my knowledge 16520 and 116520 Cosmographs use 24-p402 pushers, while 6263/6265 use 24-p302 pushers. For reference a picture of a 16520 U serial and a 6265 with one modern replacement pusher and an earlier version. You can clearly see that the circular engravings (I don't know a better term in English) are very different. The 24-p402 has two engraved lines at the top of the pusher while the 24-p302 has a single engraved line at the top and one closer to the case (which isn't present on the p402). All modern replacement pushers on 6263/6265 Daytonas look like this, I have never seen one with the same pushers as a 16520 or 116520. CousinsUK has generic 24-p302 which are very good but no 24-p402. Here's a modern 116520, where you can see that they have the same 24-p402 pushers installed.
  12. Gen? Just kidding, DW's dials are really good, all other aftermarket versions I know of are way worse. You might try and replace the coronet, though his current versions look very good again. I guess he has his QC concerning some of his dials in order again. The one that came on my black one was really ugly, I replaced mine with one from a gen Air King dial I bought specifically for this reason. I think the result is ok, definitely looks more accurate than it did before, unfortunately I can't find a picture with the old one installed. Edit: Well, you can't really see the coronet in this picture, sorry. DW's dials are the best around in my opinion, especially the standard versions. Freddy posted a better PN version a few months ago, I'm not quite sure where he got it though.
  13. Looks great! I don't know where you can find these straps, but I think they would look amazing on any PO.
  14. WTB: Phong or DW 6265 bezel

  15. Quick and ugly wristie, please excuse the reflections. My 6263 trying on a different look, I know the bezel is wrong (6239) but I really like it so far! If anyone has a spare 6265 bezel lying around, I'd love to get my hands on it!
  16. As someone with a broken V23 copy (aka mystery movement) I would strongly advise against going that route. The V23 is highly unreliable and will eventually break - IF it does work to begin with. Sourcing replacement parts is impossible and you will therefore be stuck with a broken watch and searching for a way overpriced gen V23 or a pricey but often well worth it V72 donor watch. I also doubt someone has spend money on the development of a new refined V23 copy version. All personal communication aside, all our Asian suppliers are still in the market to make money, I don't think they care too much about the quality (i.e reliability) of their movements (see sec@6 Daytona). Decide for yourself if it's 100% accuracy or a cost effective 6263/6265 version you are looking for. If it is accuracy you're after the only real way to go is V72 with all cost involved. These builds are highly satisfying but do come at a (vast) premium, a fact which should really put you off when a vintage Cosmograph isn't your über-grail. If you just like the look, stick with a A7750/7760 powered Spinmaster build. The movement is reliable and apart from someone who is really into Cosmographs (someone you aren't very likely to encounter under normal circumstances) no one will notice the slightly off subdials. All gen case parts which are normally replaced on V72 builds also fit these cases, so you will be able to build a very accurate one while still using a more reliable movement. I was in the market for a budget-friendly 6263 and bought the V23 copy. Mine arrived broken and could not be fixed. I opted for a V726 powered black sigma build with a lot of gen parts (incl. gen dial and hands - yet to be installed) and have never regretted it. Had I saved my money on this POS V23 copy however, mine would be sitting on a gen bracelet instead of a Yuki one right now.
  17. These aren't very popular, especially the quarz versions. I had one with blue dial and co-axial movement for a few months, I think I paid about 800€ for it (without papers). It's a nice dress watch but the AR was awful, and I mean awful! These are beautiful watches in pictures, but once on my wrist mine soon lost its appeal. That said, I would never buy a watch with such crappy pictures, no matter what bargain it might seem to be. These also come in different sizes, there's a 36mm version and a 38.5mm version. The small one is even less popular than the other one and from the seller's crappy pics this one does look kind of small...
  18. Probably a Milsub with excellent provenance:
  19. Beautiful, Ronin! Since my beloved 6263 isn't with me at the moment, still my only other option...
  20. Only General Discussion, Omega and Rolex Forum + Parts and Watches for sale.
  21. I would definitely check AD prices before ordering from Ofrei. Perhaps a grey market seller is also willing to sell you one. Ask several dealers, often they have very different ideas how much a bracelet costs.
  22. I wish I found someone able to order parts again, every time I'm over at VRF I can't believe what these greedy idiots charge for parts.
  23. Around 100€ in Europe if you can find someone able to order one.
