  1. According to Stefano Mazzariol's book "A Legend is Born": Rolex Daytona 6240: Twinlock 700 winding crown (7mm) Rolex Daytona 6263/6265: Twinlock 700 (7mm), from 1972 on Triplock 701, second half 70s Triplock 702 and from around 1982 Triplock 703. Rolex Daytona 6238/6239/6241/6262/6264: Oyster Twinlock 600 (6mm) During service they are all fitted with their crown's modern counterpart which is parts number 24-703-0 (7mm) and 24-600-0 (6mm) respectively. All these crowns have different tubes to go with, so the challenge is not only sourcing the correct crown but also a matching tube which can be a real pain. If you put a Twinlock crown on your Cosmograph you might also want to exchange the pushers for correct ones from that era (parts number 24-p301 for 6263/6265) but these are ridiculously expensive. I think the same chart will apply to Submariners (at least Ref. 1680 and 5513/5512). Until 72 Twinlock 700 and so on.
  2. 6263/6265 and 6240 have 7mm crowns not 6mm. I think the non oyster cosmographs (without screw-down pushers) take 6mm but I'm not very familiar with those.
  3. Thanks alligoat for your input! I Played around a little bit with photoshopto compare the Ingod44 dial with one from Minh Quy. I photoshoped them into a picture of gens from the article above in order to get a feel how they would look installed on a watch. Here's the result, which one do you guys like better? MQ (left) vs. Ingod44 (right) vs. Here are the different gen dial versions for comparison: MQ "installed": Ingod44 "installed": I'm not quite sure. Both have their flaws, I like the coronet on MQ's but the red writing is too far from the depth rating. Ingod's coronet and Rolex font bothers me, then again the bottom parts looks more accurate to me...
  4. Hi! Does anyone know where I can find a good, accurate red 1680 meters first dial? Pictures of projects with one are also greatly appreciated. Here's a very interesting post concerning these dials. Apparently there are some "scary accurate fakes" out there... Some gen eyecandy Thanks
  5. Beautiful pieces! Where did you get that 6263 bezel? Phong? I can't make out the 7s, are these the correct ones as per genuine?
  6. I don't think that these are the same ones, but very similar. I have a pair from cousins, they look very similar to Rolex replacements (from pictures) but soom details seem a little bit different (e.g depth of this "ring thing" on top of the pusher).
  7. He has replied concerning some of the parts, will send individual messages once I get info on the bracelets. No pushers, modern crystals or anything like that, case parts seem to become harder, almost impossible to source. Please don't ask for other items, I won't inquire about more until this order is finished. I will also elaborate what is possible to source and what is not after the parts are ordered. Edit: Btw. Price increase of 7-8% compared to last year
  8. Wow, I received A LOT of requests, please don't send anymore since I don't want to overwhelm my parts guy. I will ask for every part requested so far and let you all know by PM when I hear back from my him.
  9. No, 201 Euros 60 Cents. 201,60€ is about $274 a piece.
  10. Please send me a PM with what you need and don't reply to this thread with your specific parts listed. In order you can get an idea in what price range these spare parts are, I checked some of my requests with him from last year (may have changed since Rolex constantly increases prices). - Tropic 21: 100,80€ - 24-703-0 7mm SS crown: 144,-€ - 24-7030-0 Tube incl. gasket: 72,-€ - 24-p302 Daytona pusher: 201,60€ (for one) - 78350/571 oyster band: 450,-€ This is what he charged me excluding shipping.
  11. Just to clarify, from experience he is not able to source dials, please don't ask for one. Also I don't think he will be able to source long discontinued items like folded link bracelets, twinlock crowns etc., sorry. The other parts shouldn't be a problem. As a rule, if Rolex still services watches with these parts or used to not long ago, you should be good.
  12. Since I'm in the process of ordering some stuff from a watch maker friend of mine for me and another member of this forum I'd like to offer you guys a rare opportunity. This friend is the guy who sourced my NOS 78350 bracelet with 571 endlinks and my other two sets of 571s (one of which I still own). Apart from bracelets and endlinks he is also able to source pushers, crowns, tubes and crystals some of which are pretty expensive on gen forums. These are only modern parts (so no Twinlock crowns, 702 tubes or rare Daytona bezels - no modern service bezels for vintage Daytonas either) but it's still better than spending gazillions on VRF. The stuff is not cheap (after all it's 100% genuine Rolex) but usually is substantial less costly than on several gen boards (NOS bracelets incl. endlinks for vintage models starting at 400,-€). I will send a list of parts I need middle of this week to him so he can check availability and prices. Anyone who needs a bracelet or stuff like that please drop me a line, I will check for these parts as well and let you know. I can't promise he will be able to source them, but it's worth a try. edit: Not possible anymore.
  13. Nice project, great parts! I've also got a 94010 dial lying around. Yuki's case looks great, I'm still not sure if I should also go that route or stick with a MBK. Really looking forward to the finished build.
  14. Hey vlydog, your pm box doesn't accept messages, please drop me a line, I might be able to help you out with a NOS set.
  15. Not bad... 6263/6265 Black Sigma dial. One quick picture from me (sorry for quality) and one from the seller, since I don't have the time to take proper pictures at the moment. I'm one happy camper right now! Now the last challenge for my Daytona will be a gen 6263 bezel (and possibly a 6265 as well), but it will really have to wait this time. Shouldn't be to hard to find one then though, I'll settle for a service replacement.
  16. No 16520, the dial's about 35+ years old. Come on, no other guesses? Version? Colour?
  17. Any ideas? A little hint, I'm really, really excited...
  18. Do you have a photograph of the ends? Reference number there contains a huge aftermarket tell, but up to now clasp does looks pretty legit. I have posted a thread here which features a genuine 78350 for comparison.
  19. Beautiful, Robert! Gen here as well, 35th Anniversary Speedy
  20. Beautiful watch , I don't think I could part with it. I'd try to sell it as a complete watch first, if there's no taker you can always sell the parts later on.
  21. Don't buy this one with only that picture. When you have one of at least the back (preferably opened so you can see the movement) one can tell if its a gen. Serial numbers are usually completely wrong/missing, caseback contains huge tells. If the seller's fine, he won't hesitate to take additional pictures.
