  1. I thinks so, the hight of both movements is slightly different, see here: Valjoux 72: H=6.95mm Valjoux 23: H=5.82mm With my V726 installed the difference is very striking compared to when the copy movement was installed. I don't think Domi modified the case, so it should be a similar difference when you fit a gen V23.
  2. Domi fitted my V726 in a MM case with no problem. I think he didn't even have to modify the case, perhaps I was very lucky and David stuck mine in a V72 case. I don't know for sure, but I guess that's what he does since it wouldn't be very practical for him to have extra cases for a relatively low demand version. As I told you on another forum don't buy the V23 copy, it'll break eventually, IF it does works when you receive it. I would also go for a gen V72 instead of a V23. Rehaut will be wrong when you put a V23 in it and the price difference today also doesn't justify the "small" solution. Something I've learned from my 6263 (which was a headache and took me over a year to finish) is that careful planning will save you tons of cash. Think about what you expect from your watch, if it's accuracy bite the bullet and save up some more. If you just like the Cosmograph design and look for a relatively cheap solution go for the 7760 version, it'll save you a lot of trouble!
  3. Superb watches, superb photos! The SD is amazing!
  4. Haha, yeah it is, Donerix, Prost! Thanks again, actually I have considered to have back engraved with "Fuerza Aerea Del Peru" but I still need to read up some more about how this was done. I think it wasn't engraved actually but rather stamped, and contrary to the British Milsubs this was done by Rolex and not by the Peruvian Airforce themselves.
  5. Thanks! Yes, bought this as a complete V23 copy version. The lugs are pretty sharp though any ideas how to fix that without ruining the case?
  6. I finally found the time to take pictures of my 6263 , hope you like it. Build realised by Master Domi, thanks again! Modded DW dial (removed the red writing and replaced the clownish looking coronet with one from an Air King dial), gen V726 , crystal, crown, pushers and 571 endlinks. Bracelet is a Yuki but I'm saving up for a 78350. I'd love to finish it off with a sigma dial and service bezel but this will take some time. I blame this build totally on all of you in this forum, I clearly lost my senses somewhere in 2009/10 while browsing the Rolex section here!
  7. Some of these seem to have been retrofitted with bracelets (i.e major modifications of the case ergo massive loss of genuineness every collector with some sense would be interested in). I don't know why anybody would bid on this without proper pictures (it might very well be genuine), his stories on the other hand (watchmaker, dad etc.) sound pretty thrilling and immensely add to the value of the watch, of course...
  8. Is it me or is there a rise in FS and WTB threads from non-supporting members in the brand forums recently? This forum is great, if you want to use it to the full extent, just buy a VIP-membership, it's $3.00/month, dude. More than fair for all info, deals etc. you can get here.
  9. Crown and insert make a huge difference and are fairly cheap mods, great watch!
  10. As far as I know Rolex based its 727 on an updated/improved V72 which is called V726 and already has a beat of 21,600 (I have one of these in my 6263) perhaps this is the reason Phong's parts don't always work. You can read more about V72/726/727s here. I didn't replace any movement parts in my 6263 since I'm saving up for a gen dial, bezel etc. which is way more important to me than a correct movement bridge.
  11. Interesting Teejay, could you tell us more? Will a gen bezel insert, crystal and dial fit this watch? Do you have pictures of your result?

    My 5513

Looks great! Is this an old MBK or did you buy this one recently? Where did you source it? Narikaa?
  13. Wow, thanks for sharing, they really managed to capture the madness involved
  14. Here's a very good reference guide to Speedmaster bracelets. I would leave the hands alone, they look stunning and you will only get luminova replacements which will look totally out of place on your tritium dial.
  15. Nice Matt, looks great! I can definitely understand why you got rid of your 45mm UPOs, the 42mm fits your wrist perfectly (mine's quite similar)! Love the rubber strap! Did you get your stuck bezel fixed somehow?
  16. Beautiful, congrats! I would guess 80s? These things are build like tanks, they last forever! Mine's now almost 15 years old and despite one repair for 50€ there's never been a problem, it's running +/- 6 sec. every single day. Nice patina btw., enjoy your present!
  17. 997, 987!!! Watches on the other hand, vintage, VINTAGE!
  18. If you're in EU you could try this one... http://www.vintagewatches.it/orologio.asp?idProdotto=263 80,-€ for a gen
  19. Did you have a look at his store? He's got 727 movements, 6263 spares in masses and even a 5517 (!!!) spare dial for sale! His prices aren't too ridiculous either I think, seen worse on VRF.
  20. Oh, yes it will! I've been there about a year ago but then again I'm very happy with my V726 6263 now!
  21. It's a shame he doesn't send what he is advertising, the one on his page does look promising indeed, but the fat font and "S" makes it completely undesirable for me. I just had a look at Phong's, it looks like it gets the 110 spacing and "S" issues right but the markers on it seem to be too far from the etch of the bezel and the font too thick, bummer. Thanks for the review!
