I'm going to have to get a different "type" of sand paper.. maybe one for metal.. the insert just slides along the one I got.. it's the only one the local store down the block had.. check with your hardware store and inquire about sand paper for hard plastics.. not wood...the sand paper I was using prior to running out to get a thicker grade would work if I wanted to spend all day on it.. but with the proper paper it should be easier with little time spent....it's almost there.. just a little more.. tomorrow..

edit add:.. I think the metal wet sand paper with high grit and jewelers rouge in the paper will do fine..

I just checked on one of my orders tracking number through EMS tracking system shows 'Dispatched from sorting office' guangzhou. Said that for a few days if I check on Parcelforce I get 'arrived in destination country awaiting customs'

Still waiting for a parcel from Eurotimez - a watch ordered in early November as a Christmas present for my GF. It has still not arrived, as the UK forwarder was on vacation until now. Asked Eurotimez for feedback, but no reaction until now...

Had a sudden rush then confused sig for avatar and thought you were asking if anyone WTB......Oh well!

Well I took the plunge and bought the Gen 217 dial and hands as the 000 dial I have is already pretty good in terms of correct logo tilt, markers thickness' etc much moreso than the 217 DSN dial is anyway.

On waiting list for gen crystal though I do have an option on having one cut for me but thats only in synthetic.

So in meantime I will get gen dial and hands fitted, get CG and lever modded I have a DSN and EL to play with and get crystal AR'd on inside with clear tint AR. I may be able to source a correctly laid out movement but thats a distant hope at the moment.

But not to worried on the movement at moment as over here Brits are too polite to ask you to take your watch off unless of course your getting mugged!!

Does anyone have any pics, drawings or links to a 217 CG thats not attached to the watch case? I would like to reference for getting a DSN CG or EL CG both of which I have to be as close to gen as posible. Though neither seem to be quite right I am hoping a little work can sort it. But I cant tell from any of pics I can find as the gen CG's are on the watch itself and the angles always give a different look in terms of the chamferring and angles on the ends of the CG as it sits in the insets of the case.

Any help would be appreciated.

Unless I am missing something all gen dials and hands on the PAM hand winds will work with any 6497 movement (rep or gen) - whether on a 217 or 000. What you want to be careful of is whether the movement you are using has the correct bridge plates for a clear case back Destro. Remember the plates are reversed on a proper Destro movement. That is why there are so many fewer franken 217's.

Thanks K, yes the movement is upside down. So do I understand right the issue is only a matter of looks rather than it working? The next step would then be to find a correctly bridged movement?

Does any one know if a 217 gen dial and hands will fit a DSN SWISS H MOVT WITH DAGGER FUNCTIONAL SWAN NECK

Or indeed if a gen dial and hands for 000 will fit an Asian Swan neck?

If not what if anything can be done to adapt it?

Well still no update today from EMS...I was hoping to have my Skyland this week...

When I get that info I then change to my carrier for UK either Royal Mail or ParcelForce. Input tracking number and get latest update have you tried tracking through USPS etc? Although Royal Mail dont show packet on their system till they have delivered it!!

the O rings are a very good trick, too, but only if the lever is just slightly too loose. But for example on a LH crown guard I found the hole in the lever so much to big that the O rings did not work. The cable trick worked, though.
