  1. I have read a lot of guys on here do the epoxy mod on the HE valve with their DSSD's even recently. Not sure if its needed on the ultimate though. Might be worth looking in the search tool if you can get it to work properly.
  2. Thanks Lani Yes the reason I ask is for a rolex bracelet. I did read that it gives it a better look but I honestly didnt understand how 2 hours in vegetable oil and mag polish could help, well the oil anyway. The claim was it would give 316L a 914 look. Thanks again
  3. Does anyone have a link to a tutorial on oil baths for SS bracelets I have searched but cant find anything under the subject itself or possible derivitives.
  4. Thanks I do like the 219 but Paneristi list it as a brown dial so I am not so sure. Thats a lovely watch, any chance you could give me some hints on what you did and how. I tried clicking but kept going to top of the thread. I will check out your profile. And thank you guys I thought I smelt or something!! :D
  5. Is there anyone out there that could take the time to answer!!
  6. Thanks I got your PM thank you for the update but surely if my issue was the dial and not the watch why wouldnt you post pics of the replacement once fitted to fulfill the point of the QA process and in turn satisfy me that the issue had been resolved. The concern is if a significantly flawed dial on a watch can get through your own QA process which is done prior to pics being posted then how can I be confident the watch dial which has been replaced is of a satisfactory finish or indeed no other issues have arisen as a result of the disassembly for repair and in turn reassembly. My (This) comment is based on your own stated QA policy and procedure and your additional undertaking to confirm Gen ETA movement on relevant orders would also underline the fact that a visual inspection must of been initially carried out from a QA point of view. As you recall this wasnt a minor flaw, the Rolex crown was significantly out of line with the 12 marker and in turn the writing below, this would not be something I believe to be a simple matter of subjectiveness but rather a clear flaw even to an untrained eye. So now all I can hope is that the watch that arrives is of a satisfactory standard and I do not have any further delay or additional cost as a result of this issue being unresolved upon receipt of the watch. Thanks
  7. Arthur It is a farce to be in this situation, given my reasons for using ET. I agree totally with your comments especially regarding the emails. Everytime I send one it is hit and miss if I get a response or if they accept it was received. To be honest I had a multiple order I was planning to make but thats on hold until I can see a satisfactory resolution to this issue. I find it difficult to understand that they are that busy given the amount of QA pics that go up on a daily basis. Although I dont doubt their want to provide the service they advertise I dont see it in the actual service they provide currently. Certainly in my instance and also in yours I accept the risks associated with this hobby including inconsistent QA from the manufacturers but given the fanfare about the QA process and the opportunity to approve prior to shipping to remove this issue, I dont accept this particular risk with ET afterall this was one of the reasons why I was prepared to pay more. It does beg the question whether the practicalties of providing this aspect of their service is one that can be sustained by them or indeed relied upon by us, the purchasers. Let us know how you get on and good luck mate
  8. to peet choodessny moloko or some juicy firegold and feel most pyahnitsa!! real horrorshow! My dooby droog
  9. Gill-O-Shay? I think I had a drink in there once when I was in Dublin!!
  10. I am trying to find a destro that can be fully modded but my choices are getting limited based on answers from experts and research on here and elsewhere. My first choices were....... PAM 123, 22, 115, 26 but from what I have been told or read the parts (non-gen) for a full mod are limited or non existent in some cases on these watches, well those available. I know there is the 217 but I dont like this watch mainly due to the crystal and the loupe effect. I am not looking for a Ti so that reduces my choices even further! But can anyone tell me are there any other destro's that I havent mentioned preferably pre-V? I have searched reference section at Paneristi and a few others such as Watchquote etc but I cannot find anything definitive to say they are not out there. Thanks
  11. If you look on the reviews in the review section and the relevant links with in them that will get you started. Also its just a matter of searching the subforums but I suggest you decide on a few brands/models you like and go from there. Good luck
  12. In my experience the Breitling SA or Seawolf (espec Yellow dial). Oh and the SFSO
  13. I had an email from ET saying my watch had been shipped. The problem is I havent seen any QA pics of the replacement watch. The first which was posted was defective the dial print was completely off centre. I replied to them explaining this, to both the notification and to Neo. He said it would be sorted. But now the watch is being sent despite my refusal and if it has been replaced which I dont know !!! it hasnt been posted on their XML for my approval. I am not very happy either way given this whole so called QA process I have sent them a few emails but no response yet.
  14. There is a guy in Brummie land who will let you see his stock. He is a trusted dealer on RG.
  15. Blimey member since 2007? 9 Posts but first time your writing? Whats the story on that? Best you look in the dealer section and the reviews. Make up your own mind.
  16. Thanks for sharing. I know what to look out for now!! I always enjoy reading the gen forums when they talk about fakes especially when they are sold on their site, they seem so surprised at the quality of them and the added saleability items like boxes papers etc/ As I am sure most of you know many of them join these sites to stay up with current replicas and their tells! I was reading about one guy today, Hello Seabadger if your reading this who trawls this and other sites. I cant blame them
  17. You have asked a question thats the equivilent of "Does God exist and who is he/she/it??" There are many variants depending where you get it and whether they do any mod work before its shipped to you? All of them have varying flaws. I can only suggest you search the forum and you will find the info from numerous discussions, then make your own choice based on what you read.
  18. Great story but did you get the batteries the caulk and the right filter? I hate cliff hangers!!
  19. Welcome mate and enjoy. This place is all you need.

    PAM 63

ST4 I saw one here http://www.tswisswat...lack-p-398.html And I think Perfect Clones and TT use to sell one. So I imagine it can be still got not sure about the dial though.
  21. Good to know you have got our backs! This game is risky enough without letting them get in amongst us. But I think it still important us new guys take responsibility to check members (through previous posts, feedback, involvement etc) for ourselves before we buy and if in doubt ask.
  22. First thing is dont panic, ET do in my experience take a good few weeks. You will be updated at every stage by them. After you order, you then move forward through the payment process then the confirmation, then when your watch is ready you will get a photo of it asking you to confirm your happy then its shipped out to a forwarding area then its shipped to you. It can take anything from 2 to 8 weeks depending on country etc. Just dont panic if your concerned Email them they will reply. Check out the other posts here or in the Dealer section for more info. Also I think everyone is ordering a DSSD so again they will be busy especially coming up to christmas. Good luck and enjoy your purchase
