Well good luck with it mate, remember to post some pics. You got through WMP? Only ask cause there is a guy on RG, I think is it BLK? who tweeks them etc. I think he has his own versions from them as well which he sells. He's probably here as well never looked. But I am sure others here will know the score on that and correct his name for me.

Welcome Boris. Thanks for sharing. Are you going to get one then??
  3. My baby - Lovely watch. Can do more pics if anyone wants to see more of it.
  4. I have just advertised mine........ Wheres my Bentley then??
  5. I know I must be being thick here but why would you or anyone here take the time to report it? Is there a forum protocol on reps/fakes being advertised on Ebay? Is it just the ones being passed off or implied as being genuine?
  6. I will admit it when questioned but even with my Gens I say they are reps if asked, no point attracting attention! Funny though when I do say it with a gen, the response has always been "yeah, thought so!!"
  7. I have had good few from him in last ten days.
  8. Look forward to seeing those improved pics To late for me mate!! When I chased up to find out the score on my disapproval, I was told they sent it already but had sorted the issues. Just not in aposition to agree with that statement until its in my hand now! Sort of defeats the purpose of the QA procedure!!
  9. I agree but surely you dont need a qualified or knowledgeable person to spot uneven inscriptions, slanted marker, uncentred pearls, misaligned crowns. This is basic QA surely the pics presented for clients should be without these very basic flaws. And if you do consider the watch of poor finish or quality it goes without saying that the pics of the resolved issues should be reposted without specifically needing to ask. Surely its implied by virtue of the pics being posted in the first place for customer comments. The issues with the DSSD seem to be reoccurring consistently so this shouldnt be the responsibilty of the individual to identify but the company who must by now be knowingly providing these watches given the feedback here, Is that not after all the reason why most of us are prepared to pay the higher costs than that of other trusted dealers and one of the benefits promoted by ET. Here is part of QC commitment by ET from their website To ensure that you receive what you've ordered in a top notch state our High Quality Control includes but not limited to: What to Expect: - Checking for crooked markers - Checking the lume - Checking the pearl if it is acceptable - Checking the overall quality - Checking the bracelet / clasp - Checking if the movement is exactly as ordered/advertised (New ETA for instance and not a copy/second grade ETA) - Checking if all functions work like it normally would (we do not however check if the watch keeps good time) - Checking the bezel - Checking the dial (no dust, dirt) - Check the date and days if applicable (1-31) - Check if all screws can unscrew I just hope the watch I receive meets this minimum standard as I wasnt given the follow up photos to show the resolution of issues I raised when my order pics were posted.
  10. The biggest difference between the 316F and 316L is the carbon content which is greater in the F. (AISI Standards) As well as the levels of Phosphorus, Sulfur and Molybdenum. From the manufacturers point of view the 316F is cheaper to buy and also has a greater machinibility than the 316L therefore increasing the lifecycle of the machining tools used. This I would suggest is the main driver for its use. Of course a better machinability does imply a better or finer brush finish. I have seen a comparison of the two on a TAG and others have been discussing this on other forums(I am surprised Lani's Ears aren't burning!!) they also havent noted any significant difference, certainly none that would warrant any increased costs. What will be interesting to see is when the feedback starts coming in from the average member in terms of the watch they have been sold and its looks. As I assume Lani's orders are given that little more TLC at the QA process as you might expect given his reviewer status. There are other differences in respect of these grades of S/S which I and others have discussed elsewhere but in the main I believe the biggest benefit in the use of this material is to the manufacturer by reducing OH's and Lifecycle costs and not the end user. IMHO
  11. Thats a good way of making a decision initially. What a difference it makes!
  12. Thanks for the replies especially from the 'Big Guns' of this rep world. I appreciate it. I thought someone here might of got the latest V5 by now.
  13. Now I am confused - my understanding is the DSSD crystal is domed not flat hence the loupe. Are you saying the DSSD rep has a flat crystal? It is a commonly discussed issue the loupe effect but noone has talked about AR having any influence on the effects of viewing at 45+ angles. I noticed JJ's Marina Militare in the FS forum has a pic showing the sort of effect I mean but not as much as reported by others on the forums in respect of the DSSD.
  14. Its a common term with magnifying glasses, there is a slight magnification of the dial and a distortion but its rarely caught by pics though again I dont know with the gen DSSD. I have seen it here on one pic of the PAM217, its one reason why I dont like that destro (Leftie).
  15. I thought the Loupe was the magnifying effect or distortion on the crystal when viewed at an angle. Like those old reps you use to get many moons ago. Is that not right? What I mean Nico is its not something that is fitted but is created by the angle of the doming of the crystal in relation to its thickness. Is that right or have I got it wrong? Cheers
  16. My understanding is the DSSD gen does not have AR nor do any Rolex's? But the rep crystal does have a greater loupe effect than the gen as I understand? Would a single or double AR improve this difference on the loupe effect? Would it make a difference if you could just AR the inside of the glass only around the loupe of the crystal? Has anyone tried this? Would it work? Is it necessary on the latest ET DSSD or the Perfect clone DSSD, hopefully Lani might cover that soon
  17. Seriously though if your mate doesnt buy it can you let me have sellers details as I will. I need some crap to throw at my neighbour!!!
  18. Thats a good resolution and explanation for this, and hopefully will resolve Dans concerns, good luck. It does highlight the value of this forum to allow issues like this to be openly aired as proved many times before by the speedy resolutions of the issues. I applaud ET for their response. I do however await my DSSD with some trepidation given my QC issues which have been discussed elsewhere. I do feel however that ET need to be careful that this QC issue with the DSSD doesnt snowball as there are quite a few issues that have arisen with the quality recently on this forum which seem to be being ignored.
  19. I guess its the eyes that go first followed by a loss of bowel control!!! :D:D
  20. New domains check dealer section they posted changes last week
  21. Dont you just love the BS when its presented so professionally!!!!
  22. I was searching for a dial and came across this. http://www.chrono24.com/en/search/parts.htm?showid=1484809&dosearch=1&searchexplain=1&SEARCH_ADTYPE_ID=Z&SEARCH_BRAND_ID=192&SEARCH_COUNTRY_ID=DE|AT|CH|IT|FR|SE|NL|ES|UK|LU|BE|DK|PT|FI|CY|IE&OR_ADATTRIBUTES[]=2003&SORTORDER=1&numresults=1 Is this a decent price for these dials? I thought the watches themselves were $15 to $20 grand
  23. Nice watches, wear em well. But I dont understand how you know my mother-in-law or indeed why she is holding your watches!
  24. There are plenty of guys on the dealers forum who will do this and have no problems sending to the EU. Try looking at the list and check their reviews. Also see what they have if its not there send them an Email and they should be able to source it for you. No matter who sends it, there is always a risk. But some will cover your order even if its seized by customs. So check their terms as well most trusted dealers do I believe.
