Yes, there is a 703 that coronet-wise and dots-wise looks like a 702. The best way to my eye, to identify weather it is a 702 is the crimping. Read Ubi's very well photographed post earlier in this thread and you'll see what I mean (if you haven't already!) No sunflower effect? Not a 702!

I thought a couple of my macro shots were pretty good.....Considering they were taken in my kitchen on an iPhone with a 30x loupe sellotaped over the camera's lens!

Thanks chaps. Don't mind you asking at all. Problem is, I can't remember! I had the movement and dial from a watch that I converted to V72. The gen parts I paid rack rate prices from ebay and our forum. The build cost 330 euro including a service. Bezel I got for $160 and Ofrei pushers were bought from his website. DW case set and hands were again just bought directly from him for the going rate. As the Americans say - do the math!

Have got my 6263 back from Domi and thought I'd share pics with you (sorry about photography). Domi was brilliant to deal with I would highly recommend his work. Here she is:- Domi tested the watch for watertightness and its good for 5 atmospheres. Don't think I'll get to that in my swimming pool!

I have no idea. I can only speak of my reps and I'm in the UK, not famed for its hours of sunshine but my first cartel 1665 has faded so much it's almost a born again Great White!

On receiving and admiring my 1665 back from Deutschland I was flicking through stuff on the web and came across a website that was banging on about seadwellers and the author coined a phrase which I think is wholly appropriate but I had never heard used before. That being Sea Dweller 1665 "Double Pink" and here is the photo of the watch to which he referred: I have noticed myself that my reps are beginning to take on a patina of their own which is nice. I have a 1665 dial that started out a double red and is now a double very light pink!

Just had a look through my parts box and found a set of MBW hands. I must therefore have bought a new handset for this watch, I think it was a Clarks set. Mystery solved. As you were...

My beloved 1665 had sat in a box for over 6 months. Refusing to function. The seconds hand would move maybe 3 or 4 'ticks' then stop. I was not a happy bunny. However, a much respected fellow member offered to take a look at it. I gratefully sent the piece to him. He kept me informed of the situation, cured the problem. Checked the watch for watertightness (3 atm) and today it landed back where it belongs - on my wrist. Whilst admiring it I noticed that the handset is different to my new MBW 5513 and I was wondering what you experts thought of it? I had the watch built many years ago and can't honestly remember if I replaced the old MBW hands or not (I think not) so the questions are these - is this an old MBW handset and do you think it's worth replacing them? I have a TC handset which I think I will put on my 5513 along with a new dial. Anyway here she is in all her glory: Specs: Old school MBW case, shaved CG's and aged caseback. Drilled lugs with 2mm bars. Ubi DWO. Replaced insert (can't remember which one) plus Ofrei pearl. Slow beat ETA. WSO 580 endlinks on old MBW 7206. Gen 703 tube and crown.

@ freddy333, I know that the F3 is a great camera, I also have a Nikon macro lens so given enough light I could probably produce some good shots, trouble is - not digital. I might try a few shots then scanning them but that's where it all goes wrong. Computers are useless and printers are even more useless than that!

Thanks chaps for your kind words. Praise from you is praise indeed. Unfortunately my photographic equipment is vintage as well (Nikon F3) so my digital camera is called an iPhone. Now I've seen some pretty good results with these but I'm not sure I will be able to equal them so when I post about the watch I apologise in advance for the piccies.

Such is the roller coaster ride of replica watch building when you have limited funds and even more limited knowledge. However, I am pleased to report that my 6263 has been built and will be winging its way to me very shortly. Here's a quick peek:
