  1. I'm sorry Davide there is no easy route here, like the others have said you must do your homework. All reps have their flaws, you must learn them, understand what can be overcome and decide for yourself what you can live with. At the end of the day it all boils down to $$$ Good luck and happy hunting.
  2. I've just been in contact. I got a (prompt) reply from 'Hendro' at this address: marsaktive@gmail.com Hope this helps.
  3. I agree move on and chalk it up to experience.
  4. @ legendkiller Cheers for that, I did consider doing that but I got engrossed in a thread and was banging on in my usual fashion and the 1000 just passed me by so the moment was lost. Never mind. Lets have a party when I get to 2000!
  5. Congrats. I myself passed the 1000 mark a couple of weeks ago. Nobody noticed, nobody cared poor me poor me......
  6. There was a thread some years ago with a very detailed comparison between gen T39, Clarks T39 and another aftermarket one (can't remember which) and the clarks came out very respectably compared to the gen. So much so that if I had a gen I wouldn't be too bothered about fitting a clarks plexi, I doubt the naked eye would ever tell the difference. I am only talking superdome here of course.
  7. Nice stuff. BTW Clark's T39's are very good and very reasonable. If you want superdome for supermarket prices that is
  8. First one gen. The shape of the number 6 is gen like, second one wrong.
  9. By the way By-tor, I was at a car auction a few years ago (Battersea Park London, RM auctions) and a Merc 600 laudalet in similar condition to the above went for (I think) £500k or something rediculous like that. I still don't know why but as PT Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute"
  10. That bezel insert is sooo tempting, I mean I get to save $1k and it's in such great condition too. Wow, irresistable. Pity he's only got the one.
  11. Fantastic. I truly believe that builds like this highlight the insanity of spending the amounts of money required to buy the 'real' thing. The price tag bears no relation to the actual quality of the item because as is the case here that 'factory quality' can be replicated perfectly. Superb superb stuff. Wear it well and with great pride. I love it.
  12. Super watch super write up. Thanks for sharing. Wear it well and in good health. Sheeeet I've got to get a decent 1016.
  13. Best dress watch? Easy, a vintage Rolex Sub 5513. It says everything, class, taste, discernment with a hint of rugged. Job done.
  14. That looks like a damn fine pasty. I hope you stuck to the true cornish basic ingredients?
  15. Hope it's been pressure tested.
  16. Welcome to a very good place. You're modding already - I've been her for about 6 years now and haven't modded anything. Good start. 1016's are where it's at by the way.
  17. True. My home, my kitchen. Is there a better place in the world?
  18. Ok. Wher in the world am I today?
  19. I have none of this equipment. I have no modding experience but I love the solution, using the laws of physics to your own advantage. Super stuff.
  20. @ preacher62. Thanks for that, most informative and of course, makes complete sense.
  21. Very nice. 1016's are fabulous pieces. May both it and your wife live together happily ever after.
