Been looking for a watch I can use as a daily wearer for quite a few months already... quite like the Admirals Cup 48mm... but if I got it I would want to do some mods such as day/datewheel swap, AR and superlume... is there any other mod that can be done to make it more accurate?
Does anyone have a fully modded one? Would love to see pics esp of a wristshot!
Was trying to decide between this and the Admirals Cup Challenge Chrono 44... but would prefer something more water resistant so decided against the chrono... anyway came across the carbon fibre bezel model... looks pretty good plus it does not have a datewheel so it would not have the recessed datewheel tell... not sure how good the carbon fibre bezel is though.
would probably be easier if u could get a modder to offer to do a transplant project with the movement in a watch... then u would probably get them snapped up in no time...
hmmm... I was just about to contact HKTAN to make me a strap for my Homer Tourbillon watch but having second thoughts now after reading all this...
Is there anyone else that makes good quality straps? And anyone recommend design or style for the homer tourbillon?
Suunto do divewatches... hiking/climbing/outdoor watches... sport watches... etc...
they are quite cool...
this one has altimeter, barometer, temperature, compass, depthmeter functions... and also storm alarm...
thanks... nato strap.... that was the name i was looking for... that would be cool.... will do a search to see where to get them... i am sure there was some guy that custom made them...
Hi ppl... Not sure if there are any SUUNTO fans out there... hope I don't offend anyone by posting something about a DIGITAL watch here... :p
This model comes with a leather strap... but I am going to wear it as a daily wearer in a tropical country where I will sweat and it rains quite often... so I am thinking to get a custom strap made for this... any recommendations?
Rubber or Canvas? I was thinking the canvas strap that some of the guys have on their moonwatches would look pretty cool too?
but how does the rose gold hold up? I am thinking a watch like that you would keep it for a while...and you don't want the gold scratching or coming off...
It is actually quite easy to resize if you have the right tools... my watch shop broke the bracelet of my gf's one and when i got a replacement bracelet I resized it myself with no problems...
Taking the pins off are easy... just need a pin pusher tool... push the pin out and resize it... the hard part is putting it back together without breaking it... dont use the small hammer that comes in the watch tool kit as it will break the ceramic... all i did was fit the pin in with my fingers till it is still sticking out, but instead of using a hammer, i used my tweezer in my tool kit... used the flat side and pressed against the pin... that way you get more leverage and it wont break the bracelet.... i basically rested the bracelet on the table and used both hands one holding each side of the tweezer and pushed down...
Hard to explain but hope you get it... pm me if you have problems understanding...
He has a shop in Ho Chi Minh...
This is his website:
http://www.vintagewatchesmq.com/home.html
If you don't get a reply from emailing him, keep trying... he takes awhile to reply...
I would be in... when you say buying locally... would buying from the mq shop be considered local? or are you talking about going to the factory direct?
I am in the exact same position!!! Want to get one but not many discussions about them... I did notice that there are hardly any for sale 2nd hand which must be a good sign!
