  1. I ordered the same dial, thought I put it in a silix 6538 case, change the bezel and have black bay prototype. Unfortunately I received a regular snowflake dial as stated in the text on the site. I mailed them and got an answer that they will address the issue as soon as they return from vacation. I hope you got the right one or have they just put the wrong picture to the text?

I have emailed them when i ordered to confirm what i want but no reply yet i will send another one with the photo ! Many thanks!

Well now we are on the subject of tudors i wonder if my christmas bonus will buy me this brand new tudor heritage

disclaimer : This photo is taken off the official tudor heritage website ( i did not mean to hijack the photo)

well its modern but with a truly vintage feel! shame rolex should take a leaf out of tudors book and make a new 6538 submariner

but then again it would be built the size of a deepsea (no offence intended to dssd fans) and a saphire crystal nice to see a new vintage watch with dome crystal !

  3. Well i must say that looks great! that is fastest delivery and review i ever saw! no doubt they are getting better (movements) for me i would not go to the expence even if i could afford it for a gen movement unless i was building with all gen parts and it was a rare model so 200usd sounds great to me can they supply engraving 3135 ect?

  4. Aero, maybe contact Jmb and see if he can make a dial for you. I don't know if he's doing them now but you can ask.

Here's the one he made me.

Thanks woof! great watch! i have ordered two today before i saw your post ! but i will keep it in mind i usually go round collecting parts and storing them for future projects or passing them on i ordered a rose black dial and a blue-ish rose dial with round raised markers the blue one im not sure what type of case to use i assume merc handset the site called it a snowflake dial but as i said it has round markers

  5. 5513 simple and clean no bla bla i would like to build a tudor sub but i cant live with the snowflake dial and handset mabe in the flesh i may grow to like it but for a tudor i will stick with a rose dial with mercedes handset

On vintage subs i prefer not to have the officially certified chronometer printing (i mean why lie more that you have to) with a replica and anyway would you like your mustang or vette with writting on its body saying officially certified as a fast car?

As we said before rolex was known for using there old stock parts bin so unless we can find someone who worked at rolex in the 60s and can verify infomation anything is possible with regards to chapter rings or not ect. and things are further complcated by rolex service procedure of changing dials crowned whenever someone sent there sub in.

  6. If the Yuki movement is the same as the A3135, then yes...it will fit gen and gen-spec date wheels

Im sure it will be Yukis parts are made to fit to his cases and dials and they are made to gen specs! he must have comissioned these movements i tried to buy clone movements from the rep seller but was told they are limited and not available as movement only you email to confirm it.
  7. This movement as a sterile 3135 would go great in this sterile homage 6538 bond watch i think the case set is superb in its own write even though its not our usual thing on a replica watch forum! Just think no more customs and trademark worries! or the case could be modded to resemble the vintage 6538!

  8. Even without markings its still a few runs up the ladder from eta movement and without markings you can drop it into a none 3135 rolex rep, i too would like to see an exact replication of the 1530 1570 movement so lisen up rep makers there is a market for it and if they are made exact part for part this would be usuful not only to rep builders but to vintage restorers who are having problems finding or affording parts for there vintage 5513 or similar and have it stuck in a drawer, like there are so many aftermarket suppliers of inserts crystals handsets so why not movements for copyright issues they could be sold and advertised without trademark logos and mabe at the customers request could be supplied with the logos my 6538 dial was purchased that way the seller sells and advertises sterile watch parts but was able to supply me with all logo/markings

the closest (looking 1570 movement we have is the eta 1570 clone that only has an appearance to the gen but imagine an exact clone that fits in a get case with gen handset and all parts can we used on a gen movement now that would bring our hobbie to a new level!

Puretime superclone movement they say can fit gen hands and fit in a gen case has anyone purchased this watch? any feedback

  9. "wonder what happened to this gen cgs? mabe we forget that years ago these subs were tool watches and may not have been perfectly finished as todays subs there where so many cgs shapes back then"

I had an R42xxxx 16750 GMT that had been damaged somehow at the lower crown guard and it looked similar to this after the AD 'smoothed it out'.

The owner traded it in not liking the 'smoothing out' job and I bought it for $900 in 1991. It looked like new except for the CG.

It's long gone but it had an oyster bracelet with a long clasp cap similar to a submariner but no extension. I still have the clasp somewhere.

Interesting i would like like to see a photo of that clasp if you got one i have seen others without extensions they are very early versions

This is my 5513 before the cgs were shaved down, next to a 1965 gen 5513

notice the yuki insert is an exact match to the gen

    post-27094-0-50130600-1347382310_thumb.j

notice the 1680 puretime case profile is very close to the gen

my 5513 and next to it, as it was purchased a 1680 from puretime

  11. Great job, that new dial really makes a difference! From ythe looks of the before and after, you did something with the rehault as well.In the first photos, the rehault looks sort of like the one on the puretime 6542. In the "after" photo, it looks like a completely different watch . Where did you get the second glossy dial from?

Thanks panarai153 yes the dial has made a difference i purchased it from Ruhelena.com ( helenarou) you can find him on ebay he sells sterile watch casekits and dials

he has a homage 6538 bond watch which i liked the sterile dial as i wanted a glossy dial with superlume markers so i asked him if he knew anyone that can add the rolex logos to the dial he replied that he had one and i ordered it without seeing it, it cost me 85 usd for the dial and handset shipped he is in hong konk he is on ebay as ruhelena or just write 6538 bond homage watchcase (ebay)

my watchmaker fitted a crystal to replace the tall bulky one and fitted it with a stainless steel ring this also gives a better finish to crystals that have to be glued in you can sometimes see the glue when looking from the side with a lobe it is this that can be seen and makes the watch look different it looks more like my yuki case 6538

the watch is also water resistant and can be used for swimming or showering!

  12. @ aeromatic

I am in the market for a creamy dial and hands. What did you use on yours? In fact what are all the specs on that piece? When you say 'decent crown' what are you going for? Do I detect a gen insert there?

Hi dieselpower the dial i purchased off a guy on ebay he only had 2 dials for sale its marked singer and it came with this creamy look i did not do anything to it,

except to the dial feet which only fitted a gen movement

the case is a puretime redsub 1680 which is factory fitted with a eta 2846 we modded it to none hack , i found that the case was very close to the gen except for the overlong cgs i used a 1965 gen 5513 a customer had brought in for repairs as a pattern and reshaped the cgs to look as close as i could to the gen if you check my content you will see my post on the puretime 1680 converted to 5513 and i have a photo side by side with the gen

im looking for a crown slimmer like a 702 , i have had the crown trimmed from both sides on a lathe to make it appear thinner

the crystal is made by my watchmaker friend ,the insert is a yuki it was in fact fitted by yuki to my 6538 case until he sent me correct none 15min markers

i have aged the whole watch except the dial the insert was hung outside of my window for months in the hot cyprus sun on a wire, the scratches were made by it scraping on the wall on windy days!

the puretime 1680 case was chosen also because the redsub dial is 26mm most reps are around 29mm so the creamy dial was a straight swop the lug profile was indentical to the gen ,the shape i mean.

although i like the aged look on a 5513 i will build another 5513 but this will not be aged like this mabe just take off the factory fresh look!
