I purchased mine from puretime and for a friend i ordered one from trusty the trusty had a better AR tone than the puretime we fitted both with a thick mesh bracelet using the reps buckleBest place to source one?

Actualy the new TT looks more like a fake with cheap looking finishes, the old blue TT has rich luster i used to own a noob TT and i want to replace it but only with the older version none ceramic sub !It'd be interesting to see the current Rolex sales figures for the new models... compared to the old line.
It seems that people in the gen watch forums aren't too excited about them, either.
PS: Isn't it sad how badly they ruined the TT Sub dial? Now it's just plain, dilute blue... compared to the old rich, deep blue on 16613.
The new Sub isn't a bad looking watch. But again... it's just not as nice as the old, iconic design.

Taking a quote out of that classic cary grant film north by northwest ,this problem can be best disposed of from a great heightHas there been any discussion about the new Rolex Sky-Dweller?
What's the point of this watch?
skydweller ? throw it out of an aeroplane ! apologies to anyone who likes this watch . whats the point indeed !

I could have written this myself word for word ! i would prefer to wear a replica vintage sub than any of those bulky gens dials, markers, cases and so on, the classic sea dweller is the most perfect proportions and dare i say slightly better that a same period submariner (just my own thoughts there no offence i love the older 5513s)Here's a boring and controversial rant from a conservative and dull Rolex man. If you strongly disagree with my offensive views, feel free to post just as controversial replies.
Biggest recent design mistakes by Rolex
Thoughts?
i ordered one of the first gmt oversized reps sold it soon after it just looked dull next to the classic none ceramic subs i dont even like the later maxi dials the vintage subs had perfect sized markers and case size and a real cool presence on the wrist .long live the vintage submariner and pepsi gmts and no crownguard subs and vintage tudor subs!

This watch is one of those reps that is very hard to believe its a replica the finish weight and look of the watch is super and being someone that has tried on a gen ploprof i saw no difference between the two (to the naked eye) and i was thinking that the owner payed over 5000 euros for it ! omega reps have had for a while now very high quality finish and weight even with low cost 21js rolex reps were lagging behind a little .

Anyone purchased the yuki (gen) crowns ? i want to replace my 5513 crown and tube what is the difference between version 1 and version 2 ? my 5513 is based on a mid 1960s -70s sub is the 702 the only best crown to fit ? thanks in advance!
-
strange i never had any problems with fitting i must have purchased from a different seller the tropic crystal i purchased was a perfect fit with a yuki insert! and was shipped fast .youd think that. funny thing is a GEN 5513 bezel insert doesnt even fit over their too large Tropic 19. it also bent / destroyed my retaining ring when trying to fit it, because i did not realise it was larger until it was too late.
also bought their bezel assembly for a 16610 it was also too large, the crystal took in humidity. i returned it. so unless you want to support your local post office, id avoid WSO

This watch i purchased in 1995 from a woman that had a box full of old watches that were left by her deceased husband who had a watch shop!
the watch is a rumanel 17 jewel swiss made 20 microns gold plating and was one of two identical rumanel new old stock watches this watch cost me 50usd and is the slimmest watch i have ever owned
its condition is mint no aging to the gold only some slight pitting on the dial
i have not been able to find out much info about this watch i googled the name and only one rumanel watch came up a much more modern rumanel and have not been able to age the watch the woman told me it was over 50 years old in 1995
Here are some photos if anyone can help with more infomation please let me know !
Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section im not sure where to post it!

Hi fredfree i have delt with this seller many times the items are made for gen watches so the fit should be ok as for aftermarketHi, on my quest for a good bezel ass. for my TC with gen insert I stumbled upon seller wholesaleoutlet on the bay does anybody know how this bezel ass. is ? They sell both bezel and retaining ring, here is the bezel :
http://item.mobilewe...nid=26333911745
items is the next best thing from gen parts and his prices are very fair and he accepts returns if not satified i like his inserts !

We should stop nit picking these factory replicas and enjoy the watches for what they are they are a cheap alternative to the over inflated gen prices as i have said in other posts our hobbie is getting too serious its a great looking watch and the chances that a person will bump into you who is a gen expert and will carry on him a lobe and examine your watch is pretty remote even an expert will be hard pushed to notice the differences of a watch on your wrist
these watches can be modded dials swopped upgaded movements and so on , factory replicas are getting better and better but these watches are made in china (and very well made) and at a fraction of the price but they are made by another factory not by rolex so each factory will have there own way of replicating the watch and another way of constructing each individial items coupled with the factories cost saving policy of using the same parts for similar models resulting in wrong case/bracelet numbers and so on enjoy your watch and always read the excellent posts on RWG for choosing and modding your watch and there is nothing wrong with wearing your watch right out of the box!

Thanks Rymeister! different colour tones can be made using different laquer tints and technics im thinking of ordering a number of dials from raffletime and experiment they cost between 19usd and 38usdI really like that dial aeromatic,I'm currently looking into a red 1680 build myself at the moment, wish mbw cases were more available

Its not a puretime 1680 the bezel flutes dont go that close to the insert on the pt. its looks like a 29mm dial the pt watch is 26mm
here are the puretime 1680s one of the 1680s was converted to a 5513
And the left over dial became a victim of my experiment i put it in the oven 20min at 200c
here is the too shiny pt dial before the oven abuse
and here after the oven violation the 200c heat was too high and bubbled up the dial slighty so next time i will use less heat!
notice that the markers shine has all gone and see the unexpected guilt colour to the white printing
dial then sprayed with mahogany laquer then as the dial was tack drying i rubbed it with dusty fingers this removed the gloss from the laquer
and gave an aged look
I posted this experiment some time back, if you are building a budget watch then using the factory dial is an option

Well it well ! super watch!

well done i want to see more sterile projects featured on rwg they are replicas too of the gens ok they call them homage watches but these are (legal) replicas no trademark issues no customs issues and may well be the way to the future i bend both ways sterile and outright replicasJust got my completed milsub project back from the watchmaker last night and thought you guys might be interested in the details! I wanted to make the most correct 5517 homage out there, but keep it on a small budget. I know there are many replicas out there that I could have just switched dials on but there are usually a lot of tiny imperfections on them that just bother the heck out of me. Anyways here is my new beauty:
Case - I used a replica case, originally from "Trevor Time", obtained from lloyd at rwg.cc. It has the fixed / welded lug springbars like the original 5517 had to enable only NATO nylon straps to be used. The movement inside is a DG2813 "21 jewel".
$100.00 shipped
Dial - I got an unmarked "sterlie" 29.2mm dial with white lume from Ken at rafflestime.com. It has the correct "Swiss T<25" marking near the
very nice build ruhelena(helenarou has the 5517 dial superlumed with all rolex /logos and markings at 29mm size he does not advertise it only steriles i purchased a 6538 bond dial with all markings

i used the puretime 1680 watch with 2846 movement i found the case and bracelet well made and the crown guards can be reshaped just change the dial, crystal and this watch is rare that it fits a 26mm dial most reps 5513/1680 are more like 29mm and at 200usd you get a case, bracelet, and slow beat movement! check it out on puretime redsubmariner!Hi all, I am working on my 5513 build, I almost got what I need. But I'm trying to get one of those vintage 5513 subs from Josh to use some parts from that watch. I heard that They are not quite the same as they used to. well in that case before I order one if anyone has an extra one to let go, please pm me.
Cheers
Check out my content to see my post of the 1680 photos taken with a 1965 gen sub!
