  1. something vintage-styled today...

    California_zpsf6387a40.jpg

Very classic looking aviators watch super ! sterile watches should be featured more on here after all they are replica watches too but without trademark issues !

Check out wernersflyingwatches.com they sell very similar style watches mostly retro and a lot of divers watches too, in the uk i used to live not far away from him in telford !

  2. Very nice speedy ! get an alligators black strap and fit a( omega stamped buckle from ebay or yukiwatch) alligator straps cost between 40usd and 400usd the higher quality straps are also water resistant which is good if you live in a hot climate like me i would try and go for the best you can afford your nice watch deserves it ! i dont think that your speedy would look better on a nylon strap although i sometimes fit a black nylon strap on my rep speedy !

these are 199usd these are loissiana alligator(did i spell that correctly Lol!)

  3. Looking goooooood :tu: :tu: :tu: Kudos on a First Rate build. I love the look of the Black Bay, but did think that the red insert might make the watch less than subtle, so to see that with the brandy insert, the different flavor certainly gives a very casual and subtle result :good::drinks:

Yes i think so too for this build as you say a watch with a different flavor suites with the brandy harley insert which compliments the guilt dial nicely mabe i should call it THE BROWN BAY or THE BRANDY BAY ! :)

  4. Great pair ray, would love either one :)

Just to clarify with the rep crown: there was a bit of confusion over which was gen on the geek, the gen is actually the left in the pics above, it is the heavier engraved

design. Some people immediately thought the right one which was thinner engraved was the gen and said it looked a little better cut in teeth and design, but it's actually on the left one.

They are updating this on the prototype.

I meant to link back to the original thread:

    http://www.repgeek.c...t=187824&page=8

After looking at these crowns the left is not very well cut and the engraved black rose looks smudgy (rough) the right is clear and very well done, so that shows that reps can be better finished than a gen, attention to detail on these high end reps is amazing we have to remember that a lot of high end watches are sometimes not so well finished as today these watches are also mass produced and not hand finished any more

i was looking over a 2004 gen submariner date with my watchmaker friend and we saw a bad finish cut underneath side of the lugs if this was a high end rep i would return it

but it was on a gen rolex !

also i was looking over a omega moonwatch at out local AD and it felt so tinny and light for 2900 euros, i decided purchase a trusty rep reduced which feels a lot more solid to me ok it has the 6 oclock subdial problem but after replacing the saphire crystal with a gen omega acrylic dome and replaced the wrong bracelet with a 60s expanding mesh i feel like i have a solid watch and for under 300usd !

  5. Bro, you need to use ur punctuation. I kinda get your story, but find it hard to read. hehe. But yes, many gen owners don't know the exact details of many models and don't know what to look for. And with high quality reps as what we have, the construction is fairly good. But except, many details are not as well made. Like what you pointed out, the clicking noise probably does not sound as smooth. But then again, you get what you pay for, and gotta mod it to get the best out of it.

I am sorry ! i forgot to write my post in english ! :) i have been out of the UK for 22 years (in my location its all greek ! ) :g:
  6. give him a break.. its keyboard malfunction :D

How did you know? :) actually my laptop is suffering from (flashing screen) ribbon cable problems plus i have tired twitchy fingers and cant stop ordering watch parts for projects that i dont have ! :bangin: i used to build hotrods like that too i would buy a nice set of wheels then find a car to sit on them ! :) i promised myself i would not do this with watches !
  7. The company that i used to work for which is a family business they all wear rolexes one of there sons has two datonas two datejusts and a hublot they saw me many times wearing my reps and he used to say hey nice watch any way one day we were talking and i told him that they were reps he stood there and said get outta here they are gen

he could not believe they were reps i was wearing a noobmariner tt blue anyway after that he got very interested in reps and often gets me to order him some on condition that i never tell his brothers or anyone else they are rep the guy drives a aston martin and a jag and he wears his reps with pride i have seen him on a number of times at meetings wearing them i asked him why would he want to wear a rep when he can buy a gen like we buy a pair of shoes he was only called out once when showing it to his brother he picked up on the bezel click sound

these guys are not like us they no nothing about details of gens or reps or there contruction they just wear them !

  8. I agree 100%

These 007-special editions look cheap and cheesy. Omega is only tarnishing their brand image with these.

And how many Special Editions they do have? Is it really anything special when you put out a new one every year?

As i have expressed before these 007 watches look cheap they should keep these in the swatch area not omega i am a bond fan but i second that im interested in the screen watch not a watch that advertises 007 ,007 is famous already and omega is high end watch again does not need any bond endorsment how would it look if aston martin started spashing all over there car 007?

with special edition watches they should fix these to the box not on the actual watch and i would like to see a solid backcase to me see thu is tacky if i buy this as rep i would change the backcase first .

  9. I have had problems with TDs some were resolved and some were never i have purchased from none TDs and have been very happy with the service one trusted dealer after recieving a swiss eta order only to find a asian clone inside sent me a replacement swiss eta on another ocasion a watch that fell apart on arrival after several emails was told no parts are available from the factory appologies. another TD after having recieved a damaged watch, one of there personnel replied i will speak with the vendor other emails were ignored and i never heard anything again and i have purchased other times from them with a very good service, ok i know these things happen and sellers using qc photos to help avoid these issues which is a good idea despite these problems i have continued to purchase from them as these watches are replicas and not a AD purchase

a problem that happens sometimes is a watch arrives with a small issue and it is more cost effective to have the watch repaired or the small part sent by the TD than to return the watch and risk customs issues returning, so i usualy ask the seller to send the parts or ask for a discount on my next order
