  8. I think most of the repswhere claimed 316l is a cheaper sort of steel...
  9. I tell you again, this one is gen. Look at the Bezelheight , the Dial, The Sel's and the overall finish...

  11. Fantasic work... Best Vintage Daytona i've seen yet. I love it.....
  12. Hi Chief, no problem to drill the SEL,but you must drill slow and cool the drillbit. the sprinbars are not rounded just polished...
  13. No no its the same old Frankensub as ever. But i installed on this one a better datewheel and managed that a gen Insert fits the bezel.. So nothing to do on this one...
  14. Thanky for your kind words... Here the details of this Franken.. The case is an old MBWcase. I drilled the lugholes, shaped the CG's,installed a gen Tube and Crown and overhault the whole case.. Caseback is from the perfect Sub... The bezel is grinded down, also the gen Insert that snaps in. The Movement is an Eta 2836-2,the Dial is from Pauls perfect Sub,that fits the movement perfectly and is good as a gen one. The Datewheel is an old MBW datewheel,Numbers not too fat and big. Hands from an old MBW. Installed a noobmariner bracelet drilled the SEL's to fit gen sprinbars, the clasp is changed with a better one..
  15. Yepp, lot of gen parts on this one...... This one will never sold..
  16. i thinkFF is the Panniexpert here. Fantastic work and a great watch
  17. Thats not my work, this is a MBW 5513,this one is without Mods.. I don't know if Neil has this one...
  18. Yepp, take a1680 MBW Case its stamped 5513 on the lugs,or better catch a MBW 5513 Look here By the way your work on the HE Valve is great... The watch looks good...
  19. read here.. The 5514 models was a batch of watches that was specially made for COMEX and its divers and never sold by retailers.. It was delivered after the successful testing of the 5513 with HEV and COMEX made a special order of these watches. The magic number that keeps being quoted is that only 154 of these were delivered to COMEX. While that is an urban myth, since there is evidence that many more 5514 were delivered in at least three batches. Each batch has its own characteristics. Many of us are under the impression that COMEX got some extra white paint on all their dials, but this is clearly not universal and from the last batch. The classic 5514 is as this one with Tritium dial with COMEX logo and big numbers in the caseback, this is the end of the evolution for the 5514.. So you can see its a 5513 case with He Valve... Casback is marked Comex.... Its the same movement than in a 5513. Hard to build a good one,you can use a MBW 5513 case, but must install a He Valve, also the caseback must be engraved Comex.. For the dial some CN Dials will work... Than some gen parts (Insert,Tropic,Tube and crown) A good hollow midlink bracelet...
  20. Looks Gen to me
  21. Or you can take an old AS Movement 1903,than you have the Date rotating in the right direction to fit aGen silver datewheel. Its a 21000Bph Movement no Quickset at the date....
  22. Hey guys the MBW Nautilus jumbo exist since about 10 years or longer... Ive seen this one many years befor, but no my cup of coffee
