  1. 1) My 6152 with some patina 2) 5218/201A work in progress awaiting a better dial and non AR crystal install
  2. All 1675's are 40mm Vic, Selleck must have gorilla wrists
  3. This is my same franken show before in this thread and in the wrist checks, just a better pix with an antique effect. My 1655 is a franken of 3 watches; 1 from TTK (the MBK version) I used the movement, dial, bezel and second hand from it and 2 of Andrew's 1655 models, (ROLEXP2002) for the case and Orange hand. Lastly, take it or leave it the caseback from (ROLVIN007) -this was my first 1655 rep and has the correct engraving and better shape so I used it. The dial was aged and the 24 hour indices extended a little to the edge of the dial. A genuine T116 was installed (glued in place) as well as a set of vintage relumed NOS Omega hour & minute hands from Ofrei (stock# HAN-2752). The stock GMT and seconds hands were recycled and repainted in flat colors plus a vintage lume. The Omega hands are nearly spot on to the real deal Explorer II and really make the watch. The hands are never correct on any of the 1655 reps. To finish it off I have a gen 7836 folded bracelet fitted to it. All in all, aside from the incorrect beat rate and the date mag being a little too large, I'm quite happy with the results of this project.
  4. Saturday (and third time this week) my franken 1655
  5. Che was a tired avatar anyhow and now I changed it to my favorite franken project and speaking of the topic at hand -a new pix of my Explorer II
  6. I have no affinity for revolutionaries or communists, just that I like the irony that he's wearing a bourgeois symbol. What's stranger is, somehow my avatar has reverted to the Calico Jack without me changing it???
  7. Sweet Euno, never seen shots of your pointed CG GMT!
  8. DBR, I'm not a fan of Jubilee's either but I have to agree with Nanuq and Euno that on a GMT it just pops and seems at home! You can start slinging it at me too now
  9. Thanks Freddy, it's a burly strap for sure. Here are some old stock photos I have off hand.
  10. I've seen the pix before but jeez!
  11. Today, DSN 6152 with the dial and hands finally vintagized (if that's a word) and one of my favorite straps -a Zeugma 147. No clue for the weekend yet
  12. Not a bad price, I would. It's certainly less than a DW with VJ72, come to think of it that's less than my all I've dropped into my DW with a VJ23
  13. Dice, If you don't have the time, patience or inclination to source a VJ23 (that is all that will fit in a DW mystery movement model) then Avitt is right -sell it. Perhaps see if DW has any more complete VJ72 Daytonas that he was offering not long ago, but be prepared to pony up for it, they're not cheap.
  14. EP, Can you tell us where/who you bought it from? That will help point you in a specific direction. If it's an MBW/MBK DRSD there is a lot you can do since they accept genuine parts. If it's one of the less expensive ones from the collectors/dealers on the forums here you will have more limited options. Also try a search under 1665 or DRSD, and in the upgrade and how-to areas you should find a wealth of info and inspiration there. BTW, welcome to the forums.
  15. I never get tired of looking at that movement Bazz!
  16. Well shucks Vic! thanks for the compliment.
  17. Euno, is there something you want to tell us about I seem to recall a relative of yours owning one that looked just like that???
  18. Thanks Freddy, yup people either love or hate the 1655. Nice PN! -love those exotic dials
  19. Here are a few new pix of the "Orange Hand", I promise it's the same watch
