  1. I grab the closest watch to the door heading out to take one of the kids to a halloween party.
  2. I hear ya Euno, I still can't get over what Rolex did with the branding on the rehaut , not to mentioned all the tricky colors on the dials.
  3. Yikes what a background. Be safe and careful Avitt!
  4. That's a good question Bertieng! I do know that is one of the rarest parts around, you see the crowns for sale from time to time (there was a complete used 8mm crown & tube sold recently on ebay for well over $1000), but rarely see tubes for sale. Doubtful that there is an aftermarket version for it too. Curiously do you have a gen 8mm Brevet crown? If you do, your best bet may be to have one made. I have a DSN brevet crown for a Bond Sub project, but it will take some work since the tube is huge and wasn't intended for a sub case. This project is on the backburner for now.
  5. Greetz, I did not try a 37.4, I just left it with the original fiddy crystal.
  6. Sorry to hear the bad news Laz, my condolences.
  7. Interesting topic V. What will we do with all these watches 20+ years from now. Funny, we see it now with forum veterans talking about older or small run reps that are rare and command higher prices. I've had a watch fascination for over 25 years, but only collected reps in the last 2 years. I guess my first rep (surprise a Rolex sub) is in a landfill somewhere and was a $10 Canal St. special I purchased in NY probably 15 years ago. It died a horrible death two weeks after its purchase and had green toned glass for a cyrstal. I used to collect a lot of militaria and have way too much gear (hmmm... "TMG") and often wondered what the hell I would do with all this stuff too! -I guess sell it, let my kid inherit this crap or go on antiques roadshow with it
  8. Wholesale Outlet will always get you what you ordered eventually, but often ships the wrong parts. Raymond Lee Jewelers (ebay) also has quality tubes and takes best offers
  9. One of my new favorites I'm enjoying right now before it gets some mods.
  10. Greetz, Lumpy has a real good point. I bought a 37.2 low dome and it didn't fit properly on my mini-fiddy, but mine was from purchased from Angus, not TWP. It would have required gluing to keep it in place and would have looked like crap.
  11. I believe Drop is correct the 201A dial is engraved I seem to recall reading somewhere. This is a great Paneristi article on neo-vintage dials.
  12. Drool, drool -those are very special, thanks for sharing Kruzer!
  13. I try and rotate through most of my collection, but these are some of my favorites. The 1665 GW is no longer in the lineup -sold it to a buddy
  14. NS, Tudor mini-subs are usually in the $700 - $900 range while the full size Tud subs are anywhere from $1500 - $2400 depending on the style; gilt dials and snow flakes commanding higher prices. If you want a fullsize sub auction houses or Timezone are probably your best bet for a fair price. My Tudor 7016/0 below was selling for between $1400 - $1800 a year and a half ago, now most I see are starting at $2200 - $2400. They're all going up in value. I couldn't bring myself to convert a Tudor sub, why destroy the integrity of the watch. They're cool in their own right -just my .02
  15. Some people must be paying his asking prices. Thank goodness for forums and a community like this!
  16. Not enough bling on there JF
