    Dear Fellow Forum Friends,

I have been a member for a couple of years and have only just decided to sell a few of my Panerai watches but am struggling to upload the photos.

When I press 'upload' under watches, a message says that I do not have the rights or words to that effect. The other meesage keeps saying that I have not logged in but I have. I have pressed help and reading all the forum notes regarding uploading and posting but this just brings up the same error message. I have found under 'help' that there is a subscription entitling me to pay a small subscription each month but that not say what the benefits are. How much would I have to pay to be able to upload images.

Could someone please help as I would love to place my Pams as soon as possible. Apologies in advance if I should have posted this with the administrator but thought I would get a quick response here as well.

    Many thanks

  2. in the majority of cases camera shots distort the blue.

i would say the purple color on the ultimate 229 dial is very very small and not mentionable.

for me it's a very unique blue.

the davidsen 229 blue is more a boring blue.

that's why my vote was very clear for the ultimate 229 blue.

    see my 229 topic.

btw. the gen was produced only with 33 pieces as single box.

  3. you all did forget to mention,

davidsens movement in all his auto pams is the old 7750b1 and no way to change with a gen swiss valjoux 7750.

the 7750b1 has a taller measurement than the swiss 7750.

different is the cartel ultimate 229.

the inner case measurement is perfect made for a swap with a gen swiss valjoux 7750.

my watchmaker did this modification for me.

  4. nonsense.....

my question was not about the pvd quality, i think for sure it is superb.

many pvd companies can give a reasonable result,

and with necessary tests in terms of surface blasting and machine adjustments also the right color.

Holy [censored] Rolli, calm down!! As Zig says it's just a PVD coating!! He didn't say he had your mamas special spaghetti sauce!! :p

From what I'm told it looks awesome Zig and I'm certainly not going to doubt you or your source!! Your name speaks for itself in my opinion!

Just as an aside, what happened to that wicked cool stealth number you built ? It was near the begining of the year Ithink it was. We all had a discussion about touching colour onto the tips of seconds hands etc. That was an amazing sounding watch, would love to know how it turned out!!

    Sixx :bones:

  5. trust is good if possible, control is better.

    rolli

Sorry, I don't know or remember the origin of this particular case.

As for the PVD coating...it's PVD coating, not making clone babies from stem cells...sheesh...what is the big deal.

I will continue to trust my friends, people lie when there is a motive, in this case, no motive = no reason to lie.

Back on topic, the PVD and the end results look good, nothing else matters...glad the members like it.

  6. hi avitt,

maybe it is correct or not the statement from unclejay,

but........... you know it is always the word BUT.........

to hear that from a third person and to talk forwards to other persons and so on and so on...

    is that believable ?????

    for me not.

for me a statement is only believable, when it only comes direct from the company with a letter with affirmation.

    otherwise it is only blah...blah....blah......

it's never a good advertising for this service.

and...to use this promise to greenhorns, in terms of the authenticity of the pvd company, this for my taste is too much,

    and more than overstated.

    rolli

I recall member UncleJay stating that the PVD work for PAM Pre-V, A, and B models was originally done by Vacor AG in Switzerland.
  7. when i want to know which company it is, then i would ask direct mario paci, and no other person,

that's not reliable, too many poeple talk too much and think they are very important persons.

i have in connection with a friend in castelfiorentino / tuscany / italy a direct contact to mario paci,

both are friends and worked together for 25 years.

if i want to know this pvd company, this would be very easy for me.

i work together in a special project with this italian friend.

but........i don't need this information, because for the pvd coatings i already work with a famous swiss company

which is also located here near my city. and the professional result is more than top.

    rolli

Of course the PVD company knows what they have done ... :) I was told this and I have no reason to not believe the person who passed on the information to me.

    Do you know?

  8. hi zig,

    amazing result.

    but........here is the main question.

how do you know which pvd company used panerai for their pre-vendome watches ?????

as far as i know, only mario paci and dino zei, both former chiefs from the old panerai company florence

and maybe the one or other employee know the pvd company in connection their pre-vendome pvd models.

    rolli

This is my own sourced PVD coating, and a FGD dial, the results are wonderful.

The dial is lumed my own custom vintage Tritium mix, and the hands are also my own custom colour done up lighter as per the genuine watch.

I get the PVD done at the same factory that Panerai used for the original Pre-V watches. I do all the teardown and prep work, send the cases directly to the coating factory, and then assemble the final product when the coating is completed. The end results are very impressive. Hope you like it as much as I do...

  9. not lost....

    simple too expensive....

for my last pvd coating i had to order a single machine as single batch,

because for my special pvd color and procedure, the other customers of the company couldn't get the same machine,

that's why i had to pay for a single batch. euro 300,--. , and this is too much for the other members.

when i have a new price list, then i will let you know.

    rolli

So i bought a very nice pam 028. It has the right cyclops, soprod mvmt, a gen crown, perfect datewheel, and the lume is just right.

Only thing it needs is the right pvd coating. Ive spoken to rolli for a while, but it seems his pvd connection was lost somehow, and im now looking for somewhere else to get it done.

Does anyone here have some good experience?

    cheers

    rkdk

  10. yes tanya...

you will have a lot of fun with this pam.

maybe you can find gen images via google to take a look for more fastination.

    and.......if the v-crown-guards would grow on trees.........hahaahahah...

On that you can be sure.........i would be the first who shakes.

    rolli

Thanks Rollie I have decided this must be my next project and the best part is i have the eta valjoux 7750 already. Now all I need is everything else,..sigh.. I wish V CG's grew on trees
  11. hi tanya,

yes it's the same case, but i've bought it from precious time.

the basic crown-guard and crown looked terrible and totally wrong compared to the gen.

also the basic case-tube looked terrible and was not to use for the palp crown.

    so... a simple decision.

new case-tube, palp crown and v-crown-guard.

and this did make no sense without a gen swiss valjoux 7750.

so...a swiss movement found its place, and not forget the necessary watchmaker workings.

    rolli

    Amazing

Rolli is this the same ultimate 229 (before the modifications) that Andrew and Josh sell? I have always wanted to take up a 229 project but I heard that Davidson has a better dial than the ultimate. I can't imagine a dial looking better than yours. Also would the V cg be correct for this watch or the more flat E series type auto crowns? I think the polished V looks stunning personally but I am curious. Jesus what a stunning watch. And how in the hell did they add a new tube to the case

    thanks for sharing
